Khajiit and Mira got up to some exploring on Bleakrock today. Killed some wolves, a couple of deer, some mudcrabs, and a few bandits. Spared the squirrels, lol. Some pesky mage had turned some local hunters into skeevers so Mira took a wand the mage left behind, hunted down the skeevers, and turned them back to human with the wand. Mira was also very helpful to a lady who lost her dog and her husband. She found the dog by blowing a whistle and the dog then led her to the lady's husband, whose boat had sank and he washed up on shore barely alive. Attempted to infiltrate the mine the bandits are searching using a disguise retrieved from a dead bandit but the sentry saw through it and attacked. Mira will try again after things calm down a bit.

Those are some of my favorite quests in ESO = fun!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Mira did a spot of night fishing with a worm she found in Coldharbour!

Good job, Khajiit! Bleakrock was fun, and convincingly COLD! Pretty much like it is right now tonight - temps in the teens and still falling . . .

I had some time today before work, so spent the later part of the morning familiarizing myself with how the Craft Bag works and having all of my toons start using it. Makes the bank issue much more tolerable - it was driving me crazy trying to manage materials at two different levels for three toons (Mazul and Julian are in their '40's, while Alise leveled up to 16 yesterday). And I'm thinking of starting a fourth soon!

Around noon my two group friends showed up online, and Mazul and I grouped up again in Wrothgar. We finished the last two quests she had on her Wrothgar book (not necessary for the Master Adventurer achievement, as there are more than the required 40 quests in the zone), removed Bonerock Cavern from her unfinished list, and retrieved the last four relics for the Museum of Orsimer Glories. She has one more world boss (Nyzchaleft Falls), what feels like the penultimate quest for the museum (there are two empty displays left, and she is looking for the Coldwind Skull for one of those - the other is the Armlet of Torug). We decided to leave those until Sunday, when we'll all be off and all have enough time to go chasing after relics and bosses.

On Wednesday night, my Orc friend showed Mazul and I around Cyrodiil and the Covenant base camp in the IC. We're not sure we want to go to war there just yet . . .

Julian still hasn't completed the Mages Guild quest where she has to recover the island from Sheo. There are some very tough NPC's in this quest and they're basically one-shotting her dead very quickly. She hasn't figured out the tactics she needs to take them down. I think Mazul needs to get through the rest of Rivenspire so she can go to the Alik'r and find the Hunding's Rage crafting station so she can build a decent set of armor. After all, that is the armor that got Mazul through some serious stuff - a mix of Hunding's Rage and Song of Lamae. Really good stuff, in Mazul's opinion.

Alise is coming along well. She has cleared the Stonefalls map (except for the Undaunted pledge dungeon, Crow's Wood, and the MQ cave). Deshaan is turning out to be very interesting and Alise is almost ready to start wearing the Grahtwood's Active Wear costume all the time. She has picked up dual-wield as her second bar, and is working hard on those skills. Mazul is crafting steel daggers for her as fast as she can learn the traits for them. Unfortunately, the Dunmer motif is the one motif of the main races that Mazul lacks - she has the Khajiit, Argonian, Nord, Bosmer, Altmer, Breton and Redguard in addition to her own Orc, but so far no luck finding the Dunmer style book. Drat.

It is very much convincingly cold! Then there's the Nord with his shirt off! Har!

That sounds like good times! Wish Khajiit and Mira had a trait so they could start crafting. Did manage to sand some maple, lol. Can you trade motifs with people? Like, can you find a motif after you already learned it, and gift it to someone else?

Mira just cleared Bleakrock and is about rush to Cpt. Rana's aid at the Dhalmora docks or help defend the fort. "Death to the Covenant invaders!", shall be her battlecry.

Buffy loved starting in Bleakrock as it reminds her of Skyrim. Once she got out into the gray-lava-ash-uck of Morrowind though she missed Valenwood. It wasn't until she got to the swamp jungle of Shadowfen that she was happy again. I guess you can take the elf out of the forest but you can't take the forest out of the elf. Lol.

Or the sand out of the Redguard! lol!

You can't gift a style once you learn it, as it comes in the form of a style book (or pages, for the higher level styles). But you can find them at the Guild traders, or a friend can gift you a spare book. I've been stowing all the known style books I find in the bank for characters to come. That's how Alise now knows two or three others besides her own Dunmer race (you start knowing your own racial motif). Traits are researched, and take time. Start researching enhanced items right away, as research takes longer at higher levels. Mazul is now taking two days to research traits. Two days?? She's not even Level 50 yet! You can see the research tab in your crafting menu, on the far right side of the screen. When you click on it, researchable items will have a small number next to the icon (i.e. you have two helms you can research, one chest piece, and one axe). Below, you can see which traits for those items you can research.

