No, nothing is confirmed, but you bet your bottom dollar that is the reason they decided to push the game out a little.

**

I have already watched some of the 'new' footage of the game. Zenimax is running them all down faster than the roadrunner. Nothing I saw ruins the enjoyment of day 1, however I was a little concerned that the hovering looting information does not show us the weight of the item we are going to take. That is madness. How will we know how much we can take? Perhaps the transfer button will give us that detail?

And the texture detail looks very steam punk to me. I am hoping that it is only the low resolution on the vids. I enjoyed it on Dishonored, Borderlands and Rage. But not here.

Ironsights looks fantastic though. And combat looks just as smooth in 1st or 3rd person. I am impressed.

Uh oh, I wonder if they are going to use "Inventory Slots" like ESO uses? Where you can carry a certain number of items and that is it; urk. It is really irritating in ESO because items don't stack, so you can barely carry anything. I hope not, that will be really aggravating.

No, not there! I am talking about looting, not upgrading.

Edit- Just saw a vid on the entire male customization.

Oh well, must stop searching for these vids. Ha!

And this is my current desk top pic. Credit to the author.

Nuka Cola

Double edit- The female customization is now out. I am refusing to look. Ha!

I just watched a basic starter build video since I am new to SPECIAL, and I am pretty excited. Most of my Fallout experience is looking for the damned door in Fallout 3 and then not wanting to shoot the mean dogs. I think I may be able to play this one!

I got the "Animal Friends" perk = no more mean dogs! They sit down beside you now, the Yao Gai make a purring sound and roll on their backs for the player to scratch their bellies - I love it!

Rank one = they won't attack the player anymore and act friendly (unless you attack them unprovoked, of course).
Rank two = they will defend the player against raiders/robots/super mutants (but not against other animals that you have attacked and provoked).

Ahh, I see the joke now. You would think after 6 years I would be adjusted to SubRosa's sense of humor.

Oh well, off to play some Mass Effect. One week to go!

Countdown Clock

Goodbye and enjoy the game people!

**

And one last teaser before I go. This shows the size of the Fallout map in relation to the goggle map. Is is great to show us the size and scale of the game. Don't worry, the Fallout map is not full of locations.

Even so, do not click if you are concerned about spoilers.

Fallout Map

Spoiler alert-
And look what is located top right! Woo hoo!

Love that countdown clock! laugh.gif

Canīt help but feel Boston was an odd choice for the next Fallout game. Is there a specific reason they chose that area?

Oh, that map is great! And I normally love the countdown clocks too, but I'm not watching it this time (not going to be getting the game for a while).

They always pick places that are well known by everyone; even by people who have never been there. (The DC area; Las Vegas; now Boston - it fits right in).

Boston is such a hugely well known place historically that even people who have never been there know the landmarks.

I've never been to Las Vegas, but immediately recognized the strip and the military bases; and only been to DC a few times but knew all the landmarks. Same with Boston, was there once as a child and knew several landmarks there from class lessons in elementary school, etc.

Ah, thanks for the explanation smile.gif

Even I knew about Boston but I never thought of it as big and well-known enough to make a game set in it.

It didn't look that big on the map WW linked, but it should still be awesome!

TBH, aside from its brief role in the American Revolution 200 years ago, I know almost nothing of Boston. Good Will Hunting, is about all I know aside from that, and that MIT and Cambridge are there. So Lexington and Concord, Boston Harbor and its so called Tea Party, The Battle of Breed's Hill (not Bunker Hill), Washington with his guns on Dorchester Heights I know. And The Constitution is anchored there. Otherwise I have no idea.

I know more about London, Paris, or Berlin and their landmarks than I do Boston.

I had to do an in depth paper on the Battle of Bunker Hill in school, and it got me interested enough that I joined a group 50 miles from my home that did Civil War reenactments of the battles. My role was as a nurse, bandaging up the wounded; but these enactments were spectacular! Everyone was in full costume; and the group I joined all owned horses (we rode together when there wasn't a reenactment to go to); so any mounted soldiers they represented were mounted for the reenactments. (and the meet was usually followed up by a big hoe down style square dance afterwards). A ton of fun!

I loved the history of Great Britain and France too, though!

Looks like Beth screwed up a gun again; in Fallout 4 the bolt on the bolt action rifles is on the left side.

The LEFT side, people! And yet you fire it like a right-handed person!!! blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

*cries in corner*

*stops crying in corner*

I know there are bolt action rifles made for left-handed people and all, but then you wouldnīt fire it from your right side for a bunch of reasons.

Sorry. Iīll stop this now. I just realized Iīm not even getting this game anyway rollinglaugh.gif

I went to a Civil War reenactment once at Fort Wayne. It was pretty neat. They even had a cannon, which they fired a couple times. They only used about half the powder they normally would, and obviously no shot. But it was just deafening when that thing went off. And the cloud of smoke blanketed the field around it. I could only imagine the thunderous roar of hundreds of those things going off, and the bitter black powder-smoke that must have choked the air all around.

These people used some kind of powder in their muskets that made smoke and a loud bang too. Even the extra women who played as nurses got period nurse costumes to wear; and the uniforms for the soldiers were amazingly well made and realistic looking - they did not look neat and clean, either; they looked like they had actually seen some battles.

The first one I went to, I had to keep being prompted to treat the wounded, because it was hard to stop watching the battles and keep in character when stunned by how awesome it was seeing all that going on. I loved it; and it was SO much better done than the western type gunfights at Dollywood.

By the third one I went to, I had my roll down pat - learned from watching some of the other "nurses." It was still hard not to watch, but I learned how to keep my head bent over the wounded soldier and wrap his wounds while watching out of the corner of my eye, lol.

Well, today's Fallout 4 vid that came in my email looked really linear. I hope this is not the case, but won't find out for a while due to cancelling my order. So, I am interested in what everyone else has to say about it. Is it really open world or are we "steered" where Todd Howard wants us to go in it?

Also, anyone who did get it = feel free to start a spoiler thread so you can make me drool and regret my decision to wait on getting it, lol.
