A few years back, we had a "white supremacist" rally here in Knoxville that got counter-protested by.... clowns.

When the racist goobers chanted "white power," the clowns responded "white flour?" and pulled out bags and dusted each other with it. They then moved to "Oh- white FLOWERS!" and gave blossoms to everyone. And after that, clowns in wedding gowns showed up, chanting "WIFE power!"

It was a beautiful scene.

On another, completely unrelated note, my hair has reached the awkward stage, where it's both too short and too long to do anything with

I feel you, man. That was most of my summer, right there. Now it does the swooshy thing I like.

Swooshy thing? Just how long is your hair?

After years of cutting my hair really short, I still find the feeling of it moving around kind of weird. Especially when I turn my head sharply, and it doesn't stop when the rest of my head does

My son did the opposite; his hair was long all his life, and about a month or so ago he cut it all off really short.

Yes, it sure did! Plus his face looked rounder and much younger - but he was really surprised how much less shampoo he was going through; and how much better condition his hair stayed in without all the conditioners and treatments.

With his long hair he looked like a rock star, without it he kind of looks like a baby-faced Barney Rubble

(Urk, I hope he never reads this, lol).

Thus far there's only one thing I don't like about having longer hair. Everyone tells me that it suits me, and that it looks much better than when I had it really short, but I do miss being able to dry my hair in a couple of minutes.

Gaaah, I'd be in big trouble if he heard me say he looked either baby-faced or like Barney Rubble, but a combo of the two and ... I'd best not sleep nights,

On the hair care - yes, and he had to straighten his with an iron or it was wild with waves like mine was growing up; and ironing really ruins the condition of your hair; dries it out. (I ironed mine too, lol).

Heh, I've been warned to expect my hair to be wavy. I have literally no idea what I'm going to do about that.

Years ago, before I started cutting my hair to shorter than half an inch I tried using gel to stop it going all over the place. I never found a gel that was up to the task. If it couldn't be controlled when it was still fairly short, I suspect no power on Midgard will stop the waviness.
