QUOTE(mirocu @ Nov 25 2017, 12:37 PM) I have an issue that has come up lately.
I can be on my computer for a good amount of time when suddenly things start to slow down. Like if I click on something, either on the web or locally on my puter, it doesn't react until three to four seconds later. Very irritating if I play chess or write something. I have to reboot everything to bring it back to normal.
Anyone has an idea as to why this happens?
Memory issue, perhaps? This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Nov 25 2017, 07:48 PM

Thanks, Rosa It seems that the IE windows are using about 50 MB each, but what swooped me off my legs was that AdblockPlusEngine is using 144MB*! Is it supposed to use that much? There's also a difference between the Explorer windows. One is using less and is called iexplorer.exe and those using much more are called explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe * 32 * Looking more closely I can see it doesn't use any CPU and not much else seems to either except one or two of the iexplorer things. Can't really find anything suspicious in the list so I don't know about this. This post has been edited by mirocu: Nov 25 2017, 08:41 PM

Mine has been doing this too recently; and I hit "Control/Alt/Delete" to bring up the Task Manager to find out what was using up so much memory that I couldn't even type = the highest offender was Google; which seemed weird because although I was on the Chorrol site = I wasn't actually using anything Google related at the time. The secondary offender was "Overwolf," which my TeamSpeak was completely off at the time. So I have removed Overwolf (immediately) and checked Google for add-ons that might be running in the background = there weren't any. I ran a scan on my antivirus and did a maintenance on my PC (Internet Options/deleted Temp files/Defrag/ScanDisk/etc). Haven't had the problem since, so I am thinking it was the Overwolf using the Google and causing it.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Nov 25 2017, 02:09 PM) It sounds like you have something running in the background that is steadily using up your RAM, and is never releasing any back when it no longer requires it.
You could try doing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and bringing up the Task Manager. From there look at the Processes tab. It will show you everything that is running, and how much memory each is using. You can even sort by Memory, to show what is using the most to the least.
See if anything there is using a lot of memory or cpu cycles. Then take the name and Google it. That is a good way to see if it is spyware or a virus, not to mention to see what it really does if it is legit.
This is exactly what I did, and explained much better than I explained it, On mine I found out it was the Overwolf causing it. Overwolf is something I added intentionally years ago; and worked fine until suddenly recently (for whatever reason). I don't know if one of their updates was messed up or if some malware attached itself to Overwolf; but removing it fixed the issue.

Well poot. End of the day yesterday I clicked on the windows icon at taskbar far left to begin the shutdown process. Nothing! Clicked on the speaker icon near taskbar far right to bring up the volume control. Nothing! At that point I had resort to the old "three finger salute" technique (ctrl-alt-del) - click the "shut down" button at that screen's lower left corner, wait for a message to top up telling me the computer is waiting on something, then click to ignore the wait and continue shutting down.
Yup, the taskbar issue I thought solved isn't. Now I've got the taskbar issue, Youtube audio/video sync problems, popping audio. My best guess remains that these flaws have something to do with the Win10 Fall Creators Update, since I'm all but 100% certain that all was well before then. Slightly complicating the issue is that Firefox updated to v57 around this same time. I can't see how FFv57 could screw up the Win10 Taskbar, but don't want to summarily dismiss that possibility. Too, another of us, who doesn't use Firefox, has mentioned sync and popping.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Dec 10 2017, 05:23 PM) Well, I cannot access the imgur website at all. Not my own material nor bring up links of screenshots by other. Not even my own signature. I've had this problem for a few days now and find myself unable to support and comment on the imgur offerings of others - frustrating. This the essence of what I get:
'An error occurred during a connection to i.imgur.com. SSL peer cannot verify your certificate. Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_ALERT'
My browser is Firefox but the problem persists even if I use one of my alternate browsers. I use ESET and have briefly disabled its internet protection to troubleshoot but the results are unchanged.
I can bring pics up and even access my own (third) account. Still can't upload anything from my own puter though. Any alternative out there?

Found an Oblivion image I'd not yet uploaded. (I consider it somewhat sub par.) Revisited imjur. Uploaded with no issue. Was able to add a description and, as is evident, add it as a link here.
