Health issues and she didn't have access to Internet because of a storm

The bad thing about strokes is that the chances of recurring are high within the first month or so after. Without getting too depressing, the symptoms can be extremely bad from a serious stroke. That is the reason everyone has been so worried.

Do you think...possibly...god forbid, but possibly she had a severe stroke?

The only good news is that I haven't found any death notices.

Her son would've sent an email or something out if anything bad happened. The last time she was sick. Liz got an email from her son. I'm really hoping she's okay, but as much as I hate to admit it, I've got this feeling she isn't

Honestly, if my mother died, whether it be months later or days later, the last thing I'd be thinking about is notifying her online friends. He might have only done it because she asked.

That is why I'm so worried. There's no notifications she's simply hurt.

You're probably right on that, we are likely the last thing on her mind even if she's alright. I hope she's alright but this is probably the longest she has ever gone without checking in. Strokes can cause changes in mental state, ability to function, and memory even if they aren't fatal. I keep hoping we'll see a post from her randomly letting us know she's fine but after this period of time, I've accepted that such a post may not be coming.

Thing is, we may never know for sure.

When my father had a stroke, it was two years before he was even a shadow of himself. Then he passed away a year later. He lost most ability to function, and it changed his personality almost completely. He went from a goofy guy to suicidal and antagonistic. He insulted everyone around him and never remembered it. He had gaps in his memory that were astonishing. I was eight months pregnant, and when he saw me two weeks later, he gave me a weird look and goes "How long have you been pregnant?" and I said "Dad, I'm due next month." and he goes "Oh."

She could have, I hate to say it, forgotten about us. Watch videos on stroke victims and how a stroke affects the memory. Years can be lost, people can be erased. Things have to be re-learned just for basic functions.

That's exactly what I was getting at. Even if she is doing well, she may not be able to even type, let alone remember this site. One of the worst things about online friendships is that sometimes people disappear without warning and you never do find out what happened to them. Tomorrow it could be me or any other member here that disappears without explanation.

Death notices are really the only thing I can check for. Nothing else is a public record, for better or worse.


I just hate not knowing.

Even so, I'm not sure on her last name, so I can't help out with that. I can only keep sending emails and hoping one gets answered.
