So a combination of electricity issues making me fear for my recently fixed PC and just honestly not being up to the task of 9 long quests in a row each day lead to me not wanting to do the New Life Festival this year. At least until I get a surge protector from this decade. Otherwise I rather play Dark Souls 3 with my little time on the PC.

At the very least, I got a sword swallower memento last night.

Hey friends! I’ve been missing in action the past few weeks but I had the time boot up some ESO and I noted there were so many changes, including sprinting and among other things like animation. I was pleasantly surprised at some gameplay dialogue.

I’ve did Hircine’s quest a long time ago and in yesterday sSandor’s travels he aided a group of desperate Glenmoril Witches in taking back the region from evil Reachmen. I’ve watched gameplay videos of this quest before and was surprised when the dialogue was different to the condition of my character. Rather than “mortal”’, Hircine referred to my character as “the prodigal pup,” and asked Sandor “if he had learned anything.” From his quest in Oblivion.

That was a pretty cool touch!

I’ll try to upload the gameplay!

But I’ll be sure to follow the adventures of all our heroes here!

I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

Was this a werewolf quest DE?

No, it was unrelated to any werewolf quests. The quest was called “The Heart of the Beast” in Bangkorai.

Hmm, oh ok. Say do you play on PC or console?

Aw, I'm really sorry about the storms making you fear for your PC; but totally understand. I am using a surge protector right now that got literally fried several years ago in an electric storm, and have taken to unplugging everything in the house every time I hear thunder anywhere near the house now = just in case.

*

I just saw something hysterically funny in game, and had to come mention it: Two Players dueling; one was a Sorc with pets. The Mage was standing in one spot using the "Writing" emote while his Scamp and Matriarch tore into the other Player. At one point the other Player hit the Matriarch with something that pinned her to the ground for several seconds; at which time the Mage put the paper up and jumped into action with some lighting spell. As soon as the Matriarch was back up he went back to "writing his letter," while the pets finished off the other Player! It was hysterical, I have seen Tanks do stuff like that before; but never a Sorc! And I have to wonder = why did that second Player not attack the Player instead of the pets? rollinglaugh.gif

DE, it is so AWESOME to see you on here and know you are okay = was worried when we hadn't heard from you for a while and no updates in your story!

That is really great to hear they are finally starting to make some Players specific dialogue! I know a lot of people were a bit put off by the lack of it a year ago; so maybe Zenimax finally listened, lol.

Awesome to hear from you!!!!!

Well today Brenna tried taking on some dolmens solo. Everything was fine until the big bad dropped. She’s currently sitting at lvl45 so hopefully she will reach 50 in the next couple of days.

Buffy has noticed group delves in Craglorn and been curious. So today she studied up on them and dove into one.

They look on the map like a normal delve symbol (torch) but with a + next to it. UESP wiki says they are currently ‘balanced’ with a party of two in mind. It seems there are six of them in Craglorn and they are a rather unique breed of dungeon with the following characteristics:

- Like a group dungeon, they are a unique instance. Foes do not respawn and you will see no random players.

- The groups of foes are tougher than those in a public dungeon but not off the chart at all.

- Bosses have about 775k hp and pack a pretty good punch, so they are midway between public and group dungeon bosses.

- It seems there is not a cap (min or max) on the size of your group.

The one that Buffy chose to investigate was Hircine’s Haunt and she cleared it solo as a magicka sorceress (dps). It indeed felt about midway between a public and group dungeon. It was tough to solo but she did so without dying. She then changed into a templar (healer) and again soloed the same dungeon.

The reason I bring this up is that these unique dungeons seem almost perfect if we want to do a challenging but fun guild run during one of our meetings. They indeed seem almost midway between a public and a group dungeon. The one that Buffy did was not overly large and quite straightforward to navigate. Two players would work nicely (though somewhat challenging) but it would still be fun even if we had 5 or 6 of us.

Er...I'm a bit too inexperienced with the Templar to attempt trying to actually play her in a dungeon; but I'm game with Britta if you need/want a Tank!

Update on those group delves. Did a second one. Hircine's Haunt had 2 bosses, each with about 775K hp and adds. Just did Rkundzelft. Quite a bit easier dwemer ruin with lots of constructs. There were also several generic centaurians with about 290K hp encountered along the way to the one boss. The only boss was alone with no adds and had about 480K hp so that is what made the dungeon feel notably easier.

So Rkundzelft felt closer to a public dungeon in challenge while Hircine's Haunt was a few notches more challenging. Still, good stuff!

Acadian, group delves sound like they will be great fun. When we get a handful or more from our guild it feels silly to rampage over other players in a public dungeon, but group dungeons aren't quite for spontaneous visits. A group delve sounds perfect!

That's just what I was thinking - almost custom made for little guild events. Can even stop to chat after clearing a room and not worry about respawns dropping on our heads.

Oh, and love your new screen of the month! Not often we get to Jerric dressed up a bit! happy.gif

Edit: Well, it looks like the group delves do respawn trash mobs anyway. Just did another and had to fight some of the same mob groups on the way out. Oh well, still good stuff.

The Electrician never showed up (he's a family friend) but the power seems to have gotten stable thanks to his suggestions so I might jump into the Festival after all. (Thanks for the runebox, though, Grits!)

After today, Eolan's gonna hang back and let Fjotreid have a try, though.
