Well, I finally washed my car. The car wash was broken the first two times I went but now it finally worked

And now it´s sitting in my dad´s garage to dry up before I can polish it.


Noo... Not Polish.. polish....

So on Saturday, I was out seeing some friends I have not seen since this time last year.

My phone rings and Mrs. Treydog tells me that our oldest cat appears to have had a seizure.

I cut things short and get home to find the cat acting a bit stranger than he usually does. (He is not "social" at all- hides when anyone other than the two of us comes in- is very touchy about being petted- does not know how to "bat" with his paws without using full "Wolverine mode").

So we take him up to the vet on Monday, and he is a wonderful kitty that the lady vet just loves. He gets some fluids, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory med and comes back home. Also gets his "shredders" trimmed- which I would not have attempted for a million dollars.

By last night, he is back to his usual funny, weird self.

So here is what I think happened... no one actually SAW him "having a seizure." All Mrs. Treydog heard was a thud when he fell out of her computer chair and then he came into the kitchen acting disoriented. He is not the most graceful or agile of kitties- he weighs 17 pounds and has a stubby body. I believe he got to close to the edge and flopped out of the chair and banged his head on the floor- there wouldn't have been enough height for him to twist to get his feet under him. He was probably concussed.

But all the attention (plus time and the meds) seem to have perked him back up. So he is back to sleeping around 22.5 hours a day.

Oh, porr little kitty!


Seems like he´s not quite there yet then. I think normal sleeping hours for a cat is around 23.5 hours a day...

To be fair, that's divided between napping, snoozing, dozing, nodding off, and finally sleeping.

All that variety takes a lot out of them

Yeah, they do work quite hard to go to sleep. No wonder they´re exhausted

I´ve soon been here for two years. Just think about the amount of posts I´ve made in that time, and then think about the next two years....

Oh treydog! Glad your Kitty seems to have returned to it's true self...you get sort of very scary When something happens to a beloved pet.

Only had the one lot of fireworks set off 'round here, must have been a ceasefire in effect or something

Well over here they went nuts Though it didn´t last as long as I´d expected.

That´s one thing I like about fireworks; everyone can enjoy them but only a handful of people picks up the tab!

After bonfire night I'm not so fond of fireworks

Being the one setting them off when you're asthmatic is a really bad idea.

Yeah, that can´t be good

It didn't help that some of the fireworks were practically mortars

At least our neighbors here only shoot off fireworks. My old neighborhood shot off guns, lol. (In the air, but after a night of drinking that can be a relative thing - not to mention that we lived uphill from them, lol).