Once you have researched that item, you'll be able to use the trait materials that you should have been picking up in your adventures. They add an extra dimension to your weapons and armor that can be useful in a tough fight. And that doesn't even include enchantments!!

Have fun crafting!

Really? The part of Morrowind Mira is in now is quite lovely! I suppose though that Mira will miss her native Skyrim (she was born there, not Cyrodiil) at some point but as for now she's just taking in the sights!

yeah Mira has a few items she can research, we'll probably get on that as soon as this one starts playing again. Khajiit will have to look again for the Imperial style motif you say she should already know. Perhaps he overlooked it.

If your character is NOT an Imperial, you make the item any style you have the racial stones for; then when it is made you can right-click on the item, and in the drop-down list choose "Convert to Imperial."

You can't change it back once it is changed to Imperial; and you can't make Imperial for others without either finding the Imperial Motif book or having an Imperial character to make it.

The Imperial motif books are very rare and very expensive to buy (I sold one for 45,000 gold about a month ago).

Today Alise and Mazul were startled to receive a message from a new friend - Jerric Kjellingsson! After hearing so much about him from Julian, Buffy and Calia Lia, they were rather looking forward to meeting him when he finally moves to the PC/NA server.

And guess what? Jerric sent a message to us with a Dunmer style book for Mazul. Alise was delighted to accept it on Mazul's behalf. She flew back to Davon's Watch from Deshaan to leave it in the bank for our Orc girl. Mazul was both surprised and tickled pink to get the book - she couldn't read it fast enough!! She is looking forward to crafting a proper set of Dunmer daggers for our Pact girl ...

In other news, Julian and I are discussing respec'ing her skills. She is really struggling right now with even the simple side quests - any time there is more than one enemy involved she really feels the costs of her attribute choices. We are discussing not focusing so much on the Magicka but rather divvying up her attributes evenly between Health and Stamina. Either that, or Mazul needs to return to the Covenant questline so she can locate the Hunding's Rage site and make up a serious set of reinforced armor for Julian.

I think so, yes. I've never tried it, as I haven't been tempted to do so. I'm enjoying the diversity of racial cultural styles too much to want to go the bland route. Just my honest opinion . . .

Yes! You can even change ones you pick up in dungeons to Imperial if you want - I do it with bows because I like the Imperial bow the best; so if I find a bow that I like and want to carry I change it to Imperial.

The only thing about it is, once you have changed it to Imperial it becomes bound to you/your account. You can't give it to any other player after that.

(you can still sell it to NPC merchants, but not Guild Stores).

Aww, Khajiit thinks Mira's Imperial style looks at least as good as the other races' styles, and certainly better than the base style.

Yes, although I have found some sets that only allow one racial trait that can't be changed. Overall, as long as you have the Imperial Edition (or the Imperial Upgrade) - it works.

Mira ran out of inventory space so she made her way to Davon's Watch to find a bank. Once she unloaded some stuff, she made her first sword out of 9 iron ingots and some nickel! Alas, it was lvl 14 so she cannot use it yet, lol. She also turned her boots, gauntlets, shield, and belt buckle (girdle) into Imperial style items, though the sword she is currently wielding wouldn't change so she's stuck with a base model sword for now.

If an item will not give you the option to change it to Imp style even though you have the Imp pack, it is often because the item is already Imp style. I think it may also not offer the option on some or all 'sets' as well but not sure about that. Normally when I don't have the option available though it is because the item is already Imp. Imp stuff is great because almost all of it looks fairly good. If you've got a piece of gear you think is ugly, generally the Imp version looks somewhere between not ugly and good.

Yes, some sets (Like possibly "Hist") have set racial and can't be changed. I came across one that was primal or barbaric or something once and I couldn't change it; but overall most things will change.

And yeah, unless you have an add-on like "Trait Buddy" that tells you what racial stone an item is currently made with; it is very possible it is already Imperial and that is why it isn't changing (because like all armor and weapons; Imperial looks different at different levels and in different sets).

I have Trait Buddy, and it tells me the race of every item I pick up or mouse over either in world or in the chat box. (so if you link to an item in your inventory and post it on chat, I can scan it and tell you what race it currently is).

TCK, you can change the level of the item you're crafting within each material category. Once you're on Iron for example, click or bump down just once and you can add or subtract ingots to get to the level that you can use.

Hautee, glad Mazul liked her book. smile.gif

Acadian and mALX, I hope I got a note through to you both in game. The PC interface is different from what I'm used to on the PS4. In fact everything on the interface is different from what I'm used to on the PS4! panic.gif
