Yay, Persephone in Cyrodiil!! She looks almost luminous in that jail cell, as if dirt dare not touch her. Ooo, I love her hair, and her really big sword. Captain Piccard looks like he doesn’t quite know what to make of her. Lol, a brown-pants moment for Ormil. No need for sunscreen. Dockside is my favorite of this group. Persephone looks as great as ever, and slim Darryl, too! I expected that Persephone would have no patience with grave-robbers. Aw, it’s always sad to see her with the long-dead fragments from her past. Help the Light is my favorite from these, Persephone looks so lovely. And her ‘back’ looks quite nice in Looking Back. Persephone is in Lord of the Rings! That’s Aragorn’s line when they pass the Argonath. I thought of that scene when I wrote about Jerric and Martin in the Great Forest, since if memory serves that is the first time that the future king is visible in the man. Hammerfell Pass and Colovian Sunset are my favorites in this group. What’s an undead girl to do? Excellent lair! It breaks my heart for Persephone that she anticipates the needs of a possible mortal guest. She seems torn between reaching out and turning away. Lopov, it was great to see Vion make his way in the Isles. It’s so beautiful there! I haven’t seen most of the locations. The sky and light and those mushrooms look amazing! My favorite is reading Saints and Seducers, because, well, Vion! And Vion finds himself in another court. I think he was wise to keep a low profile there. Lorenz Bog-Trotter is my favorite picture. What a neat shot, and a fun story. mALX, Maxical had such an adventure confusing everyone in the prison! It’s great to see her again. The dead-not-dead emperor was very creepy. I like the one resting against the stone wall the best.

QUOTE(Renee @ May 21 2015, 03:52 PM) Welcome back to Cyrodiil, Maxical. Enjoy your stay.
Thank you! QUOTE(Lopov @ May 22 2015, 09:07 AM) Agarmir got what he deserved, as did his accomplice. It's funny how not playing OB for some time made me think that Agarmir is accompanied by a Khajiit in the tomb, I even checked it on the UESP. Looks like I mixed it up with the quest in Bravil where you have to find the missing husband, and there's a Khajiit archer at the end. -- Mania He got a lesson in Blade from Big Head. Point them out, never in! so thinking too hard was pointless. Vion found his skull and returned it, so Lorenz was finally liberated and thanked Vion by healing him. When you said you thought his accomplice was Khajiit I thought you were remembering the "Collector" quest where you are ambushed by one of Umbacano's other adventurers and his friends (of which one is Khajiit). This is probably the prettiest screen I've ever seen of the Isles! For some reason I never think of it having beauty - maybe because it has been so long since I've played it; I don't have Shivering Isles for the PC, and my 360 broke last year. But it definitely looks beautiful in this screen! BWAAHAA! Big Head's tips on blade, Do you get a skill up for listening? "Thinking" had me in stitches, how did you get Vion to make that face? It looks exactly like you captioned it, lol. I LOVE that one! I made the mistake of returning all the skulls at once - kind of defeats/wastes the nice blessing you get for helping them. But I love that quest regardless of the blessing. Great shots, and once again - I can't help raving over what a great job you did on Vion! He is a work of art! Creepy is a perfect description, it sent a shiver down my spine to see him standing up looking like that, he never moved (neither did the assassin behind Baurus) - but it still kind of shocked me when Baurus said he had failed him because that is when I realized he was actually dead standing up. It has been six years since this save was started, but I think what happened that caused this glitch - I'm pretty sure I left the jail cell using the console. I had heard about "Coc Testinghall" and wanted to try it out - it took me out of the jail cell, and I couldn't get back in, didn't know how to use clipping or "unlock" then; and when/if you come through from the Dark Brotherhood quest way it resets everything differently. (I haven't done that quest, so nothing has been reset). If I'm not mistaken, that is why everything is weird in there. The reason why I think that is - Maxical doesn't have any "Birthsign" or "Class" listed on her journal stats.

