QUOTE(mALX @ Apr 12 2016, 03:37 PM) QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 12 2016, 09:56 AM) Yay for monkeys What about Yay for Puppy-Monkey-Babies? QUOTE(mALX @ Apr 12 2016, 03:46 PM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 12 2016, 10:35 AM) Urgh. Playing New Vegas today just reminded me why I never bother with companions in Oblivion...
I LOVE the companions in New Vegas! I got a mod that lets them "relax" if you go into a casino or at your residence wherever that might be. I had a mod that made Victor's Shack a little more like a home; and I went in and put down a bunch of NPC Idle Markers - brought my follower there and told her to "Wait" while I hung out there for a while (so she wasn't dogging my footsteps) - and she sat down on the floor in front of the fire, sat at the bar, warmed her hands, etc. - It was AWESOME !!! Sure, they're nice enough, and useful, but sometimes... *shakes head* I just had Ed-E float out into the open to take on three turrets and two robots singlehanded. And once he'd moved I couldn't get him back to safety. And my last save was twenty minutes or so beforehand So my floating fridge/workbench(seriously, at this point he was just carrying steaks, weapon repair kits, and components to make more) got himself blown up

Ed-E is a fun companion, too. (though impossible to sneak with him around, lol). QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 12 2016, 11:22 AM) So, you´re saying getting games on Steam is better than getting them on cartridges? No, not better. Just convenient at times. Like I used to bring my laptop to work and play video games on my lunch hour; and I had to bring a bunch of disks that could get broken or lost/stolen. Not to mention, the cheap price for the games, I picked up the Ultimate New Vegas; GOTY Fallout 3; and Legendary Skyrim - all three for under 33.00 US Dollars. (I already had the basic Skyrim disk, but none of the DLC. Even though I wasn't playing it, I thought I might want to try the DLC's one day. And on Fallout 3, I only had it for the 360, and my dog broke the 360 disk). QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 12 2016, 10:35 AM) Urgh. Wait, did Oblivion even have companions?

I always bring him along, just because He's no the most helpful, but I love the way his laser sets things on fire QUOTE(mALX @ Apr 12 2016, 04:37 PM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 12 2016, 10:35 AM) Urgh. Playing New Vegas today just reminded me why I never bother with companions in Oblivion...
Wait, did Oblivion even have companions? Not really. But you could get mooks to follow you around into combat. They were about as useful as they sound

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 12 2016, 02:22 PM) Not really. But you could get mooks to follow you around into combat. They were about as useful as they sound I got Vilja for a while, she was pretty good; though I had to go through her voice files and remove some lines I didn't like from her repertoire. (she griped/whined a lot, and sometimes if you were nice enough to give her spending money she would scan your inventory gold and call you a cheapskate if she didn't think the amount was high enough compared to your gold count - I took that condition/action and dialogue out, didn't like it. King Coin had some hilarious Vilja moments in his Aravi vids! For some reason, his Vilja was a bit of a lush, And Decrepit travels with Vilja, and has some of the funniest combacks to her griping that I've ever heard! I made a companion mouse that had a terrible temper, and loved playing with it so much that I removed Vilja from my game and just kept the mouse. (I was going to keep Vilja in the game, and just have her stay at home with Eyja the Skingrad maid - but she railed at Maxical so badly and pouted so much whenever Maxical came home from adventuring without her that I finally pulled her esm. from my Data folder, lol.
