I've been watching the PTS feedback on the forums, and there's a bit of demand for Outfits hiding pauldrons and shoes, as well as helm, so Unna is hoping they eventually allow hiding any location. If not, we'll have to search for something with bare legs for that slot. I think I've seen a few, but they could have been complete costumes.

This one really doesn’t understand why only helmets are selectable for hiding in the options menu. If you can not wear your helmet but still get all the benefits of it, why not do the same for the other armor pieces? As for bare legs, the low tier Argonian medium gear has shorts for the legs. Besides that, Khajiit has seen a skirt type thing for the Mazzatun legs. This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Jan 12 2018, 05:49 PM

It appears that the "hide helm" option goes away, and you'll need to have an Outfit to do that. So the hope was for "hide any slot" in the same way. Many folk want their Outfit to not show pauldrons, or gauntlets, or shoes (probably mainly the Argonian and Khajiit characters wanting to expose claws). A generic hide option on any slot would probably be easier to implement, so I remain hopeful.
OTOH if you need to create an Outfit to hide your helm, then what happens with costumes?

According to the folks on the ESO Live show, there is a hierarchy that it follows. Khajiit believes it (goes from low to high): armor> outfits> costumes >polymorphs So outfits take precedence over armor but costumes take precedence over outfits.

QUOTE(Grits @ Jan 12 2018, 11:07 AM) My understanding is that Costumes override Outfits as Khajiit said, but parts will show under them. So you could wear a costume (and hide its helmet since Hide Helmet overrides Costumes) along with an Outfit that includes a dyed weapon, and the dyed weapon would still show. Cue Blossom's gown and dual golden axes.
Khajiit can hardly wait for dyed weapons!

QUOTE(Grits @ Jan 12 2018, 12:07 PM) (Added: It bears mention that Hat already overrides Costume. That's how you can wear a crown with a costume that has a hood or helmet and still see the crown. I wonder if they have added a bare head Collectible to the Hats menu to replace the Hide Helmet option.)
I think that's what they were trying to do. If so, we'd still like "bare x" for each slot. Khajiit foot claws, No pauldrons, Unna's legs, Jerric's chest, should all be the same mechanism internally.

That possibility is what makes me giddy about them using a Collectible instead of a function under Options. If Costumes could be separated into legs, chest, shoulders, etc instead of the current head + full body, woo!! And of course if whatever naked body part Collectible you wore overrode the corresponding Costume part, it would naturally override Outfits and equipped items.

The hiding helmet has always been in the game; but in the update they have moved it to part of the "Outfit" center (of which we will already have one at the Guild Hall; since they are using the Dye stations). It wasn't working properly; so not sure if they will keep it there or not = but if they do; I noticed 6 empty slots to the right of the "hide helmet" feature on there! (hopefully meaning that we will have a way to hide the different pieces eventually!!!). I guess they are not going to fill those empty slots till they can get the helmet one working. Don't make the mistake of using the "Clear X" button for any pieces and think that will hide them; or you will have to buy another "Outfit." That button only clears you from using that slot in your outfit; so your actual armor will show through. QUOTE(monkeyemoness @ Jan 12 2018, 02:59 PM) It's the only thing that keeps this system from being absolutely perfect to me, tbh.
If the no helmet option in the system is an indication, one day I'll be able to hide unnecessary shoulder armor. Till then I'll stick to the thief/assassin costumes. (Also there's prisoner clothing options, so regular clothes may come, too)
Every time I steal clothing, I try it on. If I like it = it gets laundered and kept for wearing in town, lol.

Jerric got some fun things that he wouldn’t have bought but have already found homes: panda mount, Mages Guild cat, pocket mammoth, freckled guar. He also got some silly appearance things and some junk to convert to 28 gems. Oh, and another Imperial armor costume which is nicer than the last one. The mammoth makes a cute noise. Seems like a good mascot for Mikken's tavern. Here's a picture of the appearance stuff: Not Afraid to Look Ridiculous

QUOTE(Acadian @ Jan 17 2018, 12:29 PM) I saw folks talking in the zos forums about what they got in their free crates - you know, the ones they said they would issue tomorrow? Well, sure enough, they snuck them in with today's update.
Buffy got all 6 crates. Not all junk but nothing of interest to her. I mean I'm sure plenty of folks would like a white wolf mount but it is something she'll never use. Oh well. Net result that made her happy is boosting her gem count from 9 to 47.
Well sometimes you can find costumes for like 16 gems so maybe something will come along in a future Crate season that y- er, Buffy, will like! We didn’t get a lot of interest in our crates. Two things Khajiit was happy with: an Arctic Fox non-com pet and the Imperial Guard Centurion armor which fits Mira like a frickin’ glove! The rest was mostly converted to gems and now our gem count is at 170. May get another 4 crates to try and get our gem count up to 200 for the Akaviri motif. With Khajiit’s luck, he’ll probably end up with one of the Flame Atronach mounts since he is aiming for a different goal, lol This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Jan 17 2018, 09:07 PM

A pet that "can't be used in this zone", an outfit none of my characters will wear, several appearance items ditto, and a lot of poison. Can't decide about the experience scrolls and potions, but a lot of the rest may go back for gems. Unna's Snow Bear is not available through Crown Crates at any time, so we at least weren't even hoping for that. Would have been nice to get at least something special.

Pretty much everything except mimic stones gets returned for gems. I do keep a few xp Scrolls in the bank for rainy days but other than that, gems.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Jan 17 2018, 02:20 PM) Well, perhaps it is because Buffy is pretty much a nature girl, but when it comes to Jerric, he looks best au naturale (sans tats) and without the hair gel up do. Bahahaha! Jer looks like a bro, bro!

Are the XP scrolls worthwhile for low-level characters? I'd think their rate of gain is low, so the percentage increase isn't worth much. And none of mine is beyond 30 yet. I did get one Mimic stone, which will probably get saved up for ever, waiting for the right time to use it.
