Sounds like a frustrating day - and that memory lapsing could be dehydration, so make sure you drink plenty of water with this excessive heat and running!

Such days are far from unusual for me anymore, for good or ill.

Looks like the party's over YT wise. Ep1 of my Transport Fever series drew over 200 views within just a few weeks! That's unheard of for a video of mine. Only the first episode of my old Oblivion uploads has more views, and it's been up well over four years. TpF ep2 didn't do nearly as well, but still earned what I concern a decent view count for a nobody who doesn't even voice his TpF episodes. Ep3 did better than Ep2. A promising sign, especially as its been up not much over a week. Ep4? Not so much. Disappointing in that I think it the best of the four posted episodes, certainly of the three train rides. (The other is of course a truck ride.) I don't monetize so have no financial stake in viewership. But I suppose every person who uploads to YouTube wants his or her work seen by as many as possible, and derives pleasure to the extent that comes to pass. I'm certainly no exception.

Sort of a nothing day, as so are nowadays. Got in a fine exercise-walk a little after 0600, with a burst of extra speed at the end. That's pretty much the extent of it. Moped around ever since, accomplishing little of nothing.
Yikes, only now remember I haven't yet done my dumbbell exercises, which I normally do right after lunch. Gonna sign off and take care of that.

WOO HOO, that is Awesome on the viewer count! I still have your Oblivion vids bookmarked on my "Favorites" list; and go back and watch them whenever I want to get a huge smile over your Avatar's dialogue with Vilja and singing!

Starting exercises and walking tomorrow. Need to get into this habit.

I don't get a lot of views, but I also don't really look at my statistics often. I have one video from 2 years ago with 2.8k views, but that's about it.

Oh and a 4 year old ESO vid with 3k. Forgot that one.

I normally don't bother with YT statistics either. Only started after my first TpF vid did far better than expected. (I assumed it'd do no better than ep4 has.) Was so unexpected I've kept an interest in viewership since. I expect my interest will drop to zilch once views taper off to and remain at nothing or all but, as will invariably happen. In any case, I'll soon have no TpF routes with sufficient scenery to show off, and few if any routes well enough designed to make adding scenery worthwhile.

I expect mine to die off when I get off my Skyrim kick. Which I'm sure will happen. Prepatch for Wow is due Soon™, so I'll be playing that more.

I swear! Didn't remember to take my heart meds, which I should do around 8-8:30am, until a bit before supper. At that time I realized I forgot to start this month's 10-day antibiotic treatment (for my infection prone lungs) on the first. I've now put the correct among in my compartmentalized weekly pill container and will begin taking them tomorrow. (I also wrote it down on my wall calendar to be on the safe side.) Forgot about my dumbbell exercises until nearly supper.

On the plus side I got in my exercise-walk at the accustomed time. That I don't forget, not for more than a few minutes. Always take my morning and evening meds on time, as they're connected with meals. I ain't gonna forget to eat, you can count on that. Remembered to order a new prescription for antibiotics online.

Spent much of the afternoon editing various clips into what will be Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep6. My thought is to upload ep5 tonight at bedtime. I've material for one more solid Ride-Along beyond ep6. After that? I'm almost about out of train routes with sufficient scenery to justify the title "scenic."

Oops...just now realize I forgot to balance this month's checking and savings account statements. Darn it! I need get on that.

ADDENDUM: Woot, accounts balanced. What's more I finally got around to typing fixed monthly expenditures and deposits into my computerized ledger to the end of the year. No memory issue there. Just good old fashion laziness and procrastination.

Grrrrrr....

Began uploading my YT vid last night. Description, check. Custom thumbnail, check. Tags, check. (Spent a long time with those.) Added to TpF playlist, check. Set Windows to NOT put the PC to sleep during inactivity, check. Yadda yadda yadda, check. Finally called it a day and retired to the sofa, with the upload three hours from completion, thus ready to publish when I returned to the PC this morning.

Woke around 0300, thirty minutes before I customarily crawl out of bed (sofa, rather) for the day. Needed to relieve myself so decided to take a quick peek at the PC and insure all was well. Set foot in the computer room to be greeted by a sleeping PC. What the...? Pissed at myself I opened Windows Settings and double-checked Power Options. Sure enough...it was set to NEVER sleep. Hoping it was a quirk I again told Windows to stay awake, returned to the sofa and read awhile. About 0340 I returned the PC....it was asleep. The gist of it is my upload, which should have been finished long ago, is only at the 67% mark. Assuming the PC going to sleep during the process doesn't ruin the upload, which I won't know until all is said and done. I'm stuck sitting here to insure the PC stays awake, unable to do much on the interest as uploading slows even this site to a crawl. Watching YT vids to pass time is out of the question. I swear if it's not one thing it's another.

0600 ADDENDUM:
Woot, it's up, Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep5 - to and from Chesham Railway Passenger Station. Sleeping didn't seem to affect the upload. Leastwise I assume that's the case. Haven't had a chance to watch the vid online and insure all's well. This one's a shortish Passenger Train ride rather than a Freight Route.

0820 ADDENDUM:
Doh, I knew it! Finally watched ep5 online. The video is fine. What's more, I discovered watching from a bit further away from the monitor than I usually do makes blurring less noticeable while not sacrificing quality. But...despite having checked the video multiple times before uploading, I discovered a typo in the very first text narrative. Or is the second? Whichever. This is indeed an honest typo rather than one of my notorious brain-farts. An extra "R" in Western. "Westerrn" rather than the correct spelling. No way will upload a corrected copy over one typo. In any case I'll likely unearth at least several more over time before all is said and done.

