QUOTE(mALX @ Jul 21 2016, 01:57 PM) I found out from the inspector that was here yesterday that all the little cone-shaped holes that I've been seeing in the back yard are ground bees = explaining why my dog doesn't want to do her business in the back yard anymore. Urk.
What do I do about that? Anyone know?
Ground bees are non-aggressive pollinators, and they only nest during spring/early summer so they should leave of their own accord soon. Watering the area regularly apparently encourages them to move on if you want them out sooner rather than later. You could also see about contacting a beekeeper to come and remove them, or a vampire hunter if they are indeed bees of the night

QUOTE(mirocu @ Jul 21 2016, 03:34 PM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jul 21 2016, 04:31 PM) But what flavour is "ice-cream flavoured"? Vanilla?
It´s ice cream flavour! Somehow, I just knew you'd say that... QUOTE(mirocu @ Jul 21 2016, 03:34 PM) On nother note, can anyone recommend another picture storing site? Imgur has done an "improvement" and now I can´t properly upload my pixies and put them in the correct album. Have sent a complaint but I reckon as with the feedback at Bethsoft it´ll be ignored.
Only one I've used was photobucket, and that was some time ago.

It was, until someone sprinkled ground bees over it.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jul 21 2016, 10:34 AM) Reports of my spontaneous combustion have been greatly exaggerated * Okay, whatever is building those ground nests is not bees; because I just covered the nests with borax and didn't see a single bee out there the whole time! So whatever it is; it builds nests the same way ground bees do, but the hole is much smaller that they go in and out of and they didn't act disturbed at all when I poured the borax in the nest holes. (meaning they are probably deep down in a tunnel, not near the surface entrance) I hope to heck this is not termites or something; because it is right up alongside the house. Also, in the middle of a bunch of the small holes was one huge hole; like for a fairly large snake or something. (I put almost half a box of borax into it) I HATE BUGS AND SNAKES !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ground bees are non-aggressive pollinators, and they only nest during spring/early summer so they should leave of their own accord soon. Watering the area regularly apparently encourages them to mooove on if you want them out sooner rather than later. You could also see about contacting a beekeeper to come and remove them, or a vampire hunter if they are indeed bees of the night Thanks, Hazmick! I'm really not sure if it is bees; I think the inspector was wrong. I didn't see a single bee out there in the yard while out. I mean, I know we have a nest of bees on our deck, but I don't think these were bees making these holes in the ground. It looks like ground bee nests with the cone of dirt; but the hole is very tiny; and they must go very deep because it didn't disturb anything when I sprinkled borax on them. And the big hole by the house was most def deep. That one looked like a snake hole though...except it was in the center of a bunch of the little holes. Urk. QUOTE(ghastley @ Jul 21 2016, 11:03 AM) Maybe you have a vampire gopher, too! Use whole garlic for those.
SPEW !!! With my luck I'll just end up with a gopher with bad breath, But wait, the "snake" hole wasn't big enough for a gopher! That would be a snake the size of an anaconda! It was more like the diameter of a cucumber or something. And not one of those obscenely large cucumbers; just a regular one.

QUOTE(King Of Beasts @ Jul 22 2016, 12:26 AM) What's the about vampire cucumbers lmao
KOBBY!!!! I like your new signature, QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jul 22 2016, 02:48 AM) I don't know, but maybe that explains why cats get so freaked out by them?
Cats get freaked out by vampires or cucumbers? Or only vampire cucumbers? My cat gets freaked out if you wear a dress instead of jeans; or go into a room he doesn't think you should be in. This post has been edited by mALX: Jul 22 2016, 04:08 PM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Jul 22 2016, 11:14 AM) Oooookey, so evicting the wasps was not as good an idea as I thought. Now they´re basically everywhere around the cottage and in the outhouses Thankfully Dad was up today and did a raid and he killed a few apart from spraying some poison foam here and there. I couldn´t have done it becasue if they sting me I might attract a slight case of death. Oh no! So in the future, you won't do anything like this again, right? Your poor Dad! Tell him to sprinkle garlic powder around or burn citronella candles and the bees will leave his property and go somewhere less offensive.