Wow, Mania is colorful even in the fog! Alocasia looks like the most inviting food in the Isles to me as well. Big Head knows what he is talking about! Sounds like good advice! Leaving the madgod be sounds like the sane thing to do. Neat, I have heard you can 'rescue' the ghosts on the Hill of Suicides, but none of my characters ever managed it.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ May 21 2015, 07:02 PM) Most of the places in this last round were added by Unique Landscapes - Cloudtop Mountainsbtw, does anyone know where the quote "Long have I desired to look upon the kings of old, my kin." is from? Persephone's story came together for me a while back. She was born a slave of the Ayleids, and took part in Alessia's Revolution. She was killed in the battle to take the Imperial City, which is where he life took a turn for the weird. A necromancer named Haides - who would never call himself a necromancer - got ahold of her body. He was seeking to defeat death itself, by creating eternal life. He was a Pre-Modern Prometheus. Haides even has a theme song. He replaced Persephone's heart with varla stone crystal, and essentially wired up her body with more of the crystal, like veins. He transformed her, so that she would subsist off of magicka, rather than food, water, and air. Her heart gathers in magicka from the sky just as the Ayleid wells do, and then redistributes it through her body, like a giant battery. Of course he had to cut out her real heart to do this, and reanimate her. It worked, and she came back. But not alive of course. She is as undead as any Lich or Wraith. Persephone was only the prototype. Haides planned to make many more like her. He went to Alessia to sell the idea to her. He could make her an entire army of undead warriors, who didn't need to eat, or drink, or sleep, or feel. But she turned him down. He was a necromancer after all. Then she ordered him to be arrested. But Haides escaped with Persephone. He fled to Skyrim, since it was the only other human-ruled place in Tamriel. He tried to make more like Persephone, but failed every time. He did not realize it, but he had made her within White Gold Tower, and its own natural magic had been a part in her creation. In time, Haides fell in with a group of necromancers. Then he fell out with them. Naturally a lot of killing was involved. It ended with the ruins they were laired in collapsing, and Haides being run through with a broken support beam. Dying, Haides gave Persephone her freedom (He had created her heart in two pieces, the big part in her chest, and a smaller piece on a ring he wore. But both were connected, and functioned as one). He took the crystal from his ring and put it in her chest, fusing it with the rest of her heart. Now finally free, Persephone strangled him. She still does not know if it was an act of revenge, or mercy. Persephone's history is amazing, I love this! Necromancy - Now in both my stories I have had a theme of necromancy underlying or overlaying the storyline because to me it is an area that - no matter how black and white they try to make it, necromancy really is a gray area. There has always been a fine line between necromancy and the study of medicine. Even to this day the medical schools bring in cadavers for the students to learn on; people whose remains are made wards of the State because there is no family. Here in TN they are placed (after their use has been fulfilled in the classroom) onto a "body farm" where forensic science learns about decomposition from them - all are kept above ground, but some are placed in water/mud/sunlight/shade/etc - to mimic the different environments and study how these differences effect the process. One of the prominent politicians in this area was a surgeon/physician that had (unsupervised and unauthorized) practiced on cats he adopted from the local shelter - with no survivors. Let me tell you, I would not want to be a patient of this man's. (Bill Frist): http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2002/12/31...35461041383589/Then you have to look at Steve Austin, the 6 Million Dollar Man. Was that necromancy performed on him, or technology? * Then you really hit on another thing that has fascinated me from day one in TES lore - the untapped power of these magic stones like Varla and Welkynd stones. To have Persephone kept alive eternally via a Varla stone is as AWESOME as it gets, I WOO HOO'd over that! OMG, the addition of the White Gold Tower meaning she will always be the only one - this is fascinating !!!! I am loving this background story !!!!! So when you say Persephone was "born" at Lipsand Tarn, was this before the necromancy and Haides or are you referring to her "rebirth" by Haides when this took place? Awesome background story! *

I used White Gold Tower partly to make her unique. But also because it is more than just a building. Like The Throat of the World, or Red Mountain, or Adamantine Tower, etc... it is a place of special magical and mythic significance. Persephone's undead resurrection was really out of the ordinary, so I thought it demanded some out of the ordinary power to make it happen. Persephone was born the first time, for real, as a living baby that poops and pees in Lipsand Tarn. Like I said, she was born a slave of the Ayleids, and she took part in Alessia's Revolution. She died in the battle to take the Imperial City, and afterward was resurrected in White Gold Tower.

