QUOTE(mirocu @ May 7 2014, 09:51 PM) He should have used the eagles to get to Mordor in the first place! Or whose bright idea was it to WALK all the way there!?? Don't you think Sauron would have seen that coming? The Heir of Elendil, The One Ring, and Gandalf flying to Mordor on giant eagles? Not exactly discreet.

There´s no defending this, guys. Sure he would have seen them and sure he could have used the Naz-guhl (SP?) but they wouldn´t have been any match, all Gandalf would had to do is use the light on them and it wouldn´t have been particularly easy to shoot the eagles from the ground. Furthermore, how many friggin times did Frodo get captured on the way and almost died? Using the eagles would have been so much smarter because it would have been so much easier not having to deal with any orc, uruk-hai, olliphants etc etc etc. There is no excuse why they shouldn´t have used them This post has been edited by mirocu: May 7 2014, 10:03 PM

Secondly: Such an obvious approach would have led to the massing of Sauron's forces on the slopes of Mount Doom, tens of thousands of Orcs. They wouldn't have been able to get inside. Thirdly: Sauron being able to see the Ring only strengthened its influence on Frodo, which is why he got so much worse after entering Mordor. Frodo simply could not have survived it. And finally: Gandalf had more to worry about than just Sauron, there was also Saruman to consider. His evil would not have ended with Saurons

Then explain why an ordinary woman could..? Well, the whole "no man could kill him" deal. It's just fate. All they would have to do is drop it from above. Except they had to get into the cavern, so that's out of the question. At that point they're catastrophically vulnerable to arrows. In this approach, Gandalf could have carried the ring and resisted Sauron. Except, Gandalf refused the Ring when Frodo offered it to him, because he knew he couldn't resist the temptation to use it. Not to mention the fact that no Ringbearer could have destroyed it willingly. Frodo couldn't even throw it into his fire, knowing it wouldn't harm the Ring. Gandalf was far more susceptible to the Ring than Frodo, by his own admission. There´s always some cleaning up after the boss is gone And it leaves him in an all but unassailable fortress, with an army superior to normal orcs. Not to mention the problem of dealing with Saruman, who outstripped Gandalf the Grey. As we see when Gandalf speaks of how he was imprisoned by Saruman. Gandalf the Grey could not have done any of this.

QUOTE(ImperialSnob @ May 7 2014, 03:42 PM) Aesop rock has used over 7 thousand unique words in all of his rap, that's about 1,000 more than how many unique words are in Moby Dick.
Aesop Rock is pretty awesome. And the Fellowship couldn't take the eagles because Sauron bought some surface to air missiles from the Russians.

QUOTE(Vital @ May 8 2014, 02:09 PM) Is high school really the best time of your life? It's not that bad but I mean... That's it?!?
I was homeschooled during my High School years, so I don't know. I madeup for it by infiltrating High School parties, though.

QUOTE(ImperialSnob @ May 8 2014, 08:43 PM) @CT now that you started listening to them how much would you give to go to Parahoy? I'd love to go it'd be awesome!
I really wouldn't. It involves being on a boat, and I get colossally seasick, I mean I literally turn green and everything. Add on a couple of other water-related issues and it's completely out of the question for me
