You shouldn't lose anything.
The upstream server that's trying to pass the mail on will retry when it re-appears, I don't recall if the standard is for the Mail Transfer Agents (MTA's) to ask the neighbors if they have any mail, or just take it when it's offered. I think it may be the former, as your mail client then looks just like any other MTA in that respect.

When you send someone an email, here is what happens: - your email program sends the message to your ISP's SMTP server - Your ISP's SMTP server tries to open a connection to the target SMTP server that is responsible for delivering emails for the domain contained in the email address (It gets the network address of that server from a special request to the domain name service, type MX for Mail eXchange) - If that server is available, it will deliver the email to the target user's inbox on the server, from whence it can be fetched via an IMAP or POP3 server - If that server is NOT available, it depends: if it's simply not reachable, further attempts will be made after an amount of time has passed which depends on configuration. If the email server is there but indicates an error, it depends on the error code: if the code indicates a temporary error, further attempts will be made later on. If the error indicates a permanent condition (no such user, address is blacklisted etc) then the delivery will fail Hope that sheds some light on the matter.

Truthfully, I can't tell if I lost any mail or not during the couple hours it was down, but no one has complained so far, lol. Thank you so much!

QUOTE(Elisabeth Hollow @ Apr 26 2015, 11:39 AM) Here's a linkExpect it to run like my fanfiction. Messy at first, but the details come out better the further I go along. I tried to price it at 99 cents, but the lowest they would let me go was $2.99. I did enroll it for the promotional thing where they push the book and lower the price and offer it for free occasionally. Looks great! Is it possible to put an excerpt on your Amazon page, sort of as a teaser, or show a page preview from the book so people get a taste of your writing style? Ive never published anything, Im just thinking of things that might draw a reader in.
