QUOTE(mirocu @ Dec 5 2014, 10:49 AM) QUOTE(Acadian @ Dec 5 2014, 04:42 PM) mirocu, I'm really sorry, my friend. I so admire your cheerful persistence, despite the lousy news.
Well, I knew from the beginning that I only had until Christmas and since I know this guy from when he bought us up and shut us down without blinking I knew he wasnīt just gonna keep me even if Iīm needed. So it wasnīt so bad, the biggest impact was when I lost my first job. After a year unemployed Iīve sort of accepted the idea that I will go from place to place. Iīll manage. At least I still have good money in the bank and I donīt have any loans, despite having bought that īcavator this spring In the US they would have to pay you compensation for making you unemployed without good reason - "Unemployment Compensation" is about 3/4 of what you would have earned for six months after the job releases you; funds to tide you over while you look for another job.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Dec 5 2014, 11:21 AM) As Americanized as we are, we donīt have quite the same rules here it seems. Yet They should, it is the reason a lot of companies are careful not to make you unemployed without valid cause. Some states have countered it by making "Right to Work" laws - the State I live in is one that has that law, they can fire you without cause here - but if you can prove no cause, they still have to pay you the compensation.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Dec 6 2014, 03:05 AM) QUOTE(mALX @ Dec 5 2014, 11:52 PM) QUOTE(mirocu @ Dec 5 2014, 04:49 PM) Think I should move? Lol, it would cost you more to move than you would gain, But think of all the guns I could buy at the grocery store!! Contrary to popular belief, the only guns that can be purchased in grocery stores just squirt water, but the little pawn shop next to the grocery store has a good supply. You used to be able to get married in the feed store here, though.
