I think I may have friend SubRosa beat by almost two years. I meet her Sep 2012 post and raise it by this quote from Episode 33 of Buffy's Book 1 posted here in Sep 2010 -

Now, that said, I did not invent the quote. I first heard from a an old aviator way back when I was a young aviator. Sage counsel methinks, and most appropriate for both Pappy and Kud-Ei to share.
