QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 31 2017, 11:05 AM) QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Aug 31 2017, 11:45 AM) So I was wrong about the newer motifs not being used.ngl, I'm probably going to destroy this one out of spite instead of giving it to my crafting monkey. Not worth the 7 vouchers. Sell it on the Guild Store shelves, that is what I've been doing with them. I sold one for 119 vouchers because it cost 500,000 AP to buy the motif. Grrrrr! That is an expansion, those motifs should not be in use; just like they promised not to use the "Crown store only" motifs. (since we had to buy that expansion with gold, they are making it a pay to play thing with the vouchers when they use that expansion or Crown Store only stuff = swore they wouldn't ever do that when "Homestead" first released with these Master Writs). I doubt there will be many people willing to buy it, considering the style material alone is several thousand gold (at least one thousand) and there's no way I'll get over five thousand for it to begin with. If it were a higher voucher count, then maybe. Lately I've gotten a lot of "garbage" writs that ask for things in the Aldmeri Dominion and Celestial style for 6 to 7 vouchers (the latter I'm willing to do for a few vouchers since I recently got ahold of a bunch of Star Sapphires for a very low price). But this? This is probably one of the absolute worst ones. Apparently Buoyant Armiger writs exist as well? Either they buff the amount of vouchers these drop, or they're total, irredeemable garbage. This is coming from someone who gladly completes Ambrosia/Bear Haunch writs. (I have a lot of Roe from fishing)

While I'm honestly keeping my expectations pretty low, the more news we get about the Clockwork City, the more of my excitement and enthusiasm returns.
I sort of want to give my characters something of a makover (Jo'zira excluded lol) to sort of go with the DLC. I've done it before because of new motifs/sets/ or Veteran/CP levels, so at the very least I'll get them new armor.
I still regret not being able to get the Argonian Head Fins from the very first Crown Crate season because I really wanted them for Hates. Ah well. I've taken a liking to the Dark Brotherhood/Thieves Guild costumes since they work better for her than all the other ugly medium armors. (All of the new ones come with skirts, geeze.) I'm honestly not sure what I'm going to do with her yet. Maybe wait to see what the new motifs coming with the DLC look like? I'll admit, outfitting her was never easy and I always resorted to costumes. Hm...
For the longest time I wanted to put Eolan in Ebony-style armor, but Telvanni also looks great. Then again it's themed to the Morrowind Chapter and the Squad had very little involvement in that so...there's really no good reason to use it. The Covenant Armor was supposed to be used for the small DLC up to One Tamriel (representing the IC DLC I never actually touched much lol), replacing his Mercenary set from his time in Wrothgar. Maybe he'll get a shave and a haircut and go with Ebony after all.
Jo'zira just needs a new outfit now that he's in his "true" form. Unless they're really ugly, he'll most likely use CC-themed motifs.
I haven't even touched their homes in a long time and here I am thinking about armor and clothing.

I'm not 100% sure about how it works but (spoilered in case a "want to figure it out myself" thing is in effect)
I think most overland cases of group-gating like tile-stepping have been removed by now. A while back I learned that the Lost City of the Na-Totambu group/skill point boss no longer requires another player to step on the same tile as you. Good, because it was the ONLY case where group gating was implemented in Public Dungeons and I never understood why it was there to begin with.
Today I made the decision to stop offering my services as a crafter to random people. (Key word there: random people. People I know are still good)
Sure, I made decent gold now and then, but requests aren't frequent and frankly I can't be assed to do it anymore lol. (Especially since my time online has been reduced to like, 45 minutes a day, tops?)
That means I'm no longer obligated to seek out motifs and get them on my Crafting Monkey asap, and only those I ACTUALLY want will be sought after with the same...fervor I had before. Buoyant Armiger was the last straw, tbh.
Anyways, I HAVE started doing dailies again on the Squad just for fun. I hope they eventually expand existing Thieves Guild heists or add more of them. This is the first time I've enjoyed a Thieves Guild in any TES game. (Oblivion's main quest was great, but no repeatable quests so).

QUOTE(Grits @ Sep 6 2017, 06:28 PM) I love the Ebony-style armor. The robe looks battlemage-y. Jerric has one that he’s supposed to give to Darnand once the Breton has leveled. That might not happen. Jerric has been adventuring in Wrothgar lately. I suspect that part of the attraction for him is the lack of overbearing Alliance war stuff going on or Dark Anchors dropping on his head every few minutes. Plus the terrain makes it feel much bigger. He has a clue for a relic that’s in Old Orsinium, but he didn’t get out of the initial area in his first attempt. Maybe if he takes the quest he will be able to get through the puzzle door. It looks like the kind that requires multiple people to stand on the floor discs, but he didn’t try it to see. He was pretty annoyed by the time he got there, which didn’t help his decision making. The other day he saw a black bear sitting on its butt and an elk rubbing its antlers on a tree. Wrothgar! You have to listen to the story throughout the dungeon; and the stones have to be pressed in the order of the story. QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Sep 12 2017, 01:08 PM) Today Sandor Castius had been helping out the populace in Cyrodiil without getting much involved in the ongoing war. Though he wanted to complete a quest for an Argonian woman in Vlastrus he was impeded by the Aldmeri Dominion who had taken over. By taking out the guards he was able to take the town back.... his victory was short-lived when he was attacked and defeated by a nightade and a sorceress and her Daedric companion.
After this humiliating defeat, Sandor requested the help of his fellow soldiers not before being mocked about his bald head, though being complimented on the thickness of his beard. Sandor returned to Vlastrus full-force and took it back with reinforcements.
WOO HOO, Victory in Cyrodiil! Really impressed you were able to take back the town! (and able to find a group down there that will take you in despite the bald head and luxurious beard!) Awesome to see you here in the ESO forums!!!! Only 45 minutes per day to play?

