QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 7 2016, 05:48 AM) QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 7 2016, 10:42 AM) 3 has a lighter tone than Vegas? From what IŽve seen of Vegas I think that game has the lighter tone. I think 3 is pretty dark and gritty even with 3Dog on.
I don't recall anything in 3 on the scale of walking into a town that's been destroyed, through an avenue of people who've been crucified, to be told by a well spoken man that it was little more than an object lesson. Unless the dlcs get really dark, I don't think 3 has anything to match The Legion in New Vegas. New Vegas is filled with gray areas and moral ambiguity; where as Fallout 3 is closer to black and white. If you are traumatized by the scene at that one town, then you go after Caesar's Legion with a vengence = join the NCR. That is not the only crucifixion in the game, they want you to either hate the Legion or identify with them (for evil characters). But in Fallout 3, you kind of don't get the choice to be evil unless you just go around killing and robbing, cannibalizing, etc. So technically, the Fallout 3 game was trying to push you into being a good character; whereas New Vegas actually does give you a choice and doesn't call it evil if you join the Legion because the morality is a gray area in NV. (much like there is a different viewpoint of morality in the real Vegas as opposed to Virginia, etc. )

I ended up going with Fallout 3, because of the extra content(most of which I haven't even seen! ) and fewer bugs. I've just thrown my level five character, named Avner(I don't actually know why), into Operation Anchorage, for early power armour training. That, and he got curious about the radio broadcast.
