QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Oct 22 2017, 08:49 PM) That aside, I never did play any Metroid Prime games past the first. The light/dark mechanic from the following ones seemed interesting tbh.
Sounds like Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. That was an interesting game, I didn't care for the ammo mechanic for the light, dark and annihilator beam weapons but the rest of the game was neat.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 24 2017, 02:13 PM) They say System Shock is like Deus Ex. Can you confirm, Rader?
Kind of? I hear others say the same thing. I have actually played very little of Deus Ex, but from what I have seen they are similar in some respects. Both are FPS-RPG hybrids (at least, SS2 and Deus Ex), both are cyberpunk and have similar aesthetics, and both seem to have some similarly functioning mechanics and controls (the extent to which I can't say for certain). But one stark difference is that System Shock is decidedly more horror-themed. But since I have played a modicum of Deus Ex, I cannot entirely confirm the extent to which they are similar.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Oct 24 2017, 05:16 PM) I fired up the Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition and created a party. That took almost 2 hours!
A neat thing I noticed that Mark Hamill does one of the voices added by the Heart of Winter addon! I had to use him for my Paladin.
Please tell me he said "I have a bad feeling about this.",

QUOTE(Dark Reaper @ Oct 25 2017, 12:54 PM) I picked up my first Fire Emblem game the other day Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. Once I get my 3DS out of layaway I'm going to play it, FE:Warriors and Metroid: Samus Returns.
A fine choice of game! Having completed the Spire section, I find some of my enthusiasm for Fable 2 diminishing. Still got the dlc to do, so I might be able to push myself back into the game. And having spent far too long talking about it elsewhere, I've fired up KotOR

QUOTE(Dark Reaper @ Oct 26 2017, 11:59 PM) I FINALLY found the Amiibo I've always wanted. Meet Lucina, I've been wanting her for a LONG time ever since she was released for Smash Brothers on the Wii U. Nice! Always fun when you finally find what you're looking for

Honestly I wouldn't mind having an Amiibo of Camilla from FE:Fates if they made one. Well there's this statue of her that looks promising. I was going to say how uncomfortable that belt looks but then I noticed that her entire outfit looks like it's made up of scraps fished out of the local costume shop's dumpster. But then I've seen book skirts ruin an otherwise fine design so. Anyways, tried a bit of Fable 3 before running over to ESO and it got me thinking about how much Fable 3 ended up disappointing me. I discovered the reason 2 felt more...home-y was because Fable 3 was a lot more railroaded (or 'streamlined'), with skill and other upgrades such as job promotions, expressions, and the ability to buy homes and businesses all locked behind the main quest progression. Because of that, it almost felt like you had to rush through half of the game in order to unlock everything. In spite of all the improvements, it was ultimately a less enjoyable experience. No wonder I was so hard on Skyrim, I went through that before. This post has been edited by monkeyemoness: Oct 27 2017, 09:50 PM

Yeah, Khajiit was expecting Fable3 to be more like Fable2, but what we got was something different. This one couldn't ever put his finger on it, but something about the game just wasn't as charming as Fable2.