QUOTE(mALX @ Sep 12 2017, 12:32 PM) Only 45 minutes per day to play? I'm on an ESO "hiatus" right now. For Skyrim. Which leads me to... Today in Tamriel: I physically recoiled at the thought of going to Eastmarch to pick up a Clothier Survey's nodes because I was just there yesterday. (Well, farther south, really, in the Rift) A thousand years in the future, but it's still the same place. Playing Skyrim with a new character detached from my old ones reminds me of why my main Dragonborn is the way he is. :V Uh, anyways, back to ESO. I wasn't able to sell as many tempers as I had hoped before the rush to buy them died down, but I still made some decent gold. Which is great cause I don't have much else to sell thanks to decreased activity. Vvardenfell motifs are my only option right now lmao I feel dead inside

QUOTE(Acadian @ Sep 19 2017, 12:15 PM) Aww, what a nice encounter, DE! I've run into some very kind folks in ESO; and some who are. . . not so much. Sadly it seems there's a greater abundance of unpleasant individuals than pleasant. Then again I often go solo. The last group dungeon raid was fun. The one before was composed of nothing but the leader screaming over the mic that the newbies' pets were causing lag and no one knew how to play. And funny story: I was that one curious fellow who puts an entire team in harm's way for pressing a button. In this case I foolishly pulled a lever and summoned a boss when everyone was yet preparing. He spent the entire raid complaining about that one "idiot" who ended up pulling the lever. He never found out it was me.

QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Sep 18 2017, 04:52 PM) Today Jo'zira got some nice things from his daily Clothier Satchel just as I learned that writ turn in will be wherever the heck you want it to be in the Clockwork City patch. A good sign. 'Course, the master writ he got was garbage, also probably a sign that I would have to forget about weapon and armor re-traiting. lol
Anyways, I'm glad one thing that bothered me when I first started is finally being addressed. It was actually Jo'zira that was first to discover that, no, taking a writ in Vulkhel Guard doesn't mean I can turn it in there if I'm not at the base level and he had to take a boat to the mainland and travel aaaaaaall the way to Grahtwood on foot to turn in his recently crafted linen goods.
yeesh
You can always right click on a friend or guild-mate's name and "travel to player," that will usually get you to a province capital city (more times than not). QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Sep 18 2017, 08:07 PM) Anyways, I'm monkey-scratches in-game now. I love how my throwaway handle based on an old OC ended up being my username. Don't ask
OMG, I saw that name in game the other day and wondered who the heck that was! QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Sep 18 2017, 11:48 PM) Good deeds never go unnoticed. So long story short I spent 10,000 + gold on a set of armor. A few days later when I returned to the game a fellow was asking for a ww bite. I offered for free. He was level 21. He didn't offer any gold, and I didn't ask for any either. Long story short I bite him and he did the quest to become a ww.
I just received a notification of mail and saw that he sent me 9,600 something gold and said he would send me more as soon as he would visit the bank. Wow. I was pleasantly surprised as his gift.
I'll take a screenie if he sends more. Anyone on PS4 who would like some gold?
Aw, that was Awesome!!! (Nice doggie!!! ) QUOTE(Darkness Eternal @ Sep 19 2017, 02:15 PM) QUOTE(Acadian @ Sep 19 2017, 12:15 PM) Aww, what a nice encounter, DE! QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Sep 19 2017, 03:24 PM) I remember in my early days getting a rare (blue) provisioning recipe for free from someone so I sent them some Malachite shards as thanks. Considering how toxic MMO communities can be, I always liked to encourage that sort of thing by going out of my way to do things myself.
(As awkward as it was in the beginning, my first and only gifted Werewolf bite was pretty fun as I led the newly infected person through the process. ...I love how this is a positive thing)
Nowadays I barely interact with anyone, though.
Anyways, a PSA: if you change your name and you have addons installed, make sure you go and manually change the old username on the Saved Variables section of your ESO folder BEFORE you log in if you want to keep your settings. Someone with more patience that me might be able to save their old settings after, but geeze. I just deleted them all and started over lol
I think there is something that happens with Guilds when you change names too, but can't remember what it was. QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Sep 21 2017, 05:33 PM) Today Brenna did some gem extractions on crown crate stuff that was junking up her inventory.
Save those gems up, I heard they are selling Bouyant Armiger full motifs for 100 gems (or was it 100,000 gems?) Anyway, it was some amount, lol.

Oh, this was WAY before I was in a guild. Either way, the thought of going to a zone before the story told me to felt...dirty, even though it's usually how TES works. (It must be what I mentioned before. Makes no sense to have to relocate to deliver something. That's what delivery is for :V) Also, afaik, changing your name can mess up your sales in guilds that keep track of them, which is why I planned ahead and did it early in the week. Then again I DID forget to alert my merchant guilds' GMs... Anyways, Today in Tamriel: I once again debate finishing a master writ that asks for Potent Nircrux. The payout is agreeable, but I want to conserve my stores until I have more. :T I'd be more sure of it if the payout were in the hundreds, though. Mira and Feng-Do both got to see a lot of the continent during the New Life festival, and since the game told them to go to the different places it didn't seem weird.

Crate kills for today complete. Two bloodfiends, couple of Ogrims, a handful of bandits, and a few skeevers. With that done, Mira went to the tavern!
