I wanna shoot Schumacher for making them, he made Batman into a mockery

I prefer those ones to the newer ones. There they tried to make Batman all realistic, and they just weren't as good because of it. And the third one was an utter trainwreck.

I love the old ones because they get so much right. Jim Carrey as the Riddler was perfect, and seeing Jack Nickolson pull a revolver with a three foot long barrel from the waistband of his trousers is just the sort of crazy the Joker should have. And those films actually had the batmobile

Sure, they were over the top and cheesy as hell, but what comicbook superhero isn't?

I liked the Dark Knight, and Batman Begins was alright from what I can remember (it's been a while). But the Dark Knight was great mainly because of Heath Ledger's wonderful depiction of the Joker, and The Dark Knight Rises seemed like a sequel they felt forced to do. Bane was pretty unremarkable to me, except for a few scenes, there were two many stupid plot twists that made no sense and were pretty underwhelming and for reasons out of anyone's control, the film lacked the one thing that would've made it worth it; Heath Ledger's Joker...

@Vital: Yeah, the first two were good, though I prefer Jack Nickolson's Joker to Heath Ledger's. In the newer films he was more of a straight up psychopath, I don't really think there was enough humour involved for the Joker. Also, none of those gag teeth of his were anywhere to be found

But Dark Knight Rises... Ugh.

And Callidus, you make a good point regarding the lack of humour in Ledger's Joker. There were a few humorous moments but not that many. Guess I just like a good psychopath

Definitely. While Heath Ledger made for a good villain in The Dark Knight, because of the scriptwriters he was a poor Joker.

Some of the best Joker moments, from the films, comics/graphic novels, that I've encountered have actually made me laugh. Genuinely laugh.
