I am currently watching the Alliance fleet attacking Scarif. This time I recognized The Ghost! I also finally caught General Syndulla's name over the PA at the Yavin base.

I watched Commando yesterday. Wow, that movie was... not good. It is so incredibly 80s. I thought the villain looked familiar, and it turns out he has been in a ton of stuff. He was Wez, the mohawk baddie from The Road Warrior who says "We go in, we kill, We Kill, WE KILL!" for most of the movie. He was Mr. Igoe from Innerspace, and Plughead in the Circuitry Man movies. He was even in Weird Science.

Watched Rebel without a Cause last night. If movies are a reflection of society of the time a film is made in, then it's funny to see how differently the people of 1955 viewed things especially when compared with what is socially "acceptable" now in our own time.

I just watched The Fifth Element! biggrin.gif

This film is just brilliant, for so many reason. It's impossible to list them all.

But Mila Jovovich with orange hair definitely ranks highly among those reasons wink.gif

Khajiit loves that movie! Multipass!
One of this one's favorite parts of the movie is Ruby Rod (played by Chris Tucker). Dude was so funny!

Watched Mad Max: Fury Road last night. Really made this one want to play Fallout4 (yes, Khajiit is aware there is a Mad Max game).

Oh well that's easy to see. He's obnoxious, sleazy, and completely useless.

I haven't watched a full length movie in ever so long. When my hearing deteriorated to the point where listening to "most" types of music is no longer a pleasant experience my interest in film took a nosedive. Makes sense, I suppose. A flim's music score and sound-effects track were always of major importance to me. I think that's one of the things that drew me to silent films. With those, music is especially critical, though you wouldn't guess it by the inadequate scores accompanying too many "modern" silent film release.

I've been thinking of the film Airplane these past several days. For me, much of its comedy holds up very well. I got to wondering if this is the case for younger folk. A large part of its appeal is in the casting of actors who, up until Airplane, were know strictly for "straight" roles in "serious" films and TV shows. Too, there is a lot of parody on then-iconic TV commercials and the like. Do youngsters see the movie and "get it"? Or is it just another dated period comedy for you?