mALX: It is weird that both Maxical and Peresphone went off in opposite directions and each found a suicide victim! You pegged it on Lord of the Rings. When I saw those two statues on the stairs, I immediately thought of the scene at the Argonath, with the two great statues of the Gondorian kings of old. Acadian: It might be a good thing that Persephone cannot feel what it feels like to feel. After all, being dead probably would not feel very good. I imagine that what she feels the most is cold, all the time. Sadly, Persephone has neither horse nor phantom, so the Call of the Corsair is lost upon her. She still remembers when that young lad Rislav learned it however... Her new lair is in part for the isolation that Persephone needs in order to "let her hair down" and be herself, without worrying about what mortals will do if they discover she is undead. The other part is that the Colovian Highlands are her homeland. While she was born and raised in an Ayleid city, places like Colovian Horn are human made. They are among the oldest places to belong to her race, not her masters. So there is a powerful dose of nostalgia, from those heady early days of freedom, before death and Haides took her. Lopov: Persephone cannot ever pass up a grave. As Acadian pointed out recently, it is probably someone she knew. Back in my Teresa fic, I established that Alessia's Revolution began in Lipsand Tarn. I don't remember if the actual books in the game agree, they are kind of vague on a lot of things. But I am keeping Persephone's story in line with my own Tamrielic mythology. Persephone was one of the first freedom fighters, right from the beginning of the Revolution, so she had to be from Lipsand Tarn as well. I really liked the idea of an open-air lair as well. Though I suspect Persephone may not be as keen on it once it rains... Grits: One of the plus sides of being undead is that even the dirt is afraid of her! Persephone is packing trollfs Empire Greatsword. I found it a while ago, and have been waiting for the right character to use it with. Help the light find my face is from one of Persephone's theme songs. I instantly thought of it when I saw that picture. Persephone is always torn between reaching out and turning away. That is another one of her songs in fact. One one hand, everyone she meets is going to die and become one of those skeletons she sometimes finds laid out on a funeral bier. On the other hand, she wants to feel what it feels like to feel, and she wants to be better than what she is. To feel the new wind of change, on the wings of the night. It seems the orcs of this era have no need for shirts...Marching back to Chorrol with the Odill family, their farm now safe from goblin attackPersephone tries to remember what the blessings of the Divines felt likeSome light readingHome sweet homeStill readingThis is probably the sixth or seventh major revision of Persephone's face. Hopefully the last. This post has been edited by SubRosa: May 23 2015, 06:13 AM

* Gaaaaah, I miss Teresa's story so much! QUOTE One one hand, everyone she meets is going to die and become one of those skeletons she sometimes finds laid out on a funeral bier. On the other hand, she wants to feel what it feels like to feel, and she wants to be better than what she is. To feel the new wind of change, on the wings of the night.
Holy Cow, this is a tremendous roleplay/background for Persephone. What a powerful paragraph that is, and what a struggle she endures with time having no meaning. Hard to make friends when it only means to see them shrivel before her eternal youth. But maybe if someone cared enough, they would want to offer themselves to her for summoning, to aid her in battle once more. Be that summoned Skeleton Champion, etc for her. Oh, I just love her story so much! * Is that the Chorrol Fighters Guild? Lol, you must have an Orc enhancing mod; he looks nothing like the Chorrol Fighters Guild Orc in my game, Urk, the Odill boys. I HATE that quest! It is like the Bruma Great Gate battle or the Farwell quest, I have to redo it hundreds of times to leave there with both boys intact! This Wayshrine is at the end of the road west of Chorrol, isn't it? I love that area. Will Persephone have the Fighters Stronghold DLC Battlehorn Castle down there? There is a necromancer that lives in the dungeon below it, which may tie into her storyline. Ooh, she is reading the two books you told me about! And I love the sad cat climbing on her back!!!!! It looks like he is kneading her back with his paws, my cat used to do that, lol. Home Sweet Home - I am floored by this circle of landings you made around the tower; your landscaping job here was spectacular! I picture a small table and chairs on one of them to watch the sun rise or set, the sky is just gorgeous and being on top of the mountain it would reap every ray of light in every day. (and shooting stars at night too - I've seen them in game in the mountains!). I used to go up to the mountains here to watch the shooting stars - they seem so much closer there; it feels like you can reach out and touch them! I absolutely love her face in this last shot - I can't tell what was tweaked because she has been wearing a hood a lot and her face was not angled this way in other shots - but she looks very cute in that screen! Her face shape is wonderful, I really like it a lot! Awesome update! * This post has been edited by mALX: May 23 2015, 05:43 AM

