Brand spanking new capture (as of this posting date) of my Daggerfall avatar at lvl 26, which he just recently achieved, though I neglected to report it until now: He was promoted to Master Wizard within the Mages Guild minutes prior to capturing the image. This allows him to use the Guild's teleportation service. As to the level-up, he put one point in END and five in WIL. Can't be seen on the capture, but his chestpiece has, amongst other things, a nice long-lasting castable regen enchantment. The weapon has a paralyze on hit enchant. The shield has some sort of castable spell reflect enchantment, which he almost never uses. The shield might also sport a featherweight enchantment. In other news, he at last disposed of an orc leader the Knights of the Dragon tasked him to dispatch. Turns out the target was fairly near the entrance/exit, down a tunnel branch my avatar didn't take during his initial exploration. Good thing too, as my avatar forgot to set an anchor at the exit. Mission accomplished he returned to Daggerfall City, paid for Destruction practice at the Temple of Kynareth, sold loot (several Daedric weapons and a lesser quality but still valuable weapon), banked, self-trained restoration at the Fighters Guild until the following morning, received promotion and paid for Destruction training at the Mages Guild, and is now about to solicit a task from that organization. 08/12/2016 ADDENDUM: My avatar's MG assignment proved easy. He was tasked to retrieve research papers from a fellow in another town and bring them to the Guild Hall. A slight complication...another organization wanted him to give the papers to them rather than the Guild, and threatened dire consequences should he not do so. If you know any of my serval Elder Scrolls avatars you know his response. For the Fighters Guild he has been tasked to dispose of a stray gargoyle holed up in one of that kingdom's numerous dungeons. No luck finding his target there so far, though he's gotten some very nice Deadric drops that will make the run very profitable indeed. This post has been edited by Decrepit: Aug 12 2016, 12:08 PM

Well good luck finding that gargoyle. I like that stat sheet, or "spread sheet" as Todd would call it. Hey y'all, I can't figure out the final Arena word-puzzle, so I'm going to use one of my lifelines, and Ask the Audience. I'm going to show you the puzzle, and then you folks can try to guess the answer, okay? Because I can't get it, and I refuse to cheat. This will be done on an honor system, so no Googling, okay? Here is the puzzle From the beginning of eternity, To the end of time and space, To the beginning of every end, And the end of every place And here are the answers I have tried so far.... universe? light? circle fourth dimension segment pause stop moment god edge life death everything all movement If you folks wanna help me, I will try your answers one by one. Then we'll all have a big party full of cake when somebody gets the answer correct. This post has been edited by Renee: Aug 12 2016, 11:28 PM

The answer is literally right in the four lines of the riddle. And I do mean it is literally there, in each line. This post has been edited by SubRosa: Aug 12 2016, 11:47 PM

Since last report, my avatar...
...removed scorpions from a shoppe as requested by a Daggerfall City private citizen.
...advanced the Emperor's mission. This saw him visit three sites outside the Kingdom of Daggerfall. The third of these proved frustrating. He had been there twice very recently. Neither time did he have trouble reaching his objective. Yet this last time he searched and searched and searched before finally stumbling on it. Making matters worse, after all was said and done, preparing to return to Daggerfall City, he received the "dream" indicating that he has caught vampirism. He drank his one available Potion of Cures Disease, and cast Cure Disease a number of times, hoping for the best. It wasn't to be. He arrived in the City a vampire. Now, if you know me at all you know that I do not tolerate avatars who must prey on the innocent. My choice at this point was to either abandon the play-through altogether or back out the just completed quest. I chose the latter as a lesser of evils. In any case, with that portion of his history deleted my avatar is none the wiser. So far as he's concerned, he never contracted the disease. I'm not about to tell him. This of course meant he needed to do that dungeon crawl yet again. Praise the Nine (or in this case Eight), this time he reached his goal in record time.
I must say bumping up WIL as he did his recent level-up has made a noticeable improvement in survivability. I don't need to reload nearly as often during crawls full of high-level casters.

Wow, no [censored]? it's really right in front of me eh? I think I can see the answer. Hold on. Nope, that wasn't it. Neither was that. Guess I'll check out Decrepit's answer pretty soon. QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 13 2016, 09:02 AM) Blimey, Decrepit! Don´t you ever talk about your feeble mind!

