Squirrels? Are they Werewolf familiars or something? biggrin.gif

The new Fallout does sound cool-

Radiation storms blow in across the landscape.
You can decide to use critical shots once a 'bar' fills up, rather than it being random.
Mods are coming to Xbox 1 and PS4. Creation kit still only on PC though
When playing modded on console the game also preserves the pure game file so you can use it again.

Tasty!

Sorry mirocu. As you were. biggrin.gif

If you want a specific thread in which to post Fallout 4 nonsense, Kobby made this one. I´m sure we can use that one instead of making a new one with basically the same headline biggrin.gif

Edit: 85 guests!??? blink.gif Is one of them a real person or are all of them banned bots from yesteryears!?? panic.gif

Re-edit: 119 guests!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Re-re-edit: 130 guests present!! Are they multiplying as I type!?? panic.gif panic.gif

Re-re-re-edit: And now they´re 154. Bah. I´m gonna stop updating this I think tongue.gif

And now they´re down to 8! rollinglaugh.gif

Nah, I am happy to have it lost in other posts, do not worry about that. After all you and mALX seem to be here the most and are happy to converse with useless people like me. It almost feels like therapy!

I am just bored at the moment and am trying to decide if I should play some more of my level 24 Dunmer on Oblivion, read some Stephen King or go to bed.

With FO4 I guess I will see the specs before I decide. Mods are always important, I can see already that we will need an alternate start mod to fix the linear start that Beth always loves to force on us. But if mods are going to be on Xbox 1 that will be really cool. So who knows?

Fun fact:

A woman in the UK claims to have built a time machine.

Out of a Delorean.

Yeah. dry.gif

She's taking it for a test tomorrow

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/where-shes-going-...25.html#5V2DdCM

I don't know if she's crazy, or if we're about to hear an announcement that they're making a reboot of Back to the Future.

Although time travel is possible. Just not quite the way you see in most movies. Gravity dilates time, so does moving near the speed of light. Because of the first the clocks on gps satellites have to be slowed down, because time moves faster for them up in orbit than it does down for us here in the tight grip of Earth's gravity. So all astronauts are also time travelers.

The thought occurred, as thoughts tend to at 3am when you can't sleep, that considering the size of the population, million-to-one chances happen thousands, perhaps even millions, of times a day.

To me, this is a distinctly depressing thought.

It is all in what that million to one chance is though. How about winning the lottery? Or beating some grand champion at something? Million to one, that is a good thing!

My million to one shots tend to be the kind of little oddities that leave you wondering "how on Midgard did that happen?", with no significance to them whatsoever.

And at the moment, getting a solid wight hours of sleep is a million to one chance for me. And not one that's turning up. sad.gif

Bless your heart, nothing feels as good when you are not getting enough sleep! Is it your asthma?

My son had asthma too, when you have it you need to sleep with an air conditioner on cold and a dehumidifier in your room if you can stand the noise. It is the only way my son could sleep in the summer months.

Hey! Stop using the Everything thread for reasonable, coherent posts! Save that for the Coffee Shop thread! This thread is for spamming, spamming and spamming! laugh.gif

Hey, that is not my fault! I came here expecting somebody, anybody to have already made a thread about the soon coming Fallout game, so I could discuss it with reasonable like-minded people, but no, that was too hard for people to be bothered. Instead I am surrounded by people that refuse to play modern games and spend their time building up 2000 hour characters with millions of gold and bottlecaps. Is it my fault that others refuse to 'get with the program????'

Please read the above statement tongue in cheek. I am just having fun. biggrin.gif

There really is a thread or two on it, but everything on them is repeated here for good measure, lol.

I don't like the idea of something having to fill up for a crit shot, I think they did that to make it harder to be overpowered (can't just alter the crit chance anymore)

And by the way - I LOVE it when you are bored and just drop in!

BWAAHAA !!! Well, whoever she picked to go with her could take it into the past, get rich, take her 75 years in the future; kill her; then go back to just before she told anyone about this; and then THEY could announce they had made a time machine and want to take Donald Trump - take him into the past and usurp his ... etc, etc, etc ....

SubRosa has it backwards. Anyone who is being affected by gravity is time-travelling, because they're experiencing the deviation from the rate of time passage for the inertial state. nono.gif

Yeah, I was thinking that. It is hard to explain. Basically gravity warps space-time. The higher the gravity field, the slower clocks tick in it. But not for the rest of the universe outside the gravity field. So time is basically moving slower for us on earth than it is for those satellites in orbit. What is really funky is that in the singularity at the heart of a black hole, time seems to stop, or maybe it just does not exist at all?

These days my asthma isn't much of a problem, the doctor switched my preventer a while back and it hits like a truck. My asthma was never bad enough to stop me sleeping, though it put me in hospital more times than I can count.

The problem I'm having is that it's simply impossible to quiet my mind enough to get to sleep. I try meditating my way to sleep, but one stray thought and my mind starts freewheeling. Once that happens I'm fighting the tide.

At the moment I'm averaging 3-4 hours a night, enough to keep me functional, but it's starting to wear me down.

Camp NaNoWriMo next month is going to be tricky.

If I'm stressed over money or something that happens to me too, it's like my mind is moving too fast to drop off to sleep.

There are some things that help; like putting a TV in your room and watching some favorite show or movie you love (but with the volume way down so some ad doesn't blast you back awake).

What it does is give your mind something to dwell on that isn't stressful; so it relaxes.

Unfortunately TV wouldn't help. The only film I've ever fallen asleep watching was Reign of Fire, an utterly abysmal film. Anything else and I will stay awake until it finishes. And I find watching TV in the morning to be a pretty effective way of clearing the cobwebs out of my head. At the moment it's the original Transformers cartoons smile.gif

My mind pretty much runs at that sort of speed all the time anyway, which is why I have to try to empty my mind. Unfortunately my last attempt at using a meditation technique to clear my mind and help me sleep left me somewhere between being asleep and awake, with none of the benefits of either state.

And of course, lack of sleep means I'm getting worked up over things easier, making getting to sleep even trickier. sad.gif

Edit:
Speaking of which, time to make an attempt at storming its bastion.

Night y'all

Have you tried reading before sleep? Most times my e-reader falls flat and wakes me up slightly before I even know that it has happened. Rolling over and switching off the lamp takes little effort and soon I am asleep.

Thanks for the kind words mALX! I love the attack pose for that squirrel. I would hate to do astronomy at night outside and have that little guy next to me. It would scare the life out of me!

Speaking of astronomy time travel is certainly possible. As mentioned by above posts a space ship that leaves earth and returns will find that more time has passed on earth than it did in the capsule. So time travel is really only a question of engineering.

The real question is whether backwards time travel is possible.

And that all comes down as to whether we can travel faster than the speed of light, or perhaps warp space-time so dramatically that a worm hole can cut the distance between two points in space.

Time will tell. Pun intended.

Urgh, my hair is the very spirit of anarchy.

I've decided to grow it longer, don't know how long yet. It might come down to how long it gets before it becomes annoying. Thus far it's resisting all attempts to keep it under control.

Which means that I wake up looking like a reject from an anime. laugh.gif
