Aha, thats the Northwind Summit dragon! Uncomfortably close to Shors Stone. It looks massive on the ground coming right at Buffy! Courageous indeed to stand and shoot in that situation, with Buffys arrows racing the dragon. What a fabulous shot! I simply love Buffys outfit in the Winterhold picture. She looks especially Elven talking to Eirid. Buffy should teach the lass a few elf tricks. Then Assur will get a surprise the next time they play, and Eirid will want to be the elf! (Jerric of course plans to turn that lad over his knee, but I like Lils suggestion. ) Oh my gosh, Superian on that ridge!! They are magnificent together. New shoes for Superian! Solitude means shopping, after all. Perfect timing in the last two pictures! So neat to see the arrow in flight, especially the one with the arrow and the archer. Those are awesome! Screenie of the month: Winter Wonderland indeed. That picture is just gorgeous. I love how Buffy and Superians colors look together in that light. Beautiful!

hazmick- So very nice to see you back on the forum and visiting Buffy again! Thank you for your kind words. mALX- Thank you! That dragon fight shot was taken right after Buffy released an arrow. So the bow is extended in her left hand, her right hand just loosed the arrow and the arrow itself is actually still in flight just before hitting the dragon. Im glad you liked the Hunt the elf shot I thought it was hilarious. I love how TES horses can go places that would daunt a mere earthly mountain goat. All the blue glowey stuff in her shots are either her mystic (conjured) bow, mystic arrows or mystic quiver. Skyrim did such a nice job with bound weapons that the bow was a natural choice for Buffy there. And thanks also for your nice comment on our screenshot of the month for Feb. SubRosa- Given all that Buffy has taught me about what it feels like to be small and fragile, I am sometimes in awe of her courage. More of Assur the little elf-hunter in todays update! Thanks for your kind words on that arrow in flight action shot. Action shots are not my forte, but a mystic arrow in flight with its trail of magicka is pretty neat when I can capture it. ghastley- Hee! Buffy doesnt aim for the knees. As a prudent sniper, she generally aims center of mass to optimize her chance of reliably solid hits. In fact, when she gets a head shot, she is dissatisfied because she was likely aiming for a chest shot. Destri- Thank you! As I was telling mALX above, the mystic bow in Skyrim has turned out to be absolutely the perfect fit for Buffy the Mystic Archer. Whew, Buffy was delighted to hear your endorsement of the feathers in her hair (since I tease her about them). Lopov- Thanks! Im glad Grits rescued me with the location of that dragon since I didnt recall. On Buffy absorbing dragon souls, the answer will be in todays update! Those slim boots Buffy likes are from her Triss armor mod. mirocu- Thanks! Buffy does seem to thrive up north. Early on, she learned the value of wearing several resist frost enchantments. Her first was a beautiful toe ring gifted to her by Grits Jerric. And Superians saddle pad has always been heavily enchanted against the elements. As you can imagine from her winter wonderland screen of the month, they need the help up there! Grits- Thank you! Im with you in liking Buffys Regal Huntsman outfit an eclectic blending of looks from College robes, vampire collar, light armor, sashes and bling that all blends to suit Buffy well. Yup, Superian gets her shoes from the blacksmith in Solitude! And thank you for always noticing Buffy's screens of the month. I know I've grown to look forward to the monthly glimpse into Jerric's world that you now provide in your own signature. * * * Im finding that, unlike Oblivion, I enjoy starting Buffy anew periodically in Skyrim. This works well since changing mods mid-game can be somewhat problematic. Happily, recreating her in Skyrim is much easier than the same task was in Oblivion. In fact, with one mod I use, it is literally a couple clicks to import her face to a new character (thanks, SubRosa). At any rate, her Skyrim career totals about 1300 hours and we recently just started her anew again. I bring this up because, although her nature, look and style do not change, the details of what is going on in her game do. Dragons scare the pee out of Buffy and she does not seek them out. That said, she will quickly intervene if she encounters one attacking her majestic mammoth friends, or even innocent travelers. Shes learned to fight them rather successfully when required. Her deadly bow and high degree of magic resistance allow her to stand at range, trading her arrows right into the fire or ice of a dragons shouts - and prevail. Of course, if the dragon could actually get tooth, claw or tail into the elf, shed be dead in short order. Once Buffy kills a dragon, shes too small to absorb their enormous spirit . . . by herself, that is. With a little help from a massive friend, however, together they can manage it!Following up on our previous hunt the elf screenshot in the Winterhold tavern, I dont care if you are the Jarls son; if you heckle me one more time while Im trying to sing, Ill turn you into a chicken!Dual casting to double a spells impact means one thing to a mage; it means something else entirely to a mystic archer.Skyrim is a bland and colorless place. See what I mean? Screenshot 1.Screenshot 2.