My avatar partook of two tasks, one each for the Temple of Kynareth and Knights of the Dragon. Both were rescue missions, he being sent to retrieve members from dungeons. In the first case he found then escorted his target to the Daggerfall City Temple. In the second he alas discovered that his target had been killed by orcs. He received credit for reporting the death. In Daggerfall City he got in several paid-for Destruction training sessions, and self-trained Mysticism at the Fighters Guild. Speaking of guilds, he advanced to Senechal in the Knights of the Dragon, and was awarded adamantium gauntlets. Not quite as good as the Orcish gauntlets he already wears, but a piece lacking in the adamantium armor set he collects for storage in his home attic. ADDENDUM: Here we see my avatar's Daggerfall City residence, circled in red: It is almost ideally situated for convenience. Three of the four organization of which he is an official member are seen in blue little more than a stone's throw distant. Only the Mages Guild, near the city's southern wall, involves a bit of travel. In truth even it is not terribly far away once one becomes familiar with the route. Just about ever sort of shoppe he regularly does business with is close by, with a Bank of Daggerfall branch office in orange at the image southeast corner. Daggerfall Castle is very near the image northeast edge. We were picky as to location at time of purchase. Once he settled on the house style he could afford (he could afford a much better style now) I made a save point, let him buy a house and find it on the map. It proved to be in a poor location within the city. I reloaded and repeated the buying process until the home seen above materialized. Doubt we could have done better. My avatar performed two easy tasks, one of them highly beneficial.
Daggerfall City Mages Guild commissioned him to dispose of a dead noble who refused to stay in his or her grave. (I forget which, or if he was told.) The undead personage resided in one of the Kingdom's city palaces. This was a walk in the park. Travel to said city. Enter palace. Kill (?) undead. Exit palace. Return to Daggerfall City. Enter Mages Guild. Receive task credit and reward. While at the Guild Hall he paid for training in Destruction.
He spent the rest of that day and all night self-practicing several spells schools at the Fighters Guild.
Next morning he accepted a Fighters Guild assignment to kill harpies within one of the Kingdom's numerous dungeons. Lo and behold, the dungeon was inhabited by mummies, ghosts and humans. Not a vampire or lich in sight!!!!! He didn't bother to cast his reflect-spell enchantment. Heck, he could have gotten by without health regeneration, but kept it running "just in case".
To sweeten the deal, those human foes dropped some very nice gear, including:
...Ebony Saber ...Ebony Broadsword ...Adamantium Broadsword ...Orcish Broadsword ...Daedric Broadsword x2 ...Daedric Longsword x2 ...Daedric Warhammer
and best of all...
...Daedric Gauntlets
He needed those gauntlets to complete his Daedric Armor set. They came enchanted, which gave us pause for concern, expecting a fairly lousy enchant. Our fears proved groundless. Their enchantment is Absorb Spell, which is very nice indeed. In any case, the Orcish gauntlets he's been wearing will be added to the Orcish armor set stored in his home attic.

You have a SET of Orcish? I thought that was only possible to collect if your character had selected "no Orcish" at char-gen. My Orc, Blossom, spent forever trying to obtain a complete set, and never managed it legitimately. I loaned her a set for her portrait, but she never got to use it. I think she managed to find two complete sets of Daedric on the way, but she doesn't like that shade of red, as it clashes with her hair. She even carries the Chrysamere in preference to a Daedric Claymore.

No. Just four pieces: A ribbed cuirass that is a green equivalent to the Daedric cuirass seen in my avatar's embedded screen capture(s). A right pauldron. Gauntlets. Boots. He has a number of Orcish weapons in storage. I can't recall which. Both my avatar and myself are fans of Daedric Red. That said, Orcish Green is mighty fine too. Were their colors reversed we'd have no qualms going green.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 18 2016, 03:25 AM) So when you buy a house in Daggerfall it doesn't even exist before the transaction is made?
Well...no. I supposed I ought to have said, "I reloaded and repeated the buying process until my avatar's name materialized on the red-circled home seen above." Certain towns and cities within the various Kingdoms designate specific homes as purchasable from their local bank(s). (Not all towns are large enough to sport a bank.) When buying a home, avatars can choose from a number style variants, assuming they has the funds to pay for their style of preference. (One can also take out a bank loan, but be very careful to pay it back in time lest ye be banned a criminal within that Kingdom.) Once a style is picked and payment made, a dwelling of that style is randomly designated yours within the city/town in question. Depending on town size, layout, and possibly other factors it might not much matter where the house is sited. For my avatar it did and does. In any case, why not be picky when one can? In other news, my avatar recently completed an assignment for a Daggerfall City private citizen whose lady friend had been kidnapped. He (my avatar) was tasked to carry ransom to the abductors' representative and ensure release. He was also given leeway to handle the situation as he saw fit. Therefore, when the representative demanded the ransom, he refused, being immediately set upon by the reps thug. The thug was dispensed with, his body searched from clues as to the victim's likely whereabouts. This proved to be...you guessed it...a dungeon. My avatar traveled there forthwith, traversed its many corridors, eventually found the captive, escorted her to his employer, accepted a modest monetary reward, and went on his merry way.

Picking the right house can be important if you're a vampire, as you can only shop during the day, but you can only go outside at night, without taking damage. So a vampire has to get from home to shop in the shortest time possible. I found that out with Vampirella, who lived in a biggish house, but a bit far from the shops. Edited to make image a larger one. This post has been edited by ghastley: Aug 22 2016, 02:55 PM

Not an overly momentous occasion, but one worth noting: On 22 Aug 2016 (earth date) my avatar's Kingdom of Daggerfall bank account surpassed the 10million mark, as seen below: He could have substantially more in his account should he decide to sell off many items currently stored in his cart and home. He has no desire or need to do so. (So far as I recall, he has little if any funds stashed away in banks within other Iliac Bay Kingdoms.) In other news, my avatar... ...performed a there-and-back-again delivery service for a Daggerfall Castle noble. ...touched bases with an important contact to gather new info regarding his mission for the Emperor. ...disposed of a dungeon-hidden traitor for the Temple of Kynareth. ...disposed of an orc as tasked by the Knights of the Dragon. (Mobs inhabiting this dungeon were so weaksauce (judged by my avatar's current proficiency) he was able to practice Archery for most of the crawl, which hasn't happened in a great long while.) He of course got in a number of formal and informal spell-school training sessions, and sold and banked as needed. Oh yeah, he created new Cure Disease, Cure Poison, and Water Mastery (combined Breathing and Walking) spells to replace far weaker spells from his early low-magicka days.
