I've always kind of thought the idea behind the journey in LOTR was kind of that the only reason that the Nazgul and their mounts didn't find them.
The war kept Sauron at least partially occupied and reports of hobbit sightings at battles and such kept the wraiths at the major battles looking for hobbits rather than scouring the countryside. -------------------- He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. I thought the whole thing was that Sauron just wasn't thinking in terms of "what if they want to destroy the ring?" Combine that with the Nazgul losing the trail after losing their horses, Saruman likely running interference while he made a play for the ring, and of course Merry and Pippin were only brought along so that Gandalf and Aragorn could turn up with a Hobbit escort, and it all makes sense. I've been watching Hang 'Em High. Great film, but all these westerns has me toying with the idea of checking out Red Dead Redemption... -------------------- A mind without purpose will walk in dark places

I finally did it. Today I watched the final episode of Magnum P.I. All in all the series was a very fun ride. Even so many years later it is still a good show.
Next, I don't know. I have been watching Monk as well, but I am almost finished with that too. Maybe I will finally get to watching The Great Queen Seondeok. I'm currently nearly finished season 2 of Homeland and thoroughly enjoying it
At this moment though, I am watching Nanook of the North (a 1920s documentary about the Nanook, an eskimo is Canada) for a school assignment.