Great to be back! Haa-Rei can't resist seeing what his old Bosmeri friend is up to. Love that first shot! Buffy's just so adorable awesome I agree that dragons are pretty scary, but there's something just so familiar about all the scales and tails. I can't quite put my finger on it. Haa-Rei always has the Bend Will shout handy so he can just have some stern words with any dragon, without the need for all that shooting and stabbing nonsense. (Also, dragons don't leave their nests until you get to a certain point in the main quest so we've got it all worked out.) Also love the last two shots, those autumnal colours of The Rift are gorgeous! This post has been edited by hazmick: Feb 10 2015, 09:41 AM

That dragon's mouth open that way looks like Buffy would have just been a morsel swallowed whole! Scary, and that doesn't even look like a particularly large dragon either!
Aw, and Superian getting some Dragon Soul healing too - I like that a lot! Not just for the idea and thought behind it, but the shot itself is stunning! Awesome shot!
Now this one is my favorite, not just the fact that you can visually see the bristling between Buffy and the Jarl's son, which is absolutely hysterical anyway - but I had to note the fact that Buffy and the Jarl's spawn are the same height, lol.
I had trouble understanding what I was seeing in the double spell image, but love that blue light display and the glowing arrows illuminated by it!!!
Ah, in the last two screenshots Buffy is in my favorite place in Skyrim! Awesome shots, all of them !!!

Superian is the Dovahmare! That reminds me of The Dovahbear! Buffy looks cold in that tavern outfit. She should bundle up in some furs! I love the double whammy on the Draugr, and the blue glow coming out of it! Skyrim certainly looks bland and colorless to me!

Buffy's dark side? I approve!! Surely a letter of assassination would tick anyone off. I don't know. I realize Buffy has tremendous abilities with the bow. She's awesome with it. But in the Dark Brotherhood? Woah. Twist. But for infiltration, I suppose that's reasonable. Unless she kills Astrid, haha. Hmm. She did good. Lycus style . . . go in and butcher everyone At least the kids are safe . . . On the second update, I do get a kick out when you call them druglords. Don't know why. It's hilarious. I'm guessing Assur won't be doing the hunting . . . Oh, bland. I see just how bland and colorless it is. And Valenwood is a desert, am I right? Beautiful screens here. I like that Buffy is enjoying Skyrim.

Before I forget, I use this pic as a new background on my laptop. It's almost hard to imagine that a small being like Buffy brought that giant red dragon down. But once again it shows that one shouldn't judge men and mer of how they look like. So she absorbed its soul together with Superian, that's a nice touch, they both shared some of dragon's essence this way. It almost seems like Buffy has wings on her back. Buffy looks great in tavern clothes and the look on her face should be clear enough for the Jarl's son. Magic effects look really cool in Skyrim as we can see in the blue light coming from the Draugr Lord. Yeah, the last two shots are really bland and boring. I suppose the second one is another candidate for my future background. Great shotzzz! This post has been edited by Lopov: Feb 10 2015, 08:22 PM

