Nope, no bear mount discussion here.

Stop mentioning bear mounts! I've having enough difficultly resisting already.

There's no modding, there's no modding, ...

Phew! that was close.

But actually, there IS modding - it is just called "Add-ons" and can't be used to artificially enhance your character because that would be cheating, laugh.gif

I use a "Personality Idles" add on, plus several that enhance my map and assist me in organizing my inventories/crafting/Guild Sales, etc.

Plus, you can give your girls huge "Jimmies" right in the creation screen!

I too was concerned about the inability to mod ESO. I've been pleased to find that so many features that many players would want to mod have already been built into the game. I honestly haven't missed mods. I also love having a whole staff of Zenimax hamster trainers to keep the game running so I don't have to worry about puter stuff and get to just plaaaayyyy! biggrin.gif

Somebody like me (who played vanilla Oblivion and vanilla Skyrim for years) can tell you that Beth games still offer plenty, even without mods! Matter of fact the gaming experience can be more seamless without them, since you'll be spending less time dealing with stuff that doesn't go right.

Anyways, carry on. Didn't mean to butt in.

Here are some screens of the houses that will be available to us next year. I've done drive-byes on them all; and already picked out two defs and one maybe!

Thanks for the linky!

Julian is excited at the idea of a house of her own, but would rather live in Bergama or Satakalaam, both smaller towns with mostly smaller homes. Still, it reinforces her desire to settle in the Alik'r!

Mazul is interested too, but is rather disappointed that there are none in Wrothgar at this time. She has taken a break from the Covenant storyline (she's about halfway through) and is exploring her Orc homeland these past couple of days. Somehow she ended up becoming Chief of a small stronghold north of Orsinium, and is torn between the old ways of Malacath or the "new" ways of Trinimac as exemplified by the King in Orsinium.

We both love the city - the fact that it is in a state of rebuilding, with scaffolding everywhere. The water in Wrothgar is incredible, and the sensation of cold, bracing air is unmistakable through the screen. It really feels like Christmas without all the marketing. We might spend Saturalia here, and invite Julian to join us! As Mazul is Chief, Julian would be an honored guest in Shatul Range . . .

mALX, thank you so much for posting this! My crew is stashing funds in anticipation of the housing update.

The first one that jumps out at me is the Dhalmora hut for Stays-Up-Late. He is my only homebody, but he needs daily access to a crafting workshop. Thankfully there is a Wayshrine right down the road.

I'm curious to see what my crew will want to do with housing. Just choosing pets and mounts has been an enlightening experience. From the number of houses Jerric has bought, built, and directed the mods for even though none are for him, I'm sure we will be house-hunting. He may prefer a tavern or a campfire, but only when he knows there is room at a hearth for him.

The houses are account-wide, and unless I'm mistaken you can only get one free (and that is one of the smaller homes or possibly an apartment if I'm not mistaken. The update notes had a list of the apartments, but right now they are just un-accessible doors.

I was wondering how much they will cost for the ones we have to buy. I don't want any huge place; even the Narsis house is really too large. But if the horses are 42,000; what the H will they charge for a house? rollinglaugh.gif

Oh, that adorable little house in "Hammerdeath" has a "Tourag's Pact" wilderness crafting station across from it and a picnic table on the back of the wrap around deck! I have been having trouble finding that building to see the inside, but for now it is on my "Maybe" list for those three things listed.

I have fallen so totally in love with the Redguard in this game, their culture and beliefs - I am most def settling in the Desert. Bubba is going to have to have some kind of backstory from there. They did as wonderful a job on the Redguard as they did for the Orc in Betnikh (which I thought dealt much more deeply into the Orc culture than Wrothgar, but I also love Wrothgar).

I also wondered if they will have housing in the DLC! Someone mentioned there might be some in the Gold Coast; right now that is the only thing that might rival the desert for me; and would most def depend on the house style. I LOVE the Redguard architecture.

Oh, and right now (I think for a week) the Gold Edition game is on sale for 29.95; (and that one includes the Palomino horse!) so if you know anyone who wants to buy it, now is the best time!

(Hint, hint ... SubRosa verysad.gif )

Wow, that's awesome! I noticed that the $29.99 Gold Edition that I found was on Steam, is that a new thing? (EDIT: Oh look, there it is on not-Steam too. *palms face*) Any reason to not buy it through Steam? I am seriously tempted to move my music library off my hard drive (again, sigh) and get ESO PC NA Jerric started for that bargain, if only to hang out for a while training his mount.

I'm guessing that the 200k+ my crew has saved so far won't get them a whole cottage. laugh.gif I'm glad the houses will be account-wide.

I just love Reaper's March, so I'll be pushing for one of the houses there. This time of year especially I dream of the desert. I'm curious how they'll handle the Arenthia house. Maybe they'll lift the siege if you buy a house there, lol.

