History buff that I sometimes am, I followed the recent discovery and ultimate identification of the remains of England's King Richard III with great interest. I've seen a goodly number of video about this on YouTube these past several years. Day before yesterday found what has become my overall favorite, documenting the search and its aftermath from start to finish. Enjoyed it so much I watched it again yesterday.

Richard III: The King in the Car Park

Also, I'm very glad to see a number of documentaries presented by Dr Lucy Worsley resurface at YouTube, many having been taken down some time ago. I must admit I simply dote on the woman, from her voice to her sense of dress to her "spunkiness" to her intellect and so on. I haven't liked all her variously documentaries, but most are a lot of fun as well as being informative, on often offbeat topics.

Here's a decent one: If Walls Could Talk - The History of the Home - Episode 2 (Bathroom)

Well poot! I wanted to link one more Wosley documentary. Looks like some have already been removed. (The one's that remain are mostly those I'm least thrilled about.)

Just watched The Last Samurai

I thought it was a damn good film, albeit a little over the top in places.

A followup to my Feb 10 posting. Another investigative documentary on King Richard III, this one examining to what extent Richard's Scoliosis might have impeded his ability to wear armor and function as a warrior, centered on a modern day individual who suffers from the disease very much as Richard did.

A Tom Cruise movie "over the top"? Not sure Khajiit believes that. tongue.gif*

*This one did enjoy it though!

Currently watching a Forged in Fire marathon! Khajiit loves seeing blades being forged, and the different techniques and styles used!

Forged in Fire sounds cool. But sadly it is not on Netflix.

This one likes it a lot. It follows the same basic format that the cooking show Chopped does (3 rounds, each with a particular set of parameters), but instead of food, they are cooking deadly steel! It's a fairly new series, only been running for a couple of seasons so it may eventually come to Netflix. Until then, you could probably catch a few episodes here.

I am half way through the first part of Blood+. Even after all these years, it is still excellent.

I also learned that season 2 of Mercy Street comes out on disc tomorrow. So I started rewatching season 1 again today. Another really good show.

Mercy Street season two came today, and I noticed something weird. I looked online and it says that episode 5 does not air on tv until next Sunday, and episode 6 sometime after that. But I have all 6 episodes of the season on the discs I got today. So it went out on disc before it was even finished showing on television? That is a first. I usually have to wait 6 months or a year before getting it on blu-ray or dvd.

Damn, y'all. Khajiit is hooked on a Netflix show called Hemlock Grove. Just finished season 1 (of 2). If you like weird stuff, check it out.

This morning I picked up GOT seasons 3 & 4 at Barnes & Noble. Both were marked 20% off. On top of that I had a coupon for an additional 20% off one product. Even with those discounts applied the DVD sets were more expensive than ordering 'em off Amazon. Used almost the whole of what remained on my Gift Card to pay for 'em. (Think I have just over $11US left on it now.)

Watched season 3 episodes 1 & 2 this afternoon. Either I wasn't in the mood for GOT or these were mediocre episodes (by GOT standards). I enjoyed 'em but thought them nothing overly special. My favorite scene might have been Sansa's meeting with the Queen of Thorns, which if memory serves is Diana Rigg's first appearance in the series.

ADDENDUM: Watched episodes 3 & 4 this evening. Liked ep.3 very much. Easily my favorite 3rd season episode thus far...except for that totally inappropriate music hits us out of the blue as the closing credits start rolling. LOL...I started cussing the TV at that point. Oh yeah, ep.4 wasn't bad either.

Since my last report I watched GOT season 3, ep.5-8. Beyond recalling being very impressed with ep.7 (leastwise I think it was 7) I can't evaluate individual episodes. The actress who plays Margaery does a very nice job throughout. I especially liked her interactions with King Joffrey. (My original plan was to finish out the season yesterday evening. But I became super groggy not long after supper and retired to bed for the night not long afterward.)

Watched The Legend of Bagger Vance. It was a fairly amusing film because of Will Smith's character, to whom the script writers gave at least 75% of the best lines in the film, all of which he delivered well.

The rest of the film was pretty bland. Weird story. Characters that were all over the place. Pretty forgettable really.

Khajiit has no interest in golf so he never watched that movie.

To be honest, I've no real idea why I watched it in the first place. laugh.gif

More likely because of Will Smith. He's usually good for a laugh. Especially since I grew up watching The Fresh Prince of Bel Air biggrin.gif
