Graduations are in the air - must be spring! Congrats, Saquira. I'll bet you're glad school is done. Playing with puppies all day sounds like a wonderful job! tongue.gif

Thank you everyone smile.gif Yeah, it's going to be great to work with dogs all summer. Of course, in august I'm going to continue my studies as I require grades in some more subjects to be able to apply to my programme of choice at the university, but there's no reason to worry about that yet.

The students who graduate from our school actually have a reputation for getting hired right away, and I'd say that's true since most of my class are gonna start working right after graduation. Though considering what some of my friends are going to be working as I really think I drew the long straw.

Hi, what is this thread for?

Hi, Immortal Blood! We have two threads dedicated to general topics, the Coffee Shop and the Everything Thread.

The guidelines for this thread are in the very first post. Folks tend to use this thread to post things like personal news and their own real-world happenings. Since there is no spamming even our members who only check in occasionally have a good chance of seeing things that are posted here.

I dont think we have a chat room any more, but the Everything Thread is a place to put chat-type discussions. There are some guidelines for the Everything Thread in a pinned topic at the top of the forum. Also when discussions go off topic in other threads we tend to take the party to the Everything Thread.

This is just my interpretation of how folks use the threads, but I hope it helps.

Thank you, I was trying to leave posts so the system sees I'm not a bot etc, etc...

It was the only valid question I could think of haha.

Also, it didn't work as I still can't send messages sad.gif

I think you have to make a certain number of posts in the General threads before you can send a message, or you may be able to post a comment on his story too, not sure - but after a certain number of posts it allows you to begin sending private messages.

Sad news guys. Christoper Lee, actor known for his roles in films such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings among other great films, and also his great history in the military and armed services as a real-life Nazi hunter, has passed away at 93 years old.

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Well, cant complain with 93 years. Never saw him much except in Star Wars, he was really intimidating iirc.

That is sad news. I first saw him as Dracula from the old Hammer films. Peter Cushing always played Van Helsing. Funny how they both ended up in Star Wars movies.

Ron Moody, too. He was best known for playing Fagin in the movie Oliver!, but also starred in Legend of the Werewolf with Peter Cushing. He was 91.

Oh dear, I'm going to miss Christopher Lee.

I always liked him as Dracula in the old Hammer movies. Yes, like SubRosa, that was my first Lee experience.

What struck me most about him was how mobile and versatile his facial expressions were; he became every role he ever played with such an intensity that his face contorted to the part. He was as believable as an Asian Fu Manchu as he was a vampire in Dracula, and every role in between and beyond - his facial appearance almost completely different for each role. I think one of my favorite of his expressions was the intensely brooding look - eerie & ominous, and you knew it didn't bode well for someone.

That kind of talent - I haven't seen it in any of the modern actors and actresses, what a tremendous loss.

Just thought Id post this video, its quite fascinating. The (supposedly) only outside people to ever have been inside the building of a Bilderberg meeting in history. And even if they arent the only ones in history to have done this, its remarkable how they were allowed to stay when lockdown occurres. Just watching this video was very creepy and unsettling.

No one posted yesterday about the amazing event that happened in America and Mexico??

Gays and lesbians can now not only get married, but receive full spousal benefits that they were currently denied!

There's s till a lot of work to be done, but I'm celebrating, my husband is celebrating, and a lot of my friends are thrilled to be able to marry their partners now, and not have it dumbed down to a "civil union."

Woo Hoo! I know several people who have waited for a long time to hear that!
