Auto Hibernate really does cause huge issues for me too; and no matter what I set it at I still catch it going into hibernation! What is that about?
You can't disable it altogether?
Also; I still need to figure out if I can stabilize MS-DOS on my Win Millennium puter. Any ideas, guys?
I did try to, but it never stopped it from hibernating, and no amount of mouse moving or key pressing would wake it = I had to hit the "Reset" in the back and turn it back on. Any unsaved progress was lost.
I finally fixed it by setting it for the max amount of time before hibernating; and then would click on a key or move the mouse (open a desktop file and shut it again) to keep resetting the timer on it. Of course that meant the PC was on all the time; which wasn't good for it either.
My new PC is a little better; I have it set not to hibernate and it still does regardless - but it is totally random when it does. I can be in the same document and one time it will go to sleep in 20-30 minutes; the next time I'll wake up in the morning and it will still be open.
But the new computer has two "On" buttons right next to each other. When the computer hibernates (despite all my efforts to stop it from hibernating) = the store I bought it from said I have to click on one of those buttons to wake it; and the other for turning it on.
Guess what? The hibernating button doesn't work at all, the same button that turns it on wakes it up; and it boots up saying "Resuming Windows" = and everything that was on the screen when it shut down is still on there just as it was! So I haven't griped too much at the shop I bought it from, only the couple times until I learned how to wake it through experimentation.
My old PC still has the issue, so when I use it I have to remember to activate it every 30 minutes or so to keep it on all the time.
** Mirocu, are you using a DOS-Box to run the game? That might help.

What do you mean stabilize. And turning it off is what he's having trouble with. Its doing it anyway.
Mirocu meant turning off the Hibernate option (which I tried to do, but it kept turning itself back on no matter what I did to stop it)