QUOTE(Grits @ May 22 2015, 06:11 PM) And Vion finds himself in another court. I think he was wise to keep a low profile there. Yeah, one court was enough for him, no need to get involved with another. But at least Sheogorath would probably be more funny than his father. QUOTE(Acadian @ May 22 2015, 08:23 PM) I figure when in the Mad God's church, one worships the Mad God. Hehe, I thought this too at first but in fact the sacellum is dedicated to some prophet Arden-Sul, who apparently ruled the Shivering Isles a long time ago. Most about him is shrouded in mystery, though. Maybe Arden-Sul is just another name for Sheogorath. QUOTE(mALX @ May 22 2015, 08:45 PM) BWAAHAA! Big Head's tips on blade, Do you get a skill up for listening? "Thinking" had me in stitches, how did you get Vion to make that face? It looks exactly like you captioned it, lol. I LOVE that one! Yes, you do get a skill point, it's a reward for returning the Fork of Horripilation to Big Head. You can choose to either get a lesson in Alchemy, Blades or Sneak. QUOTE(SubRosa @ May 22 2015, 09:07 PM) Neat, I have heard you can 'rescue' the ghosts on the Hill of Suicides, but none of my characters ever managed it. I didn't know about this quest at first and it never officially appears in your journal. Some Dunmer from Deepwallow told Vion about his sister who was cursed because she committed a suicide in the Isles and told him that if he found her remains, she could be freed. I forgot about this but then Vion found Limark's skull in Milchar. When he returned the skull to Limark from the Hill of Suicides, he was liberated. Unfortunately no pics of Limark's liberation exist but he was the first soul which Vion freed from the Hill. I spoiled myself and read what is the final reward for doing this quest on the UESP - you can reanimate a corpse. Definitely a unique spell but it won't be of much help to someone like Vion. He'll still try and liberate other souls if he finds their remains, though, just for the sake of de-cursing them. The topless Orc piqued Persephone's interest, it seems. Good to see both Odills safe and sound, my characters were rarely that successful. What a grea shot of Persephone trying to remember blessings of the Nine! Nice pictures from her lair, I love the cat on her back.

The orc with no shirt is doubtless trying to compensate for his lack of tusks. Aww, helping the Odills. Blessing of the Divines = Dat Butt! Light reading – Adorable. And a kitty! Persephone’s home is a bit run down the location and view more than compensate. You’ve done a wonderful job with her face and she looks great!

mALX: I basically replaced the orc head meshes with the human ones. So now they don't look like pigs. I notice Bethesda did the same in Skyrim too... I only had to reload once during the Odill farm quest, so I count myself lucky. The stupid boys run off to battle without any armor at all, and carrying iron longswords. The goblins had better weapons. I got lucky though, and an Imperial horseman came over the second time to help fight the goblins. No Battlehorn castle for me. I don't like how it adds all the people who suddenly become your servants. I know that is all the rage in games these days. It seems everyone wants to have a castle with an army of retainers. But not me. I didn't do any landscaping at the tower, or make those landings. Those were all from the original mod. I just swapped out one of the sections to the tower and replaced it with another that had an opening, so you could walk inside. Then I just added furniture. Lopov: The Odill's are difficult to save. Usually I try to pack a spell to heal them, and heal them up between fights. That is my secret for keeping alive the npcs the game forces on you for certain quests, like retaking Kvatch. Acadian: Maybe that is the secret to Lum's shirtlessness. Or perhaps he thinks he's too sexy for his shirt! I noticed when you are that close, you can see her panty lines though that leather... One of the nice things about Persephone's lair is that she gets both amazing sunrises and sunsets. Renee: The lair is nice. But all this home improvement stuff is a lot of work! I did some more work on the lair, adding catwalks up to the upper storiesI turned the hole in one wall into a proper observation postI added a second bed, and moved it and the original one into an alcove in the wallI am still not sure what to do with the upper two floors thoughLiving on the edgePersephone came to HackdirtShe sawShe conqueredThis post has been edited by SubRosa: May 25 2015, 10:33 PM
