But at least I now know I can find a scoped .44 Magnum at the scrapyard biggrin.gif

Yeah, that´s a good idea. The 10mm submachine gun works quite well and ammo is easy to find for it.

I recall the hunting rifle being a pretty reliable weapon early in the game as well. I don't think I'll bother with a sniper rifle though, I hear those things are bugged.

As for Allies for Bruma, that played to this one that it should be done as fast as possible (which usually meant running through the Oblivion worlds and fighting as little as possible, lol).

Again, different people experiencing the same thing differently.

Yep, the hunting rifle is a very capable weapon. Plentiful ammo, lots of copies to repair with.
