Liz, welcome back! I know you were greatly missed by many of us here at Chorrol! And the problems you describe are quite serious, Iโm glad youโre working on addressing them. I have a cousin who has been struggling for years with bipolar syndrome, and he never would admit he needed help. Today he is in a nursing home due to complications from diabetes causing deteriorating vision and gangrene in his extremities, and his bipolar has interfered with his ability to make good healthcare decisions. He is now paying the price, as is my aunt (who has recently been diagnosed with dementia and is now in a memory care facility). Iโve watched bipolar syndrome steal a fun loving, caring, kind man away from us over the years, and Iโm grateful that you are fighting this as hard as you can, and that you have a good suppport system in your marriage. Please consider us your secondary support system as well, we are always here . . .

I feel for your cousin. I felt, at best, apathetic. At worst, like the color had gone from the world. I despaired. I lived in it. I made my home in it. The breaking point was when I realized I was(literally) walking into the woods and leaving my kid behind. Too many suicide attempts to count. I walked into the psychiatric facility in my county and begged for help. Literally broke down crying. Color has come back. I'm eating again, I have friends I see on a daily basis. I got counseling. Much, much needed counseling. I made a vow to always be explicit in what I'm feeling. No more beating around the bush. I'm glad I wasn't shunned. I really missed y'all.

QUOTE(mALX @ Dec 6 2017, 09:15 PM) A few weeks ago my son had an accident. He was okay; but his car was totalled. I just spent most of today helping him get a new car; here is an image of the model he got: 2012 Mazda 6 i Touring! Thank goodness we have wheels again! Thatโs a nice looking vehicle. Congrats!

That car is definitely Treydog approved! My 1999 Mazda pickup is still going strong after 350,000 miles and two major crashes (one rollover and one getting slammed from behind by a medical supply van). Glad your son is okay- as noted, that is what matters most.
