Good to see some old friends again, all of you have been missed (by me)!

As for me, I'm stuck at home. Not a bad thing really - it's my day off and I usually spend Sundays at home (after church lets out). So it's normal for me.

What's not normal is the weather. We are being socked by blizzard conditions. It started 'round 11 pm last night and is still going pretty strong. Difficult to tell how much with all the drifting we have around here, but I'm guessing between four and six inches, and the official blizzard warning just started an hour ago. According to the National Weather Service, we will be under the warning until midnight tonight.

I am supposed to go to my pulmonologist early tomorrow. But I may reschedule instead of fighting half-plowed roads for 45 minutes. Especially with my shift beginning so soon after that. It's tight to begin with, but if road conditions are still bad tomorrow, I won't be able to do both. Ugh.

Nah. One or two big snow days a year doesn't justify the low MPG's these things get.

My Saturn V6 gets me through the snow just fine. And why would I lose my one excuse to take a snow day? wink.gif

Commiserations or congratulations on the Superbowl, depending on who supported what.

As for myself, I'm back at University today after a 6 week break. The 8AM wake-up was not fun. sleep.gif

So today dawned bright and sunny. And yep, I was up to see it. Doctor's appointment, remember? So ten minutes before I leave the house, she calls. She's sick with the flu and canceling all her appointments for today. So I rescheduled it for March. Yay!

Though with my luck, we'll get one more blizzard March 1st . . . rolleyes.gif

PS - sorry about the 'Hawks, mALX. That's why I never watch sports. We live in Cubs country, here, you know. Kind of colors your perception of all things sports.

Rider, glad your appointment got rescheduled. I'm sure the Nordic mirocu is right about 4WD for where he lives, but I think you are exactly right to tackle your great lakes urban winters with simply front wheel drive and plenty of prudence.

Stargelman, Eeep! I imagine the deer didn't survive, but I hope you and the car are okay.

It did in fact not. Miraculously, the car wasn't even scratched. I got a mild shock from the experience, but the owner of the car, sitting on the back seat, was so drunk he didn't even remember any of it despite us standing on the road for 45 minutes waiting for the police and all. Didn't even believe it happened until he saw the police report!
