Khajiit prefers Poes!

I haven't posted there in a very long time.

I posted a bug report, and got no response. You'd think they'd want to fix Skyrim bugs, yes? And I'm still not sure what caused it.

Sometimes when I start a new game, I'll have an automatic levelup waiting just as I get in game. And my skills will increase at an alarming rate.. like one hit gives you one skill up. Move at all while sneaking, one skill up. Block one hit, skillup. Take a hit, armor skillup...

So I report it... and it proceeds to get no answers. In fact, I found out later that it happened again, so I googled it and only came up with my thread, no replies.

Are/were you running any mods?

First time, no.

Subsequent times, plenty, and every time it happens, my load order is different so I can't really pin it down.

I do not run gameplay enhancements or perk overhauls, like Requiem or anything like that. I don't run anything that affects skill leveling either.

Running the file validation fixes it, but every time I do that it resets my screenshot counter and if I'm not careful I'll overwrite all my screenshots.

Hmmm, that is strange. Khajiit has never encountered this bug before. Do you know of anyone else having the same problem?

Also, do you keep your screenshots only in the Steam location?

My screenshots are not Steam screenshots, they go into the Skyrim folder. And are named all stupid like. Screenshot0, etc. It's the default.

I've seen a few reports of this bug before, and it's happened over three installs so I don't think my install was to blame unless it's magically carried over three different computers.

It's kinda rare, but still annoying.

Yeah, not sure about the bug but Khajiit would definitely recommend moving your screenshots from that folder to a new one (like maybe your pictures library). That way you won’t have to be concerned with losing them.

I agree with Khajiit. I just have to remember to move them. I usually do, but I dislike having to rename them or keep separate folders. I might just wipe them out and start over since I don't even go looking through them...

I have 10 games' screenshots in a folder, all the way back to my EQ2 days, and I don't look at them. lol

(Huge sigh of relief). I was afraid the lightning had made a trans-Atlantic crossing (through the magic of the Internet) and killed Terence the Server Hamster. Either that or too much cake and ice cream had rendered the little devil unable to spin his wheel...

Vacation...this word is alien to me. What is v.a.c.a.t.i.o.n?

This wonderful thing where the bird lives, where everyone and their mom takes an entire month off, effectively grinding the entire country to a halt.

Everybody takes off? How does that work?

Most people take 4 weeks off in July.

Necessary services like hospitals and other businesses will rotate 4 week vacations in shifts over the entire summer. Like my bf's hospital where he goes for dialysis, they have three vacation periods, where a third of the staff in the ward is gone for a month.

The country literally shuts down in some aspects... expecting your favorite cafe to be open is hit or miss because the employees are probably taking a vacation.

Tourist destinations tend to be open though. They make serious bank during the month of July.

Right, the problem with the big vacation is that you can't go anywhere they're having their own vacation, because everything will be shut down.

Idiots are setting off fireworks outside. They woke me up doing it last night too. Bang, bang, bang! I almost ran outside with my M4 ready to shoot someone. Because just six months ago I woke up to a bang, bang, bang, and it turned out to be one of my neighbors being murdered.

Fireworks?! For Memorial Day maybe? Regardless, it’s not a good idea.
