Fortunately I´m used to only having one character in games (you can´t be anyone else but Denton in Deus Ex for example) so for me this has never been a problem. But Lothran is not a jack of all trades, there are many things he´s not good at and many quests he won´t do.

More a case of too reckless for DiD, I think. Got so used to coming up with characters quickly that they just keep coming.

Then stop playing DiD!!

I´d reload instantly if Lothran ever died. It´s not hard to keep him alive at this point but should he die for whatever reason I wouldn´t hesitate to bring him back. I do not wanna lose my dear character and all these years like that...

Actually that's impossible.

I mean you can ignore Salvation but you can't possibly ignore 3 since 3 is the Rise Of The Machines.

The basis for the whole serious, it's not that bad anyway, it's just that 2 is so amazing.

'Fraid I can't do that. If I just reload in the event of death, then the character's no longer mortal. To me, this is the defining characteristic of an avatar, a puppet for the player to "beat" the game. Death is simply a hiccup along the way to completion.

When I'm playing a game with a fixed character, then I'll just reload. But when it's my character, they have to be more than simply a vessel for me to complete the game through.

And besides, being on console means I've got a limit for how long I can play the character anyway, courtesy of the A-bomb. If my character is going to die, I'd rather it be in-game, rather than being a victim of technical difficulties.

This is the Everything Thread. We can talk about whatever we want. Whether its Star Wars, people complaining daily about their jobs or stomach problems or food or being bored or that stuff.

I can, and do, ignore Rise of the Machines. According to James Cameron the story ended with Judgement Day, but Corporate Hollywood wanted to cash in some more which is why 3 was made and the story continued. Cameron didn´t want anything to do with 3 just because the story had concluded.

True, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't show consideration for others in the thread. If you're hanging out with a friend who talks endlessly about one thing, something you're not interested in, you're going to get pissed off sooner or later.

And since the conversation was pretty much running on time-lapse anyway, it seemed the polite thing to do.

Not to poke at you here, or anyone, but every time I come here its like I'm re-reading the same exact thing in different words. Someone hates politics, someone loves NES, someone loathes their job, someone has stomach issues, someone is bored/hungry/crazy/etc.
