QUOTE(RaderOfTheLostArk @ Dec 28 2017, 07:11 PM) I jumped back up in the past couple days, much to my chagrin. Since I have been back home for Winter Break, I haven't been able to work out like I want to (although the impending end of the semester cut into work out time then as well). The past couple months or so has seen more dessert consumed than I should have been having. Luckily it hasn't been detrimental like it would have been in the past, but it is still a bit frustrating. So I have stagnated on losing the last 5-10 pounds that I want to get rid of for months. It finally caught up with me a bit, so I am going to cut back again.
Tell me about it! Weighed myself just prior to today's shower. I'm 4-5 pounds heavier than I was last weigh-in, which occurred last Monday, several hours prior to my big Xmas Day lunch. As I've done no splurging since that lunch, most if not all my gain surely came from there. It doesn't help that I can no longer get in daily walks due to too cold weather. As for my "normal" daily diet, it remains pretty much the same as always. Oatmeal with banana, cinnamon and sweetener along with a grass of skim milk for breakfast. Soup or occasionally a Wowbutter sammich for lunch, with half a Fuji apple for dessert. Salads for supper with a hard boiled egg on the side for supper, with the rest of my Fuji for dessert. No sweets (candy, ice-cream, cake, etc.). No junk foods (chips and so on). Nothing to drink that isn't skimmed milk or water. No between meal snacking. Boring yes. But once I sufficiently winged myself off most unhealthy foods and drinks I find I have no cravings for them whatsoever. That said, there are certain foods I don't dare take a bite of for fear of becoming immediately addicted again. And of course foods I allow myself during occasional restaurant "splurge" meals but won't allow in my house.

QUOTE(Grits @ Jan 3 2018, 11:36 AM) I'm making the sauce for this afternoon's spaghetti and meatballs. The wine just hit the pan, and it smells way too good in here for 11 am. My cold coffee is not cutting it any more!
The wine usually gets intercepted on its way, when I make it. <= pour it here.

QUOTE(Cain @ Jan 3 2018, 03:42 PM) I miss making homemade spaghetti sauce. My recipe gives the missus heartburn, though. Even tossing in a few carrots doesn't work.

Pad Thai? From what I remember of the menu it was similar to Kommad Pad Pai, though obviously it wasn't that. I just remember a K and two M's somewhere in the first part of the name

Time to pick it up again for I have the menu! Apparently there were no double K but double S: Massaman Pad Pak. It has veggies, massaman curry, coconut milk, ginger and peanuts
