Personally, I love that film, though there are a few bits that are a bit dodgy...
Like them giving him a love intrest and not getting the voice actor(who looks like Agent 47) to play the lead? Besides that it's probably one of the few good Video Game movies. I actually liked them giving him a love interest, simply because he had no clue what to do with her. Like when she's drunk and tries to get him into bed, and his response is to sedate her. Or when he lets her out of the boot of the car and she's pissed off, and he says that he took the body out, as if that makes all the difference. As funny as it is, it messes with the charcter too much and adds unnecessary comedy to what could of been a dark movie.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Mar 12 2014, 10:13 PM) I don't see that it messes with the character too much, because it does a good job of showing that he's completely clueless in that respect, as you'd expect, even before she turns up.
Then again, I only played the third game, Blood Money, I think it was? So I'm not exactly well-up on Hitman.
He's barely human until Absolution. He's a cold killing machine, he wouldn't even bother talking to a woman unless it's completely necessary to his contract.

Just completely finished Battlestar Galactica. I'm actually surprisingly depressed to see that I've finished it.
The ending was alright but seeing the final sendoff for all of the characters that have consumed 80+ hours of my life is actually quite disheartening. Especially since they didn't completely tie up a few of the loose ends in the show. Still though in a few years I'll watch it all over again and still be just as entertained to see the crew's random adventures up until the ending.
I always tend to feel a bit depressed after something I have enjoyed immensely has ended. That was the case with Stargate SG1, Dexter, and now it is the same with Battlestar Galactica. If I give it one thing I'll say that it was a show I started without the intent to actually enjoy it but it ended up being one of my top three Sci-Fi favorites of all time.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 13 2014, 03:06 PM) I always have that same feeling of letdown after I finish watching an series. I often don't watch the last episode when I am rewatching the show, just to avoid some of it. But even that aside, you get so used to always watching an episode a day, and suddenly it is gone. Then you don't know what to do to fill the void. Find a new old show to watch on dvd I suppose!
For me it kept me busy for several hours a day on my days off alone for months. Now I'm like: "What do I do with my life?!"

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Mar 15 2014, 06:17 PM) Borrowed Battlestar Galactica off my mum, she bought the whole boxset a while back. Never seen any of it, so it'll be nice to watch a series that's entirely new to me.
I loved that show. Some definite surprises hit you throughout the course of it.

Right now I'm trying to get over the surprise that the pilot is nearly 3 hours long Yeah and after that they're still 46 minute episodes. It will help you destroy tons of free time since there are 75 episodes. The good thing is that the actors work well together to create a believeable atmosphere so that even when the show is at it's slower times (politics) it is still very entertaining.

I am still working my way through The Great Queen Seondeok. I finished episode 26 or 27 this afternoon, so that puts me near a third of the way into it. The story moved into Gyerim a while ago, Deokman became a Nangdo, pretending to be male, fought in a war, and some fantastic palace intrigue. Finally everyone but the King has figured out who she really is.
I am still loving it. Though Deokman the Nangdo seems to lack some of the cleverness, and definitely a lot of the confidence she had beforehand. But I try to put that down to the fact that now she is dealing with more than just assassins and local governors. She is up against MiShil now, who is definitely the top of the heap when it comes to villains.
Speaking of which, Mishil has become one of my all time favorite Evil Overlords. Mainly because she does not go around slaughtering people left and right, belittling her subordinates, succumb to murderous rages, or even fits of mad laughter. She understands that to be a leader you must surround yourself with people. And she is outstanding at manipulating the men around her. She is like a star, who draws everything around herself into her orbit. She even makes an effort to turn her enemies into her servants.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Mar 16 2014, 12:13 AM) 1. Just watched the pilot of Battlestar Galactica.
Damn, that was good, on so many levels. And has raised so very many questions...
2. And I damn near exploded near the start, when I found out that someone involved is a fan of Firefly, and managed to slip a Firefly into it.
1. Told you so. 2. I never noticed!
