As most of you are unaware...I'm suffering from a rather awesome memory problem...As I said many weeks ago, last year the Doc suggested that it was likely something really quite bad...And then later on he declared it something less bad instead...So that's alrighty then...

I only mention this because I've just tried to sign in three times because I hadn't got a clue what my password was... ...

I mean, it's only the same one I've had since I started here and all... ...

Ah, me...

Don´t tell me there´s a problem with our forum badger/caveman-with-hammer??

Oh...Um...Yeah...A teenie tiny one... ...

It was obvious at the end of 2013 that there was something proper up, but somewhere around May/June last year said problem ended up costing Boss around £1000 in lost milk... ...So I went to the Doctor's...Stuff/nonsense/blood tests...Monitoring every other month...

So...Basically the Doc initially decided it the symptoms sounded much like the beginnings of early onset Alzheimer's...A-la Pratchett... ...Which was a bit bloody scary...

However, having gone through all my previous medical history, he later went down from that to simply that all the years that I've been suffering from Depression™ and the previous doctors ignored it and told me to basically go away...*Breathes*...Yeah, all that time I've been fighting it has caused many and great bad inside chemicals to start eating at my brain-signal stuff...Hence increasing depression (irony) and memory loss...I am now, according to him, officially classed as mildly Brain Damaged™... ...(However, not enough to give up work and claim benefits...SnassnFrassnIrony... )...

Also hence...The reason why I'm absent a lot...It's just...Stuff...*Shrug*...

Ouch. Sorry to hear that McB. I've been kind of worried about your past mentions of something being wrong, so it's good to hear it's not something majorly scary at least.



As for passwords, these days I don't bother remembering them. I've got a program that generates them for and keeps them in its database. It does mean that I can't log in to any of the forums I visit unless I'm at my laptop, but that's not really an issue.

I knew generally of both your memory and depression concerns, McB. Thanks for putting a finer point on it. Do the docs think things can be halted from deteriorating further or (dare we hope) reversed to some extent?

I hope you know you have many friends here who dearly love the badgerly joy you bring to us.

McB, I’m glad it turned out to not be Alzheimer’s. I hope they can come up with a way to prevent further damage and help you regain some ground. We’re dealing with something similar in the Grits household, and I know how frightening it can be and how helpless the whole family can feel. As Acadian said, your friends here are wishing you well.
