QUOTE(Colonel Mustard @ Nov 18 2013, 05:30 PM) I did that once. That was some Salvador Dali [censored], man.
I started auto-writing during some of my character stories about a year ago, it's an interesting way of getting a new 'voice' into your stories, one which is not entirely "you". You know? I used to assume there was some sort of spiritual process to it (since automatic writing is associated with mediums and spirit guides, etc.) but that's all hogwash. All you got do is write the first thing that comes into your mind. Depending which character I'm with, I'll then edit his or her words heavily, or not so heavily. Mycharrona's words (when I was gaming with her last winter) are maybe only 10% edited, which is why they don't make much sense at first read. But if you really concentrate on what she's saying, they also do make a lot of sense. Here's an example. Silence and violence Patrons of the mortal world Death upon thine placid lakes, ...and acquiesence of sated Lords
Should I choose to mock your silence? and move beyond your firey pliants? When chosen, cannot we make compliance, or perhaps, delve into such fetid mourns.
... one figure lithes ... for shadows move ... across these skies ... and 'ere, to boon. I admit some of those words she uses aren't entirely 'real' English words, but that's part of the process, you see. When "I" wrote this for her, I didn't entirely know what the hell she was talking about; I only remember seeing a series of little visions as I was writing it. She had become a full vampire at this point, and in the above poem, she's trying to convey what she thinks it's like to be a mortal, lying asleep, unknowing of the dread he or she is about to face once she shows up to feed. Silence and Violence = the immediate fear one feels as she shows up. This mortal NPC was sleeping peacefully, but now has a vampire in his/her face. Patrons of the mortal world Death upon thine placid lakes = once Mycharonna feeds upon this NPC, never again will he/she view a pleasant scene such as a 'placid lake' the same way, ever again. and acquiescence of sated Lords = um.. I'm not sure what this means. Should I choose to mock your silence? = should I choose to leave you alone, basically. And move beyond your firey pliants? = and leave you to your everyday mortal desires? She seemed to use the words "firey pliants" as a way of identifying the everyday spirit which runs through every mortal. When chosen, cannot we make compliance? = is there a way she can feed without completely frickin' terrifying her subject(s)? Or perhaps, delve into such fetid mourns? = or is the mortal doomed to a future life of terror and depression? ... one figure lithes ... for shadows move ... across these skies ... and 'ere, to boon She's trying to convey a series of images here, of what a mortal might notice as Mycharonna is stalking him or her, before totally pouncing at some unexpected moment. And here's an example of some automatic writing I did with Lord Haaf-Mersey awhile back. No explanation is needed because I probably edited his words a bit so that they'd make some sense. "Ahh...there 't is. The beauty that shineth upon this day, has beckoned me and mine friend, indeed! Gaze upon Nightcaller Temple, Lioness-Mjoll. 'Tis one place devoted of completeness towards a greater affection of the great goddess Mara". ....Again, I would NEVER go to Safeway or Home Depot and spout such nonsense as I'm buying groceries of a hammer. That's why I like auto-writing. It's a way to get into my character's head, let him or her do the talking, so to speak. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Nov 18 2013, 05:36 PM) Fun dreams Renee! So what is your new Altmer's name? J'hames B^nd? Ha ha, I will reveal his name in the New Character thread somebody created awhile back. I got Elder Scrolls Anthology for PC yesterday, bought if from Gamestop.com, and had it delivered safely to my home. I'm not sure how the rest of the world is, but I've noticed that the PC sections in gaming stores here in America is often very lame, assuming there actually is a PC section. So rather than jumping from store to store, wasting time and gasoline, I decided I'd get this one online.
I haven't played it yet, and haven't even installed it yet, but already Arena is in my subconscious. I kept having dreams about playing Arena last night! These were not very memorable dreams, it was me starting up the game over and over, and then seeing some vague monsters show up on the TV screen. But just the very fact that time has colluded inside my subconscious, and future had now become present, and I'm already having dreams about this game, is rather interesting.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to handle this game, but I'm at least gonna try it. Going from 3rd person (mainly 3rd) to 1st person gaming is going to be odd. But I want to see where it all started at least.