Oh my gosh, that dragon is massive! Buffy looks very determined in that picture. I can imagine her mystic arrows piercing frost or fire to bring it down before it can stick a fang into the archer. The light looks lovely on Buffy and the fallen dragon. Buffy and Superian are such wonderful companions. Superian helps her absorb dragon spirits! A mage and her magical horse. That glare between Buffy and the Jarls brat made me spit tea. I love their expressions! Buffy is turning up the heat in her tavern outfit. That circlet looks lovely with it. Dual casting looks so neat. Wow, great catch! Bland and colorless, lol. Both of those shots are breathtaking. I love how the different light changes the color in the same trees. Buffys world is beautiful, but even more so because Buffy is in it.

hazmick- Thanks! I had to chuckle over Haa-Rei identifying with dragons due to their reptilian family resemblance. And I see youre another fan of playing Dragons Lite. mALX- Thank you! That Double Impact shot is the second of two arrows hitting that draugr. The blue starburst effect is the magicks from Buffys mystic bow. Heh, I think Buffy likes the kids cuz she can talk eye-to-eye with them instead of having to look up like when she talks to grown ups. Glad you enjoyed the pretty Riften colors! SubRosa- Dovamare indeed! One spin off from bringing Buffy magically across the barriers between Cyridiil and Skyrim is that Phantoms spirit now resides inside Superian instead of Buffy. An untold story behind that, but it boils down to (as the song says) dragons live forever. And so do dovamares. Thank you! DE- Thanks! Im glad you enjoyed Buffy taking down the DB. They started it, after all. We still havent decided who was behind the original contract on Buffy. I recall draugr from the Baldurs Gate games. I think I started calling them druglords when I first saw a draugr overlord in one of Aravis vids. Lopov- Gosh, Im so very flattered that you would grace the background of your laptop with a Buffy screenshot! And thanks for the kind words. Buffys magic resistance and mighty bow really help vs dragons as long as she stays out of melee range. I like her in that short tavern dress as well. Given her small size, modest build and youthful appearance, Buffy can easily get away with the higher hemlines. I wish there were a few more knee-length dresses available. The vanilla ones tend to be ankle length and the mod ones tend to be toooo short. Grits- Thank you! You are so right about Buffy and Superian. The mare is such a precious companion to Buffy and factors heavily into every decision the elf makes. And Superian has indeed become much more magical over time. The guards dont even flinch anymore when Buffy brings her into the cities now. I do think we have more mods and tweaks to support Superian than Buffy! Thanks also for always noticing and mentioning Buffys screenshots of the month. I know that I eagerly look forward to each of your monthly glimpses into Jerric-land. mirocu- Thanks for dropping by, my friend! * * * Apologies for being slow on updating. As the song goes, All she wants to do is dance! Or play, in Buffys case. Seriously, Buffy is voracious about dragging me into Skyrim for many hours each day and it is so easy to get lost in time there. And despite now nearly 1600 hours of Skyrim play time, we still struggle over settling the elusive elf down in a few areas and that makes it challenging to chronicle her adventures as you have no doubt noticed. One day she may start out traveling with a bear but, by the end of the day, might have a fox and flame atronach in tow instead. Im not soliciting help, just sharing our biggest challenge at the moment. On the other hand, quite a few things are now solid for her in Skyrim and I thought Id share some glimpses under the hood - - The only weapon Buffy will pick up is her mystic bow and the weapon has numerous unconventional magicks. The bow is conjured, but not on a timer. Rather, it remains as long as Buffy allows a small constant drain on her magicka (less than her regeneration rate) to sustain it. She cannot cast from the saddle, so she conjures the bow on the ground, shoulders the weapon, then mounts. The bow is very attuned to Buffy, helping the weak elf pull and maintain the powerful weapons heavy draw. And when necessary, the bow will even assist defensively by augmenting the elfs naturally pathetic 'bow blocking' into an effective bash that will often briefly stagger foes. As the bows arrows are made of magic, enemy armor is no impediment to the missiles finding their mark. Most interesting perhaps is the bows appearance. The bow does indeed show as brightly blue wavering flames to non hostiles somewhat like a detect life divination spell does. This helps allies easily spot the otherwise elusive elf in combat and more easily keep track of her. To hostiles, however, the bow appears as if made from the very shadows themselves somewhat like a wavering wisp of dark smoke. - Superian now carries the spirit of Phantom. The dovamare is still no fighter, but her survivability is great enough now that it lets Buffy bring the mare more places and worry less. Indeed, Buffy has an impressive arsenal of tools to protect Superian that range from a spriggan-like ability to blend the mare into her surroundings to fully reabsorbing Phantom (and Superian) within herself. The mare has also outgrown the need for saddlebags, as Buffy can now conjure a magical chest large enough to store Superians tack, camping supplies and even Buffys considerable wardrobe. - Buffy has also wrestled with her associations. She likes friends lots of them, yet she flourishes only when untethered. What echoes strongest in her mind are the words of Countess Odalys of Kvatch who urged Buffy to remain a free knight. So she may well be one of those wizards from the College in Winterhold, sing for her supper at a tavern, or even have sunrise chats with her friend Azura. Always at home in the forest, when she observes a bear defending her cubs, she sees the love of Mara. When she dances with butterflies, she feels the free spirit of Kynareth. Getting all of Buffys support and trappings sorted out is important to me because she actually would like to start sharing some short stories of some of her adventures. And, while I dont think well ever undertake to fully detail her considerable history after the Battle for Kvatch, I do at least want her to be consistent in how she operates so we can make effective use of tools like flashbacks. Given my wordiness, I only want to share one screenshot today. Buffy has discovered makeup it seems. Unfortunately, it takes Acadian and some mod magic to apply it. So, if you can imagine an old paladin trying to put makeup on a young constantly wiggling elf. . . . That said, I think we did okay as I learned about lip gloss, blush, eye shadow and liner. Then Buffy insisted we add a bit of war paint. In fact this is one of my favorite screenshots of Buffy to date.

