Xcom: The Enemy Within.

Oh ok, well congrats!

Congrats for getting brutally killed by two Mutons...THANKS . Actually I love Xcom I need to get the sequel. There's one for the Switch kinda that has Mario and the Rabbids, that's a pretty cute game .

Ah I see thanks...Actually in one game I made it to Colonel, sadly not this time though but at least I died saving my team leader. Thankfully I have another support character but I need to train a new Combat Medic Quick.

Khajiit has never played those games. He hears good things though.

I commend you on your excellent choice of game.

I've never had the nerve to create myself in the game, figure it'd result in a guaranteed Xcom moment

And I find myself developing an itch to go back to a fantasy game, leaving me a choice of DA:O, Fable 2, Oblivion, or Skyrim. A tricky decision to make...

Xcom is great game to play well worth the buy.



I was a bit weary of Xcom at first but watching ProJared's abysmal playthrough of the game made me buy it off Steam and give it a shot myself and I'm doing WAY better then he did. Sure I play on easy mode but honestly that seems to effect the RNG and on higher difficulty that RNG really screws you in the butt but playing it on easy seems to keep things even for both you and the enemies. Oh I still miss my targets from time to time but no where near as bad on higher difficulty and I seldom save scum except if I goof up a move.

If you want to see someone pulling off a perfect run of the game, you should take a look at Zemalf's let's play of Xcom: Enemy Within. Guy had the weirdest luck I've ever seenl, but he completed the game on impossible difficulty, in ironman mode, without losing a single member of his squad. Epic.

Or, there's Beaglerush's run at the basic game, Enemy Unknown. He didn't get too far through it, but it made for good entertainment.

Problem is, after watching those guys, I ended up playing the game on Classic ironman. Seriously fun, but seriously frustrating from time to time

Yeah, Mutons are something of a jump in difficulty.

Specially Berserkers and Armored Mutons. The mission was an alien landing with a large ship and this damn ship had EVERY CLASS OF MUTON in the game I think. I ended the mission with my main Sniper and Assault Unit. I lost my back up Support, Second Sniper and Heavy who was my Squad Leader.
Regular Mutons don't bother me I'll take those guys out all day but By the Nine I f*ing HATE those Berserkers, You practically NEED to have them as top priority targets and have EVERYONE shoot it.

Yup, berserkers are pretty fun. Best one was in one of my early attempts, one of them smashed through cover and mulched one of my team. And Muton Elites are just nasty, always found them more dangerous than the berserkers. Have you run into sectopods yet? They're a real nightmare on any difficulty

Sectopods are those mechanical like robots with two floating "scouters" right? If so I have taken one down it was with the ship of death. I can't believe I lost three of my A-Team solders on that mission.

Yeah, they stomp around, have some mortar like weapon, fire lasers, and like to overwatch. And then those bloody drones heal them. They're also the best reason to give your heavies heat ammo. Damn things take so much killing, and can dish out so much, a real nuisance. They actually made them harder for Enemy Within from Enemy Unknown, they only take half the damage they used to.


And Xcom's a game that loves to punish you for not thinking before you act. One of the things I love about the game It's also one of the main reasons I use a bunch of strategies/techniques/ideas borrowed from lets plays of people playing on the highest difficulty.
