Nah? I've only got a 360, my laptop couldn't run Skyrim(and even if it could, thanks to Steam I wouldn't install it).

DRM doesn't work, even before the other crap Valve bundle it together with.

It's fine while it works, but to take an example: if Bethesda fall out with Valve, the latter can disable all users ability to launch Skyrim. I.e. the third party here has all the control. I can live with that for now, in the hope the problem will go away before the game goes away.

A related issue is "what if Valve go out of business, or get taken over by a competitor of my preferred game publisher?"

With the old "have the disk to play" methods, you were only dealing with the one company, and the right to use the game was independent of their existence. You could still play games after the supplier went bust. Steam is required to keep the game playable, and we don't control that.
