Funny you should mention Halo. Last night I was reading a thread about the backstory to the games and everything. Got me feeling like playing again. So I dug out a voucher I've had since I traded in some games a year or so ago, and picked up Halo 3, 4, and Reach. £7.50 for the three of them. biggrin.gif

I'm not gonna say what I'm thinking, because it's not gonna do any good.

But this thing never had to be made public.

The Kentucky Derby = the biggest/oldest race in the history of the United States. The one that defines the breeding programs and validates them.

QUOTE(hazmick @ May 2 2015, 04:06 PM) *

So I've finished this year of university, at last, and aside from a shorthand exam in a few weeks time I don't have to be anywhere or do anything until uni starts again in September! laugh.gif

In a further bit of good news it looks like my money saving has paid off (pun intended) and I might finally be able to afford an Xbox One.

A spot of good fortune that these two events have coincided. biggrin.gif

That was a stroke of great luck for you to have money in your hand at a time when you don't have to spend it on books and can get a game instead, lol! Woo Hoo on rhw XBox One!

My son has finished his finals too; should have graduated but he changed majors last semester so has another two semesters left now.

I need an XBox One too. My Elite broke last year, my son let me use his and the puppy broke it and the Fallout 3 disk that was in it - so I'm seriously looking into getting myself one or sending both our XBoxes to the shop to be repaired. The only reason I haven't yet is because I went ahead and bought them for the PC, and now I don't want to go back to not being able to mod the games, lol.

I didn't either, for which I was grateful.

I'm fundamentally opposed to the concept of monarchy, and besides bringing in tourists to gawp at the palace, it's not like they actually do anything. We have a monarchy simply for the sake of having a monarchy, which is about as dumb as it gets.

2 broken xbox's in a year!? That's rough luck. sad.gif I've only had two 360's (including the one i'm currently using) in the past decade. You PC gamers and your darn mods wink.gif

Too many games coming out now that are "Xbox One and PS4 only". Time for an upgrade.

It is the history of your country; the traditions set out from its beginning. So many countries are losing their native tongues and modernizing their countries to suit the times - I think it is refreshing and honorable that Great Britain has held her ground and stood by her lifelong traditions. It is something I've always been really proud of on your behalf.

I lived in Germany for two years and traveled as far as I could go in every direction (France, Monte Carlo, Belgium; and went as far as the border of Italy, Spain, and Switzerland - but didn't have the $400 to cross the borders). I'd love to have seen it! laugh.gif

rollinglaugh.gif Yeah, but one was mine and one was my sons. He'd had his XBox since 2005; I had one too but when mine broke I turned it in on the warranty and traded up to the Elite. My Elite got the RRD, so I borrowed my son's XBox. The puppy knocked it off the table while I was playing Fallout 3. Broke the disk and the XBox.

So last Thanksgiving Steam was having a sale on Fallout 3 GOTY/Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate/and Skyrim Legendary - I got all three for almost nothing. Now I don't care if I have the XBox or not, but I probably will one day want to kick back on my sofa and put my feet up to play a game, lol.

Yup, too good to pass up. The Master Chief Collection is tempting, but I've no interest in getting an XB1 anytime soon. I've got too many 360 games I haven't finished, and no room for a second console.

And to be honest, with what Microsoft tried to pull with the XB1, I don't trust them.

I changed from Trend Micro to Avira antivirus today, and so far other than a short period of getting oriented on how to use it - really pleased with it. It found three items that Trend Micro obviously let slide, that impressed me - and while it was scanning I was able to do things on my computer without it lagging like crazy, which I could not do with Trend Micro even while it idled. So so far Avira = goodjob.gif
