You can play as an Imperial if you purchase the Digital Imperial Edition from the Crown Store in-game. I believe it costs 2,100 Crowns. You'll get the ability to play as an Imperial, a white horse, and a mudcrab pet.

Enjoy, and welcome to the game! smile.gif

Damn, Khajiit was hoping it would come standard in the gold edition. Oh well, thanks for the info!

When I got ESO, I bought the Imperial Edition.

Haven't played an Imperial so far. Not inclined to at this point.

Only really good thing from that package is the White Horse.

Now I wish I could have waited for the Gold Edition. Oh well.

No like Imperials? They seem to be good for "sword and board" type characters, from I read on UESP.

About crowns.
Is there a way to get them besides buying packages? It says Khajiit has 500 crowns already without actually doing anything besides purchasing the game.

Subscribe to ESO Plus.

You'd get 1500 Crowns a month while your subscription is running.

I might get that just for the crafting bag, but only for a while. Not indefinitely . . .

How much that does that cost?

What platform are you on? The best way to see the prices is to go to whichever store would sell you Crowns. They may still be on sale. Or if you mean ESO Plus, you can check there or on the official website. There are various subscription periods with different prices.

It works out to about US $15 per month, and you can get auto renewal or not.

For Xbox One monthly only is available. For PS4 and PC/Mac you can get 1 month, three months or six months. All also have auto renewal options. The six month package is the best value - it saves you about US $2 per month.

$15/month doesn't seem too bad, especially since it gets you crowns to use, which themselves seem kind of pricey.

I have ESO+ renewable each 6 months and love it. It costs $78 / 6 months and gives me 9500 crowns / 6 months. I also don't have to buy any DLC since all of them (past, present, future) come with ESO+. The crafting bag (unique to ESO+) is, in my opinion, priceless. There are some other smaller perks like the ability to dye costumes (not just outfits) and a permanent 10% xp gain.

That all said, I'd wait on ESO+ just a bit. Get the basic game (without DLC) going and play it a week or so. By then, you'll know if you like it or not. If you like it after giving it a fair shot of playing it, then consider ESO+. Within a few days, I was impressed. Within two weeks I decided it would be Buffy's new home.

Khajiit already bought the "Gold Edition".

That gets you a beautiful and unique limited edition horse. The four DLC that also come with it might be redundant if you later add ESO+ but that horse is a beauty! If offered in game, it would be very pricey in terms of in-game gold. If offered in the Crown Store it would cost 2/3 of the diff between basic ESO and the Gold edition. So if you like the horse, it is reasonable. If you end up not getting ESO+, those DLC will remain quite a bargain as well.

Enjoy!

Khajiit will probably still check into + if nothing else but for the crowns. Future DLC will probably come with + too right?

Yes, ESO+ means you automatically get all DLC, including any new ones as they come out.

Well that makes it worth it too!

New question:
One Tamriel is active right?

Yes, One Tamriel is active and, as far as I'm concerned, working pretty well. I like the flexibility it provides in traveling anywhere and having all areas magically provide an appropriate challenge regardless of your level.

So Khajiit hasn't even made it out of CharGen yet. How do you overturn the Alliance you have to pick at the beginning?

If I understand your question, you cannot. If you are a Khajiit for example, you will be in the Aldmeri Dominion. An exception would be if you buy the Adventurers Pack - then you can pick any alliance for any race in chargen.

Your alliance does not stop you from traveling to other alliance lands.

If you complete your alliance's questline, you will then be given the opportunity to go do the other two alliance questlines if you like.

Did you mean override?

You need the Adventurer's Pack for that.

I just got it in the Crown Store today. Haven't used it yet, but I like the idea of starting different races in alternate locations besides the usual standard ones.