It´s the same everywhere. Stores automatically assume you´re a thirteen-year-old kid who plays on Xbox or playstation. I can´t understand how the PC got so shoved away, it´s the most powerful and versatile gaming platform of them all! Sweet that you have the Anthology! And even more sweet that you´re already having dreams about it! Like I´ve said, I never dream about TES except once every ten years or so. I only have stupid dreams This post has been edited by mirocu: Dec 19 2013, 10:29 AM

I gamed until I couldn't think straight last night, and then when I fell asleep, I had several dreams in which I was in Snaat Rayag's world. His modded PC gaming world.
I was in 'God mode', and could not be harmed, but I was free to roam wherever I liked. I don't remember what actually happened in these dreams, though, dangit, just that I was kinda flying around from place to place, moving stuff around. Guess this means I'm about to discover the Constructor's Kit, eh?

I just woke up from one of the most honestly terrifying dreams I've had in a while. I'm going to try to type it before I forget what happened I was in Skyrim, the sky above was the usual pale grey, and I believe I was in the Pale area. So, snow on the ground, some mist in the air, that sort of thing. I'm not sure if I was 'me" or if I was playing a character. I believe I was a 1st-person character. Anyways, so I look up at the sky and see these dots up above. I'm guesstimating there were 50 of them flying up there. I think "oh wow, I've never seen that in this game before". The dots were moving along with the sky's clouds, so pretty soon I couldn't see them anymore. I started to walk, and then ran, watching these dots. As I stare up, I realize the dots are moving individually and independently of one another. They must be living things, not some strange new graphical effect. At first I'm thinking 'dragons' but these dots were too small. I was running without looking where I was going, and wound up standing at the bottom of a cliff. there was water at my feet, and a rather large bay to my left, while this cliff was to my right. I look up, and the dots were now dropping from the sky. Dozens of htem. I started getting nervous. This is a videogame, after all. I start panicking because as they get closer, I realize they're these dark, orcish enemies; but something out of WoW instead of TES. The first few manages to land, and there was nowhere for me to run. At that moment, the camera 'seperated' from 1st person to 3rd, and I was no longer my character anymore. I could see her. I remember she wound up swimming a bit in Skyrim's supposedly frigid water, but I don't remember how she got away from those WoW orcs. At some point, the 'game' paused, and I was now at 'work', scrambling to find a piece of paper to write everything down before I forgot. It had now become a dream within a dream, because I thought I was awake, describinb what just happened. ... I wound up in a kitchen with my mother oddly. I didn't question 'what are you doing at my job?" instead I started writing the dream down, but my hands were shaking so bad I could barely write. But (somehow) soon the dream re-started. I found myself in a dark hamlet at night, boarding a small bus from its emergency exit at the rear. I get on this bus, and there are people on it that are ordinary, modern-day types wearing T-shirts and suits. I'm at the back of the bus. In the dream, I look around to the people I'm riding with and start thinking "what if they're the WoW orcs, not ordinary people?" This caused a paranoid, panicky feeling all over again. I actually started to ask the people next to me "Are you one of them?" over and over, to the point they get annoyed with me. I figured I'd better get off the bus. Again, I ran! I kinda 'knew' they were after me somewhere. I ran into this dark, abandoned-looking building. Thought I might be safe here. Nope, not dark enough. I ditched the building idea, and decided I'd run back to the hamlet again, which I did, but THEN the WoW orcs began coming for me! Camera switched to 3rd person. and again, I separated from 'me' and could now control a character instead. The WoW orcs did show up, and I'm running through the hamlet, jumping over things, pushing NPCs aside. Trying to get away. That's about it! That's when I woke up, completely.. phew, it was just a dream!
