If you like Dragon Force you probably like Rhapsody of Fire too, hunh?

Can't say I've heard of them.

My taste in music is somewhat eclectic, and as much as I love Dragonforce, they're kind of out on the fringe.

Oh ok. Yeah RoF is another group that comes up on Nightwish Radio Pandora. Very similar to Dragon Force.

I just found out I can't dual class as a Ranger/Druid in Icewind Dale. Ugh.

I'll have to check them out then.

Who knows, between them, Dragonforce, and Nightwish, Taylor Swift might actually be nudged off of my MP3 player!

Okay, maybe not Taylor Swift, but they might dislodge Avril Lavigne. Like I said, my taste in music is eclectic. I've got Bob Dylan, Snow Patrol, Taylor Swift, Dragonforce, Aerosmith, The Bluetones, Journey, Jimi Hendrix, and Paramore on my MP3 player, along with some Wardruna, the soundtracks to Vikings and Guardians of the Galaxy, and some nice fantasy-themed music I found on youtube!

Following this discussion of music with interest.

To be honest, I haven't been listening to music as much as I used to.

I still have my old favorites, but every once in a while I come across something new and interesting (to me, anyways).

Sometimes it's new music from my old favorites (David Bowie, Sting/The Police, Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde). Other times it's new music from artists that are new to me.

I'd have to say I liked what I heard of Nightwish. By comparison, I listened to some Avril Lavigne (she's okay) and Taylor Swift. TBH, I'm kind of unimpressed by TS, and really tired of her.

Thorny, I'll take your edit, since you asked.

Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Journey and Jimi Hendrix are all artists I grew up with. The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac (my first love), even a relatively obscure Southern rock band called the Outlaws (I always feel like I should have a bottle of rye bourbon in hand when I listen to these guys) are all contemporary. Then there's Styx and REO Speedwagon. I played this song so much I broke the cassette tape from rewinding to play just that.

It's interesting how music today, especially stuff like Nightwish, can be traced back to songs like these.

Of course, I loved the theme song by Fever Ray from Vikings. It's what hooked me into the series in the first place. Well, that and the stunning cinematography of the opening credits.

And then there's covers of favorites. Some standard, some unique. Like this one.

I'll have to check out your links later, since it's after midnight here and I'll be getting some sleep soon.

As for Taylor Swift, being honest, I can't say I like her last album, and the one before that's a bit hit and miss, the other three I really like. Something in her voice that doesn't make it into the others. *shrugs*

Khajiit shares your opinion of T.Swift, but some people like her so he'll just leave it at that. Khajiit enjoys some southern rock selections ( him being a Mississippi Khajiit, he kind of has to! ) like Credance Clearwater Revival, and some Lynard Skynard songs, also eagles. Like Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Knicks (sp?) a lot too.
