QUOTE(mALX @ May 9 2015, 09:06 PM) Making you rebuy the games, lol. I've already re-bought the games for the PC when my consoles both broke; so I think I'll have to forego buying the XB1.
It says a lot about the majority of gamers when all it takes to get them to rebuy a game for a new console is basically a shiny coat of paint. And it also has the bonus for microsoft of padding out their range of games for the XB1, which is, at the moment, what's holding back both of the next gen consoles. QUOTE(mALX @ May 9 2015, 09:06 PM) It would be nice if this new "more like a computer" type console could allow for modded games, wouldn't it?
Ah, but then you'd have to buy keyboard and mouse peripherals to mod properly, need to sign up for the paid version of xbox live/psn, and probably have to buy the program to mod the game anyway. At that point, would it really be worth it? They might even be able to get away with charging for mods on consoles. *shudder*

QUOTE(mirocu @ May 9 2015, 04:45 PM) You´re such a nice mom You know, he is such a great kid - he has never said a word about me breaking his 360, but I can tell it upset him not to have it to play on. I bought him a new computer for XMas, because I didn't want his XMas present to be me replacing something I broke of his, lol. His XBox worked steadily from 2006 till I borrowed it, I owe him this. I was wondering about the game lineup for the new consoles too, because if they aren't going to make them backwards compatible, and there are no new games out there to go on them; that is going to be one expensive dust collector sitting on the shelves unused. What do you want to bet that the Fallout 4 console game will require XB1? Just kidding.

QUOTE(hazmick @ May 11 2015, 08:53 AM) so the Xbox One is doing well so far. Everything's very shiny and 'next gen'. Master Chief Collection is almost done downloading (this is day 4 or 5) and I've played through Halo 1 and 2 Anniversary editions. Now I just need more games to play. Hope all you Americans had a nice Mother's Day. Still nibbling at my dinner here. MMMMMMMM!

QUOTE(mALX @ May 11 2015, 09:53 PM) Can you take it after it was sold? Did the new owners allow it?
Not sure what you mean. Nothing was sold and no new owners Oh, you mean the garage at my parents´ house? Oh, no, not that garage. This garage is at a relative´s place. He´s bought some land adjacent to his old land and is currently renovating the house but he doesn´t want to keep the old garage. He was gonna tear it down and haul it away to the dump when he caught wind of us looking for something like that This post has been edited by mirocu: May 11 2015, 09:01 PM

Now I´m confused So you meant the one we´re getting from the guy who is gonna rent my parents the house? Well, we might not get that anyway. We think it´s too wide for the road up to our cottage so we may have to order a new one (which will arrive unassembled) after all But then we have the opportunity to get it exactly how we want it No, I was talking about that workshop I've seen pictures of for years now - where you make things in wood. I thought you owned that woodshop/garage. I don't know any details about who owns what - just thought that workshop was the garage you were talking about. (Sorry, I was obviously wrong, lol).