Doh!

At leas the upload wasn't ruined!

PT has me correcting my posture and exercising more.. the back exercises she gave me wore me out yesterday and my back hurts today. And I get to repeat them tomorrow.

It's not "you're doing it wrong" pain, it's "we're tired because you used us too much" pain.

That's the best sort of pain to have, assuming one must suffer pain at all. Your post reminded me I hadn't done today's dumbbell exercises...taken care of now. Had little energy for 'em. Was something of a struggle. Hope it's just an off day.

Probably just an off day. I have to get a floor mat soon because it feels like my spines digging into the laminate while exercising and since my backs technically injured, i really should be more careful snd get some padding under my hips.

Mowed this evening. It could have waited a day or two, but hot as it is this is our coolest day for some time. Too, Chance of storms is predicted for tomorrow. Didn't want to chance the grass becoming too wet. My mower doesn't handle damp grass well.

No other ongoing projects I can think of.

Sigh. I'm wondering if I should really post this... wacko.gif

So. Yesterday I removed the carport roof again and added more plastic sheets underneath as a moisture barrier. I noticed during this year's first rain fall (almost anyway) that the roof leaked in several places, both due to the roof having several old holes from before and due to holes/rips in the plastic I put up a few weeks back. I knew I was too hasty with my work when I did it last time so; do it again and do it right!

Really happy with it so far. The plastic is whole and covers everything much better. I also added some woodwork to better support it at the edges and all I need now is a new roof. I will get it tomorrow and put it up and hopefully this is the last time I do all this! tongue.gif

New roof is up! Went well although I did miss with three of the screws. No biggie, I just left them in. They still seal against water. Proper length of the metal sheets this time too. Last time (2011) I forgot that I needed some overlap so I took four sheets that were 3500mm and four that were 2500mm (cheaper). So not much overlap to speak of, plus the roof didn't quite cover as it should front and back. But now it does while also cover better to the side.

Thank the LORDS it's finally done! tongue.gif

And now it's time for a new roof, one over the saw we use to cut firewood. We've grown tired of moving it under cover every fall and then moving it out again in spring so now it's gonna stay where it is instead. Got the first support beam up with the second going up on Saturday. Then some extra bits to screw the roof into and some plastic before the actual roof comes on.

Ongoing project: Upload Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along episode 6. Began a bit after 0700. Now circa 0930 I've still over two hours to go...and it's a short video. Should have uploaded Wednesday night, but wasn't feeling well enough to want to bother with it. Last night I could and should have uploaded. Was feeling about as well as I'm apt to feel these days. Played Transport Fever from just after supper until bedtime so had no internet usage conflict. But no, it didn't dawn on me to to upload until too late.

Have been killing time 'filming' footage for what will be ep7. Have pretty much everything shot except a closing Goods Station departure overhead view.

I'll likely launch the game when done typing this and either try for that final scene or do some actual playing.

As to game play, I spent much time yesterday adding a second pair of tracks along part of my so-called main line, a stretch of tracks between Dunwich and Morley, with Eastleigh sandwiched in between. Man o man are those tracks congested. Too many trains traveling too few tracks. What I did helps somewhat but is far ideal. I just hope I didn't botch something in the process that's gonna come back and bite me. A particular concern is "the gauntlet," a nasty stretch of tracks between Morley and one of the map's edges. Lots of lines converge there. It's caused almost unsolvable traffic jams twice now. Following the second I sorted things out just enough to avoid future jams. Yesterday I altered the gauntlet somewhat and fear I'll start getting jams again. I swear there must be some fix for that mess. If so I've yet to stumble on it.

Slept in late yesterday morning due to taking an OTC sleeping pill the night before. Decided to forgo my exercise walk, though I could have squeezed it in had I rushed things a bit. I of course walked today. Not gonna miss two days in a row, barring bad weather, health issues or an unforeseen conflict.

ADDENDUM: TpF Scenic Ride-Along episode 6 is available for view. It can be found via link in our "What are you playing?" thread.

We just moved some furniture in. Secondhand, look to be Ikea pieces.

Had to repair one of them. Drawer front came off.

@Decrepit - Nice to know you're still going strong(?) and not just sitting in a lawnchair telling kids to get off said lawn biggrin.gif

@Saki - IKEA furniture is always so much fun to put together, innit? wink.gif

Firewoodsaw roof is done. Almost anyway. Got everything in place except the metal sheets. We'll try to do it tomorrow but we have to cut them into proper length first. I'll take pics this evening and tomorrow and post them for everyone to judge biggrin.gif

Someone stick a fork in me, I think I'm done. Well done. Charred. The lawn is mowed. Sad thing is, it didn't really need it. I could have held out some days. But there are no reasonably tolerable days in the forecast for quite some time. Every day is a scorcher. That being the case I wanted to get it over and done with. The mow really took a lot out of me, more so than any mow in the past two years. On a positive note, a heart reading taken almost immediate afterward was easily within safe levels. A tad high for me, but lower than what many might consider "normal."

Be careful, heat can be doing more damage below the surface than you realize until later. (heat stroke is very serious). Next time stay in the cool and play video games!