QUOTE They started it, after all. We still havent decided who was behind the original contract on Buffy. Sounds to me like Buffy's been a little troublemaker lately. Or maybe she pissed off the wrong people, and by wrong I mean the non do-gooders. We understand, Acadian. You and Buffy have been drawn into Skyrim. The province of the Nords is appealing, and beautiful. It calls to everyone. Hmm. Spirit of the Phantom for Dovahmare is nice. I expected Buffy to pimp improve her trust steed. Can't have yourself learn new powers and skills to defeat foes while our best four-legged allies remain the same, can we? But we are glad you stopped by and gave us an updated on our Bosmer's whereabouts. While I personally would love to be there to read Buffy's new story from the beginning, we can still enjoy and appreciate her adventures in Skyrim through awesome visuals you two provide. On the screenshot-Skyrim hasn't done a thing wrong to Buffy . . . I think she's immune. Bet she had tons of flowers from the men(or whatever people in Skyrim give as gifts to their romantic interests). Great update, Acadian. Thanks for the insight.

Good to see you and Buffy back again! QUOTE To hostiles, however, the bow appears as if made from the very shadows themselves somewhat like a wavering wisp of dark smoke. "Must be imagination", they think and in the next second what seemd like a wisp of smoke, kills them with a well-placed arrow. QUOTE So she may well be one of those wizards from the College in Winterhold, sing for her supper at a tavern, or even have sunrise chats with her friend Azura. The whole update is great but this part is my favorite - it tells a lot about her and her unpredictability which in fact makes her all the more interesting. As others have said, Buffy really looks amazing in that shot - not only her beautiful face but her circlet, jewels on feathers (not sure if these are jewels), warpaint and her clothing contribute to her good look too. Together with the background she comes across as really mystic which is exactly what she is.
