I hope the driver wasnīt in the same state as the owner... Kidding, mr Stargel! I donīt think that of you Thankfully the car didnīt get damaged and none of you guys were hurt. A shock can be bad enough, though. One I know hit a wild boar once and thatīs a whole other thing. The left side of the front was not in a good shape afterwards. But neither was the boar...

QUOTE(stargelman @ Feb 2 2015, 01:10 PM) I ran over a deer with my SO's father's car URK! Deer can do some unbelievably bad damage to cars, surprisingly for their dainty appearance. I hope your Father-in-Law and you were on good terms to smooth the damages over in the aftermath; but mostly just hope you and yours are well after such an incident!!!! ** Edit: WHEW! Read your next post, glad to hear all worked out well. What a shock to your system something like that is though, unexpected = traumatic many times. My buddy hit a deer once and it literally left an imprint of the deer in the hood. Afterwards the deer ran off but I doubt it survived. The car was more or less totaled after.

QUOTE(stargelman @ Feb 3 2015, 06:06 AM) I have to add it was a roe deer, so rather smallish. I found it in the fields afterwards, dead as a dodo. And yeah, I practically forced him to take it in for inspection. He didn't want to do it because he didn't see any damage, apart for some small plastic part that got loose.
You're a lucky guy Stargel!

Glad you took it in anyway though, best to be on the safe side. So glad no one was hurt. As for its size meaning it won't do much damage, I saw this helicopter downed by a bird just a couple days ago: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...ike_outside.jpgI'd say that bird was a lot smaller than the deer - you must have an angel that watches out for you! *mALX makes mental note to call Starge to drive her next place she needs to go...* QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Feb 3 2015, 06:15 AM) Heh, my puppy ran off on me the other day when he saw a local puppy running around. The first time he saw him they stared at each other. I left the gate open for one second while someone was talking on the outside and next thing I know he's out there running.
He plays with the two other puppies, one is a stray and the other is our neighbors called Mel. She looks just like mine, except smaller. I have a creeping feeling she's his sister because I found my puppy abandoned after the neighbors that moved left him. I'm positive thy have away their puppies to the other neighbors.
Anyways I was hesitant to let him play burin thought what the hell. When I retu at night around 11:30 he was here at home. He found a hole in fence and he gets through to play out in the empty land in front of us. I sealed off the hole a few days ago to lock him in here but he looked so sad and miserable. So... I led him outside this morning to play with the kids. He looked so happy. I'll post a pic later...
That means I'll have to keep washing him for ticks and fleas...
You sure will! Among other things. This post has been edited by mALX: Feb 3 2015, 06:43 PM

Although I have loved our place in the woods itīs pretty safe to say I will not become its new master when dear dad doesnīt have the strength anymore. Simple reason; our neighbour. If it was just them it wouldnīt be that much of an issue (hmm...), but itīs the fact they bring so many people there all the time and start so many machines and it just goes on and on and on. Itīs an industry now, pure and simple, and both my dad and I are so sick of it. I like having a place to go to and I will help my dad as long as he wants to keep it. But considering the costs it brings it is so not worth having it for me so when that time comes, it will get an owner outside of our family. A real shame since this place has been in our family for generations. But seeing where it has all come to itīs simply not worth it. I have come to hate being there just because of them and I cannot get rid of that feeling unless we get something far enough away from them. Biggest issue is that our cottage is too close to where they operate. I find myself pulling away more and more in vain attempts to get some peace, but I will never get it. Sorry. Just needed to get that off me This post has been edited by mirocu: Feb 21 2015, 04:17 PM
