QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Mar 12 2014, 02:43 PM) Update on my MIL:
The carotid artery on her left side wasn't flowing enough blood, and she passed out. The reason I haven't updated was because, -ahem-, they told her at the hospital that, uh, she took too hard of a poo. She checked out as quickly as she could and got the REAL results this morning.
THey said that she's in danger of having a stroke, tough, and next week they're going to to an angiogram (or something) and fix it. Some type of surgery. She's already had surgery for that, too, but we're relieved it was caught in time.
Thanks for the well wishes, y'all :]
It's great news she's okay, Liz

QUOTE(Grits @ Mar 15 2014, 03:46 PM) I'm sorry to hear that, mirocu. I hope you can find some way to keep doing your woodworking.
Theres always a possibility to get new machines and all, but I want those old machines with wooden tables and all... My granddad made those and I wanna use them. New machines are soulless and cold and I dont think I want them. Sorry for being a bit down, I just love that workshop so much. I dont even need to work on anything, just being there is all I need to feel good

QUOTE(Grits @ Mar 29 2014, 06:02 PM) Things you learn from your teenagers: the sound of an iPhone hitting a wooden floor, hitting a tile floor, and hitting a concrete driveway. Sometimes all in the same morning.
Why do all people my age not take care of their phones??? I know people who's phones didn't last a month and the phone cost over 100 euros!

Because they don't have to pay for them? Just guessing at your age group here, but I see kids in the Apple Store all the time with broken iPhones and pissed off parents because the parents have to pay for the repairs/swaps. Parents, why do you buy your kids such expensive, fragile gizmos?? What do you expect?? Of course, this is from someone who grew up in an era when the epitome of technology was a Betamax.
