QUOTE(mirocu @ Feb 26 2016, 02:18 AM) Blimey, krikey, OīRielly, you really made a good deal there! The whole set is worth 2000 dollars but you got it for 20?? Even if they were hard to sell, how could the store take such a huge loss? I better not ask what you had to do in order to get it that cheap.. It was a place people bring their unwanted used items and leave them to be sold. This set had never been used, it could have been a wedding gift for someone who didn't realize its value; and the lady at the store didn't know its value either. I didn't know it, and if it wasn't selling I'd say no one else did either. It just looks weird and kind of ugly by the handles; but the part you eat off of looks beautiful! It is high gloss and really fine stainless at that end, and that is what caught my eye. Yeah, it was most def a good deal. And who buys place settings for 20? But I'm kind of glad there are that many. This way - if he wants to; my son can sell half of them and still have enough for his own use (or sell them all and buy a regular set of flatware at WallyWorld, )

No the set is priced at $2000, but is worth $20. Because that's all anyone would pay for it.
However, as mALX points out Manufacturer's Recommended Price may be used when valuing for insurance or loan purposes, so that's the way to use it.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Feb 26 2016, 03:57 PM) Eveninī Just came back after firing up the motorbike. Even though itīs a couple months left before taking it out for a ride, I just wanted to let it know it hasnīt been forgotten... Yes, as motorized vehicles are inherently female; best not to ever let them feel neglected... QUOTE(ghastley @ Feb 26 2016, 04:05 PM) Just firing it up can be bad for it. If you don't let the whole system (especially the exhaust) get up to normal working temperature, you can get condensation rusting out the pipes. And that usually means some time on the road to give it a proper work-out, as there's no load if you're just stationary. What Ghastley is saying here is to close up the garage and run the bike in neutral for 30 minutes, "rev"ing it frequently ... er ... NOT !!!!!

I do let it become hot in order to let moisture vaporize and to let the oil and cooling circle around thoroughly. Maybe around ten minutes or so on idle with the occasional rev. Better than not doing it in any case as I found out. One winter I didnīt bother and I ended up with a clogged up carburetor due to the gasoline vaporizing and leaving behind a crystilline smudge. A box of candy can of oil is better than flowers, she may be allergic!