I like that nice one in the Khajiit named town, I've climbed on the rocks and peeked in.

Oh, I think you would have to finish the town's quest to live in peace there, rollinglaugh.gif

And yes, if I had the spare 30. bucks to throw around, I'd do it for the Palomino and the extra 500 crowns, laugh.gif

Oh, and I know this is old info; but for anyone who didn't dig all the way through October's patch notes - here is what they had done on the housing so far (as of October):

Housing Updates

In preparation for Update 13, a number of buildings were added/modified. In addition, a number of safe boxes, treasure chests, harvest nodes, books, and NPCs were relocated to accommodate these renovations.

QUOTE

Alik'r

The Sisters of the Sands Inn in Sentinel is renovating a room, and has temporarily blocked it off.

Renazh's House is being renovated and is currently locked.
Relocated a treasure chest, two safeboxes, and a book ("The Book of Circles, Tirdas Maxims").

Auridon

Shara's Public House in Vulkhel Guard is renovating a room, and has temporarily blocked it off.

The Barbed Hook Tavern in Skywatch is renovating a room, and has temporarily blocked it off.

A new building near Mathiisen has been constructed.

Bal Foyen

Nebaxireet's House in Dhalmora is being renovated and is locked.

Bangkorai

A new building near Halcyon Lake has been constructed, and relocated a nearby book and treasure chest.

A new building near Lakewatch has been constructed.

Craglorn

A new building near Cyrodiil Gate Garrison has been constructed.

Deshaan

The Flaming Nix in Mournhold is renovating a room and has locked it.

Eastmarch

The Stormcrag Manor in Windhelm is being renovated, and is now locked.
Two safeboxes have been removed. Lokka Stormcrag and Gyda Stormcrag are now located near the entrance to Windhelm. The "Letter to Ragna" note was moved with the Stormcrags.

Glenumbra

The Rosy Lion in Daggerfall is renovating a room and has locked it.

Cergend's House in Daggerfall is closed for renovations. Two safeboxes have been removed from the Cergend's home. A nearby book has been relocated.

Grahtwood

A building near Eldenroot has been closed.

A new building near Cormount has been constructed. A new citizen, Frenenora, has moved in nearby. A new guard is now patrolling in Cormount.

Greenshade

A new building near Marbruk and in Longhaven have been constructed.

Khenarthi's Roost

A new building in Laughing Moons Plantation is under construction, and is locked.

Malabal Tor

A new building in the Bandaari Trading Post has been constructed.

Reaper's March

A new building near Arenthia has been constructed.

Rivenspire

Hears-the-Wind's House in Fell's Run is closed.

Stonefalls

The Ebony Flash in Ebonheart is renovating a room, and has blocked it off.

A building near Ebonheart has been constructed, and a Mages Guild book near this building was relocated.

A vacant building in Kragenmoor has a new lock on its door.

Stormhaven

A new building near Hammerdeath Arena has been constructed.

Stros M'kai

A new building near Port Hunding has been constructed.

I have already checked out the houses; then found similar houses in world to see the interiors of. On the "apartments" inside inns I have gone to each inn and checked out its upstairs rooms to get an idea how they will be furnishing the apartment if that is how it will be done.

On both the houses and apartments I've checked out their proximity to bank/crafting/wayshrines, etc.

Some of the larger houses (that I won't be interested in getting because they are HUGE) have come with a built in stable area! So I am wondering, will we have a facsimile of our horses in the stable? Or will we be able to dismount and see our horse? Or will those stables sit empty? Anyway, seeing those stables intrigued me, even if I have no desire for a huge mansion, lol.

Housing, housing, housing! *dance of joy* Thanks, mALX!

The inn room/apartments have the most appeal to me, even though the possibilities for the big houses are exciting. (Guild houses! RP!) Even Jerric would like an instanced room where he can nap without waking up in some sort of teabagging situation.

Hmmm, interesting stuff!

Julian is hoping for a small house/room somewhere in the Alik'r. She'll settle for the room in the Sisters of the Sands Inn - convenient to the cooking fire. She is impatiently waiting for me to start an enchanting/alchemical character so she can hand over those responsibilities, but she will not give up cooking.

Ironic, considering in Oblivion she could barely put together a meal of Legion slop! tongue.gif

Mazul is disappointed that no mention has been made of Wrothgar. She is keeping her fingers (and tusks) crossed . . .

I'm so excited about the housing! And I'll bet only a guild will be able to afford the big mansions, but I'm REALLY hoping I'll be able to get the house in Sentinel, I LOVE the Redguard style homes!!!!

Also, since this last update I have seen OVENS inside some of the Redguard homes!!! They will probably replace cook fires inside some homes; but I wonder if we will have some kind of animation for them?

Those who have had others create inedible slop for them, are the most eager to take control, and do it properly. And maybe reluctant to inflict their own results on anyone else. kvright.gif
