Wow, thanks for that. I was going to do a search next week but you have saved me the effort. I wonder how many of the 60 landmarks will make it?

Boston Tea Party. Wasn't that where 'freedom from onerous tax' got mixed up with freedom in general and Americans have got the two things mixed up ever since? biggrin.gif

Glad that you sorted out the pre-order mALX. It would make sense if you gained a perk or the game arrived days before the general public. But 4 days later. Crazy.

Pre-order for Forza 6 meant bonus cars and getting the game about 5 days earlier than the general release. That way it made sense.

Yeah, I always pre-ordered and got some perk. Fallout 3 I got a special armor; and I think in New Vegas a special gun. I think GTA gave you a special car.

ESO gave pre-orders the "Adventure Pack" with their pre-order; (but some time after the game released they opened that Adventure Pack up for sale in the Crown Store with Crown Points.

Usually all those pre-order bonus items are released to everyone at some point. Either as dlcs, or just all tossed in when they get around to releasing a Game of the Year edition (or Ultimate Edition, or Super Ultimate Edition, or Super Duper Mart Ultimate Edition, etc...). When I bought New Vegas it was years after the game had been released, so I got the super edition with everything, and that included all the pre-order bonus stuff.

Yeah; and as long as it is bundled in something else the person has to buy; and/or with a gap in time or as a special given by a store, etc - I don't feel ripped off by that. But if they say you get a bonus for pre-ordering and then bundle it with every order for everyone, then I feel I've been duped by the company to get the pre-order.

Gamestop actually did give a bonus for a preorder of Fallout 4 if you were buying the XBox One with the Fallout 4 bundled in it; but just for the game they gave nothing, at least in our area. I noticed GameStop in 3 European countries did give perks with preorders for it.

Steam is giving the pre-orders the early playing of the game, though; which tells me that we will need Steam to play it when it is released. So I may as well buy it through Steam anyway; if I'll need them to play it.

I will not give too much away but it looks like the game is set in 2287.

Bethesda have decided to move the game forward in the time frame. Very interesting.

What does this mean in relation to BOS and Enclave....

I pre-ordered Oblivion for the XBox 360 and got the disk rated "T" instead of "M" - by the time it hit the stores they had changed them all to an "M" rating. I have had many people wanting my "T" version game, wouldn't trade/sell it.

A new collectible!!?? ohmy.gif

What are the Chorrol members thoughts on weapon and armor condition.

Should it be dropped for FO4?

Do you wish it stayed in the series?

Do you miss repair hammers?

I for one would like to keep repair needs. Itīs enough a shooter as it is and I wanna keep the details that seperates Fallout from CoD and other such games.

I agree completely. Having every gun at the same condition in a post apocalyptic setting spells disaster. Perhaps they are hoping that we will not notice with all the weapon mods. Too busy collecting adhesive tape...

The best bonus I’ve seen so far is a poster, which does not appeal to me. I suppose it can be recycled, though. tongue.gif

Just kidding, I’m sure my son will grab it. He’s been trying to play FO3 since Friday as a warmup but this weekend is too busy.

WW, awesome pics of Melbourne excitement! Woo! biggrin.gif

They (Bethesda) seem to really be into making 200 year time gaps in between their games lately. It created some roleplay issues for bringing your characters from Oblivion to Skyrim; but maybe with all that radiation exposure Misa could have survived 200 years. It would explain why she is an old married woman. But I sure hope they don't limit how young we can make our characters in Fallout 4 like they did in Skyrim. I was really ticked off that my character was forced to be middle aged (and uglier than a two headed snake) till a modder could fix her when Skyrim first came out.

Ditto this. I like the realism of deteriorating weapons and armor that needs repaired regularly.

Fallout 3 was set in 2277, and New Vegas in 2281. So it's not a big jump. Here is the timeline. The 200 years you are thinking about is probably the time between the Great War (2077) and the beginning of Fallout 4 (2277). But there was always a huge time period between the war and the Fallout games. Fallout 1 was in 2161, so it was 90 years after the war. Fallout 2 was 2241, so it was 160 years later.

I did not miss removing the need to repair weapons in Skyrim one bit. Playing Oblivion it got to be really tedious how you had to repair your weapons and armor after every fight. It was fight, repair, fight, repair, fight, repair. It didn't enhance my roleplaying experience. It just annoyed me.

But in the Fallout games, one thing I like is that fact that everything is junk. Garbage and cast-offs are treasure in this universe. It is a hand-me-down world. Choosing your weapon based on how likely you are to find spare parts for it is part of the experience. So is using a gun that is falling apart in your hands. So I would not want to see weapon repair disappear. I was really disappointed how New Vegas made the Repair skill only matter for crafting. Anyone with a Repair of 10 could buy weapon kits and fix their gun up to 100 percent quality.

Ooooh, that timeline is Awesome! They even have the abductees on Mothership Zeta in there! Thank you for that link !!!

A weapon repair system is fine as long as it's well balanced. I still have nightmares about Far Cry 2 when you'd shoot a clip or two of pistol ammo and the gun would be covered in rust and likely to snap in half at any moment.

I thought Fallout 3's was just perfect; and the ability to use similar guns to repair others had the bonus effect of being able to repair your weapon while out in the field and emptying out your inventory some at the same time - great benefit for players who do a lot of long term exploring in the Wasteland.

I think Fallout 3īs weapons degrade maybe a little bit too fast. Then again, they werenīt pristine to begin with after so many years, so itīs fair I guess kvleft.gif

I liked this too. I would always pick up the really common weapons like hunting rifles for loot, because I could repair them all into one that ended up with a high value, because its condition would be so high. It is a good weight to value strategy.

Yes, I pick up the Super Mutants' hunting and assault rifles; raider armor; Enclave laser guns, etc - repair as high as I can and sell.

And in the beginning of the game (before I started using your Awesome mod) - I used to repair armor to the highest level and if it got torn up in combat I'd just switch for one similar but in better condition; at least till I got a particular armor I wanted to keep on the majority of the time like the Reilly's Ranger armor or the Chinese Stealth.

The reason I mentioned the timeline is because I remember the huge debates at Beth forum. One camp said that it would be set before NV, the others said it would be just after. It was a east versus west thing and many people said the games would have little impact on what the other was doing with two separate timelines.

Jumping forward 10 years is really exciting for the main story as

I like SubRosa's comment about hand-me-down weapons. That is exactly what Fallout 3 felt like and the game worked perfectly. It would hate to see Fallout going the same direction as Elder Scrolls.

mALX- Yeah, Melbourne still has nice weather and little pollution, but things are changing fast. We are heading down the path of LA gridlock on our roads and will end up with 5 million population if the government has its way. I love astronomy and the clear sky is important to me so I am not happy.

Thanks Grits and Mirocu. The tram looks awesome!

You should show concerned groups pictures of the Amtrak trains in America side by side with that spotless tram; and think about all the lung disorders and cancer in America - they may think twice before allowing pollution to taint that gorgeous untouched land.

EDIT: WOO HOO! (on the spoiler), is that confirmed?
