'rocu, I've got a cold, too! Called out from work today due to the darn thing settling in my chest. I can't move or talk without going into a coughing fit. With my lung issues, not a good thing.
I'm spamming tea with honey, zinc tablets, echinacaea capsules (in the tea), oranges in addition to my morning cranberry juice (for the vit C), Advil and cough drops. So far, as long as I stay still (in front of my Skyrim game, natch) I'm good. Hopefully this won't develop into the ugly thing I had for two weeks last April. So far things feel normal (for a cold).
So feel better, 'rocu!

Thanks, you too! I got this cold from the guy building the garage at our place in the woods who got it from another customer. Maybe we should have hired someone else, me thinks..? As bad as it sounds Iīve spent the day in front of the puter, but since Iīm not 100% I really couldnīt do much else. Also laid on the couch for awhile and talked to the cat who just stared at me with her usual expressionless face... But yeah, hope you feel better soon too, h-e-r, and may the force(not TM) be with you!

This has been an 'interesting' day. My roof has been in sorry shape for some time. It is being repaired and reshingled as we speak. (Well, not literally. The sun has set.) The crew doing the work fell behind schedule by several days. What should have been completed NLT yesterday drug on into today. They might have been able to finish today except this was our first rainy day in weeks, and the last such for at least another week. What's more, rain began several hours earlier than expected, before much work was done. The workers covered what was not complete and departed, vowing to return should the front moved out soon enough.
Not long afterward I'm sitting at the computer and suddenly hear a rapid splat splat splat that sounds to be coming from the attic hatch a foot or so from the desk. Oh oh! I grabbed my flashlight, to find one of its batteries corroded. I went to grab replacements. There were none. I opened to hatch and was immediately splatted by water. At that point I turned off and unplugged the computer, made a quick run to our local grocery for batteries, returned, and braved the attic.
I soon found the culprit, water dripping steadily down a nail above the hatch. Being above the hatch, I was able to get by placing buckets at strategic spots below, leaving the hatch open. So far as I can tell, water did not touch the ceiling proper. No great harm was done other than parts of the hatch getting soaked and several damp spots on the floor from before buckets were placed. Alas, rain didn't move out until sundown. Workers can't fix the issue until tomorrow.
As might be imaged I was sweating bullets for a while. And of course I was unable to use the computer until the dripping stopped and the hatch closed. I actually watched over-the-air broadcast television for some hours to while away the time! Been ages since I last did that.
I suppose I should be thankful the leak was in the one spot where, if noticed in time, significant damage could be avoided.
