I just got done watching Arrival. It was good. Really good. But a bit slow. It could have been 20 minutes shorter. Towards the end some things started to feel like Deus Ex Machina too. But I have to admit that those things were completely logical, and were part of what made the story the story. I don't want to give away spoilers, so I cannot go into details. If you are in the mood for a good cerebral drama about an alien first contact, you won't be disappointed.

Just watched Aliens

I didn't like the first film. I thought it was too long, too slow, and overly populated by idiots(not to mention a particularly obnoxious jumpscare cat).

But Aliens is so much better. In every way.

Khajiit doesn't remember much about Alien. He remembers Jonesy and the Bilbo Baggins Synth going haywire, and of course the Xenomorph wreaking havoc on the crew. Then it gets sucked out an airlock. Pretty much all you need to know.

You mean you forgot Sir John Hurt's chestburster moment? ohmy.gif

Surely you can't just lump that in with the rest of the havoc. nono.gif

Never saw the first one. The Racoon thing threw Khajiit off. Is it an alien that looks exactly like a bipedal, sentient version of an earth racoon, a mutant, or what?

Oh so he's a mutant or the subject of a forced evolution experiment?

Gotcha. Khajiit was looking at a list of good horror films that "you may not have seen" yesterday and sure enough there was a few that sounded interesting that this one hasn't seen. Perhaps he will check out Guardians after he watches some of those.

I could never get into Voyager. I did watch DS9 for a while, but I think I just got burned out on Star Trek back then, as it came after all 7 years of Next Gen.

I put the following in the wrong topic the other day!

I started watching Haunted. I videotaped it back when it was on tv 15 years ago. Last year I broke down and bought it on dvd. I finally got around to watching it again. It is still a solid tv show. It is too bad it only went for about a dozen episodes.

I am also doing a Hunger Games marathon, this time on 4k. Every time I watch the series, I like it more. I am surprised no one has ever made a Mockingjay armor mod for Skyrim or Fallout. It would be perfect for either game.

Khajiit is watching a fun little show on the Flix of the Net called The 100. It's about the people of a space station (called "The Ark") that was built to protect a group of people from the ravages of a nuclear war down on earth. It's unclear when this space station was built and by whom (at least in the first season, of which Khajiit is about halfway through), but in any case, 97 years after they first inhabited the station it is discovered that the station is failing. They then round up 100 juvenile delinquents who were imprisoned for various crimes, load them in a dropship with little wrist monitors, and send them down to earth to see if it's survivable on the planet's surface. What ensues is a sort of descent into savagery that Khajiit found entertaining. Worth a watch, as long as you aren't expecting too much from it.

I tried 100, but could not get into it. I kept thinking that I would kill almost all of those douche bags if I was there (like the ones stopping others from eating, when they didn't even kill the game). It annoyed me so much that those people were still alive after three episodes, that I gave up.

That is the problem with playing a character like Persephone. Sometimes she rubs off on me too much.

I enjoy The 100. Thought the first season was a bit hit and miss, but once it gets into more stuff with the Grounders it gets pretty good.

Khajiit is looking forward to more interaction with the Grounders! This one would join Grounder Princess Anya's crew any day! hubbahubba.gif
Khajiit suspects she'd probably just have him killed though. Lol

I watched the new Rings today. It was ok, but nothing great. It adds more to the backstory, with Samara's mother, and how she was conceived, and orphaned. But it just does not live up to the first movie.

I'm watching season 4 of Doctor Who.

Well, new Doctor Who, really.

Well, new NEW Doctor Who, since it's David Tenant.

The two-parter in The Library. Bloody good stuff. Genuinely creepifying(because yes, that's a word now), on so many levels. It's like a horror film with a pg rating. River Song annoys me, but apart from that, it's bloody brilliant.
